+1 1st tier WL, interviewed mid-December

Does anyone have more info on this 1st Tier waitlist? What is the likelihood of going 1st tier to A?

Does anyone know if we have to fill out the waitlist survey? I'm not really inclined to tell them about my other (nonexistent) offers and I don't know why they would want that information...

can they even checkif you have offers, what is stopping people from saying interested with no other offers, even if they do have other offers(I'm people)

Got a WL email a few hours ago, interviewed 9/27. Does anyone have information on Hofstra's WL movement or the different WL tiers?

At my September interview they said we’d hear back by late December - should I send them an email?

It seems like they are getting back to all of us who interviewed from September to December todwh or early next week

i’m scared we are…but also im kind of confused because this doesn’t seem to be the same timeline as last year’s? like last year a lot of people got WL and CR on the same day
Also I interviewed for mdphd so maybe it’s a different timeline idk

2nd tier WL, anyone know if people in past cycles have gotten off the 2nd tier WL? I'm considering just withdrawing from the WL.

Any update to this? I can't find anywhere where it says whether or not it's mandatory

Thanks
I guess that is to improve their yield and their marketing. But asking where you have other offers sounds exploitative.

I guess asking about other offers is legitimate. They probably have a wholesome justification.
Perhaps this is optimistic but I tend to agree it’s legitimate—I believe it’s so they can prioritize applicants with no acceptances!

No, you’re right. That’s a good point.
It’s just this process and this waiting is stressing me out more than I had anticipated that it would.

Is anyone thinking of not filling out the WL survey?
Not filling it out will almost certainly not work in your favor.

They are probably trying to get a sense of who will accept a position off of the waitlist to maximize their yield and minimize their effort.

A strategy might be to tell them you have no other offers making you a more likely candidate that you will accept their offer.

But be careful (if you’re considering fibbing) because after April 30 they can run detailed analysis of accepted and waitlist candidates (according to the AAMCAS “traffic rules”.)

I guess it would just be great to get more clarification from their office about how we should use the survey - they've literally said nothing about it. As of now, I have no other offers, but that could change - should I submit it now saying I have no other offers, even though that could change tomorrow? I'm really confused as to how we're supposed to use it

Try to game it out from their point of view. They’re not gonna extend a waitlist offer to someone who has more prestigious offers. I think they’re more likely to extend an offer to someone who does not yet have an opportunity to attend medical school because of lack of acceptances. If you get offers later, at least when you filled out the survey you were honest in saying that you have no offers currently.
Are 1st tier wl?
