Can anyone from current students chime in on how it’s been studying for STEP 1? Do you get dedicated time for that or you have to study in the middle of classes ?

IS 2nd Tier waitlist. Cant lie I LOL'ed when I read that. So tragic. Interviewed back in early september and waited so long to prob have a 0 chance with only 99 seats
 
IS 2nd Tier WL which is strange bc I did really for the interview w multiple mmi interviewers saying they loved my answers and hope to see me there. But I guess they can prob tell I fit more at a mission social justice school and how I actually don’t want to be in middle of no where Long Island . Withdrawing my application
 
OOS A! I interviewed mid December. This is my 1st MD A as a non trad. I've had 10 MD interviews and have been waitlisted or rejected from every single one that has given me any response (4R, 3WL, 2 still waiting decisions). Zucker is my top choice too. I fell in love with it on interview day but didn't keep my hopes up because I had been having such awful results post interview. I'm beyond happy. I'm almost 100% certain I'm attending here!

do you guys think that the existence of the survey this year implies that there will be waitlist movement?

i understand the intentions, but wondering how much other people are planning to write, how much stock they really put in it, and if this is even worth thinking about as someone on the 2nd tier waitlist🙂
 
Yeah I'm not really motivated to write up the survey, also on 2nd tier waitlist. It honestly seems like a time sink. There was hardly any waitlist movement last year.

Also on 2nd tier waitlist and I had this exact thought while doing the survey too. I was looking through previous years threads for Hofstra and historically nobody has gotten off the 2nd tier WL.

Hi! Based on past sdn threads, it looks like some people do get off, no idea how many though. I saw the below the other day too, but I have no idea how accurate it is/how things change year to year. The screenshot is from a reddit post titled "Tier 1 waitlisted; any hope?"

Out of curiosity, when did you interview? And what day did you get notified that you were waitlisted? Wishing you the best of luck!

Geeze, i hope it goes well!! How’d your interview go, and did a decent amount of your post bacc get in, i know linkage is binding.
 
Damn they put people on first tier waitlist this late and I got second tier even though I interviewed in early September. That's some pain right there. Absolutely no hope smh

im a current MS1 and to my knowledge nobody got off either waitlist tier last year for the regular MD, only MD/PhD. each year is different though, last year they just overaccepted by like 7 students because more people enrolled than they anticipated

For Hofstra, how important is the interview? I've seen many others say they feel the interview went well with their interviewer saying they would love to see them, yet they were waitlisted 🙁
 
They posted on instagram the match list for this year which had 82 students match. In prior years it has been 90-100+ and I believe the class is a bit more than 100 students. Is this concerning?

Hello armchairastro! Only 83 students entered the match this year as some took research years, did dual degrees (e.g. MD/PhD), or were OMS students. Therefore the match rate was ~99%.

I was waitlisted 3/19 and was able to complete the survey. You should be able to view it on their AMP site under Admissions Decisions > Waitlist Survey.
