2024-2025 Loma Linda

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
have most people who interviewed heard back by now? i interviewed oct 30 and nothing
If I can remember correctly, I had radio silence from September until I heard back about being offered a spot on the waitlist in mid-March. Still hold out. When I was offered the WL I almost declined it 4 years ago...here I am now about to graduate from Loma and match in March. It'll all work out like it's supposed to!

I didn’t know that Loma Linda offer full scholarship. Can you please elaborate more about the eligibility for this scholarship?
This is just a trend that I have noticed in people who get this full scholarship, not official stuff from Loma. Usually, these students are almost always SDA and URM which makes sense because they want incentive to help diversify medicine. If you have a full ride here, I would take it. Its a good school and I have been satisfied with my training and preparation to match into my specialty of choice.

Anyone know when the next A wave will be?
Based on cycletrack (which is self-reported data so who even knows) I'm theorizing it could be feb 20th! It looks like thursdays every 5 weeks?? But I could be being neurotic! Praying the Lord brings us all peace during this crazy time 🙂

how many students do you think have been accepted/how many A slots remain?

+1 interview today! any tips?
Nothing other than knowing your application really well (why medicine, why loma linda, etc.) and being yourself! The style of interview (conversational vs. formal) really depends on you and your interviewer. All the best!

Last year LL interviewed 380 and matriculated 176. My guess is that they admitted between 250 and 300 students, which if correct would mean a very high post-interview A rate.
What do you mean by admitted? you mean like accepted accepted into the institution?

any As yesterday? or will we expect calls next Thursday?

based on the acceptance dates in this thread and what cycle track is saying, i would assume it would be happening in this next week bc it looks like every 5 weeks on a thursday they call and this coming week will be the 5th since the last wave. who knows though lol

Is it true that for non SDA applicants, were probably only going to get accepted off the waitlist? It seems to be like this for the past cycles.

did they make calls yesterday? do we think they are waiting for next week? or are we just all waitlisted lol

Hello beautiful people, does anyone have any information on the Masters of Medical Sciences (MMS) that LLUSM offers to some applicants who interview? I haven't heard back from the school about a A/WL/MMS/R yet, but I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself if I don't get an A or WL.

An alum told me that he had classmates who were offered the MMS program with a conditional acceptance to the med school for the following year. Would any of you go for it if offered?

any updates here? do we know when to expect further communication? is WL movement here typically pretty good?

I think around 70-80% of those who do MMS matriculate into our school the next year. I think you have to maintain a certain percentage throughout the year to be accepted to the school of medicine...its essentially a trial run of med school because you take some classes with us.

Also for those of you interested in the AHO regional campus...here are our match stats for our first larger class of 15 students this year (The next class coming out has like 25 students!)

We matched pretty competitive this year and I am expecting the same for years to come. We have 8 Loma Linda grads (5 AHO regional students) staying at Advent for residency this coming year. Out of our class of 15 students this year we had one person match IM (UTSC San Antonio), two Peds (UNC-Chapel Hill, Baylor CHRISTUS San Antonio), two Ortho (AdventHealth), one Radiology (AdventHealth), three anesthesia INCLUDING MYSELF! (two going back to Loma Linda, and I'm going to Case Western Reserve UH), four Family med (three at Advent, one military match), two Emergency Medicine (UT Chattanooga, Indiana University).

Coming here will certainly not limit your opportunities. Many of us interviewed at many big name programs (many of the ivy leagues and prestigious institutions). Many of us ranked where we wanted to end up and got what we wanted!

Do I still have a real shot here? Or is the class basically full and I am interviewing for WL?[/QUOTE]

hey! so i also had an interview earlier this week and i was also thinking this. But just remember that they wouldn’t interview you unless they had a spot. Wishing us both an acceptance !

for current students: are lectures recorded or is attendance mandatory for all? also what kind of resources are provided for board exam preparation?
