Last month it was the 4th Friday, so it might not be the case. Probably will be next week though lol
I feel like it will be next week. Tbf, that first Friday was literally the first day of the month😂. Like you said, I feel like it will be next week😎.

If i interviewed 11/14, does that mean I could likely hear back this Friday? I just want to get my decision and enjoy Christmas and New Year's in peace lol.

Interviewed 10/22 and still nothing. Starting to lose hope. I didn't see anyone from this date get an A either. Should I wait and hope for another round of A this Friday or just call my losses.

My brotha, don’t panic and don’t fear. There is a message from someone literally right before you that said they interviewed in early October and just got the acceptance yesterday. It may not be going the way you think it should, but just try to relax. I interview in mid November, there’s no reason to lose hope yet!

I interviewed same day as you. Still nothing either. It sucks seeing people who interviewed after us getting As while we hear nothing... We just have to wait until late-Jan/Feb when MCG starts ramping up on their decisions. Then we can focus on a re-app or hopefully get an A! Just gotta wait, as hard as it is.

Manifesting an A for you soon! Honestly, from what I gathered from past years, it seems like the "top-ranked" interviewers get the A approximately 1 month after. Anyone not accepted within that 1 month timeline seems to get the A, WL, or R around Jan-Feb.

Of course I have 0 clue as to what actually goes on, but I imagine the adcoms internally rank us based on the batch interviewing that day. With this level of uncertainty though, it's best to just take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy the winter break. So if we don't hear back within a month, don't fret!

Thank you! For you, the same. And I hope that timeline is the case! I didn't really have a good/positive experience with the MMI interview, but didn't feel it went terribly. They say "no news is good news", but the thing is, MCG hasn't started sending post-II rejections yet so that phrase is kind of meaningless lol.

I noticed this as well from last year's MCG thread, with people who interviewed in Sep/Oct getting acceptances in January and February. I also have a friend who got off the waitlist in May a cycle ago. I just wanted to have an A in hand going into the holidays, but it is what it is haha. Just have to be patient and hope for the best, and enjoy the holidays.

And, I think those who receive post-II Rs get them in late Jan/Feb, so we will ultimately get a decision by that time. I also know someone who received application feedback from MCG before reapplying, so that's something we can at least look forward to in the worst case.

Surprised they didn't release any decisions today. Oh well, happy holidays everyone!

This was definitely my experience with the MMI as well. I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of traditional interviews and while I don’t think I did poorly, it was just a unique experience. I just interviewed recently so I’m not expecting to hear anything until Jan at the earliest

I got an interview a couple days ago. IS. Do people who interview into mid-January get acceptances since I've heard that MCG's last acceptance wave is in February?

Don't know where you got that from. People got off waitlist in April-May last cycle.

Acceptances have historically gone out the last Friday of January, and then again two weeks after. I believe this was true last year. Then after that (week or two) will come Rs/WLs. There will be waitlist movement from March through May and many people are pulled from WL as others begin to withdraw As and go elsewhere nearing that commit to enroll date in April. So yeah it’s absolutely possible for you to be included in that A wave in February. But it’s not set in stone there will be those interviewed in September who finally get accepted in January so just take the interview and do your best. MCG has a large class so the odds are honestly pretty good if you’ve gotten an II (idk the post-II acceptance rate)

Relative to other acceptance waves, do the ones in January and February tend to be larger, historically?

Looking at prior threads, I think they are larger waves. But yeah, what @Willybskness said above is true (as long as they follow prior cycle timelines). This cycle, in general, seems to be running slower than past cycles. Idk if it's due to MCG being shutdown for a bit when hurricane Helene came through or if it's due to the greater influx of applicants this year.

Either way, try to take it easy and have a general idea that if you've already interviewed or will interview and are looking for an A, expect to hear back late Jan to early Feb. After that, it'll probably be WL and R waves.

Is there anyone who has done bad at their interview and gotten in

With the MMI format, I felt great about some interviews and I felt that I missed the mark in others. I suppose that’s the nice thing about MMIs is that you get a complete fresh start with every new interview. I was accepted. It’s hard to accurately tell as an interviewee how your interviews went though.

I interviewed in December. I've heard it's better to wait for a decision (ex. waitlist) before sending a letter of intent, but I'm worried of the chance of being rejected before then. Is it beneficial to send one before?

Hard to really know for certain but I just know from previous threads there are a lot of decisions that come out end of Jan/early Feb. fingers crossed we all hear something soon!

Did any of yall send thank you letters after interview?
I did but only to my separate interviewer for the regional pathway who responded and had some very encouraging words! MMIs make it hard to send a thank you email/letter because it’s so fast paced and we’re not really allowed to write names down. I guess you could send a generic letter to the admissions committee but I wouldn’t worry if you didn’t

For the past couple years, the one trend I have noted is that A's in January always seem to come out the last Friday of the month:

2020-2021: 5th Friday (1/29/21)
2021-2022: 4th Friday (1/28/22)
2022-2023: 4th Friday (1/27/23)
2023-2024: 4th Friday (1/26/24)

For 2024-2025, we actually have a similar calendar to 2020-2021, so honestly, I feel like A's this month will likely come out on the 5th Friday (1/31). Ofc, this is speculation, but they've been pretty spot on with giving decisions out the last Friday of the month.

Edit: I just took at the 2019-2020 thread b/c 2020's Jan calendar is exactly like 2025's calendar. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any A waves around the end of January here so idk if that was due to COVID or some other slowdown. It's the only cycle that seems divergent from the later years. Quite possible that MCG started the trend we see above after 2020.

Can I expect a decision at the end of January if I interviewed yesterday or will 2nd week of February be more realistic for a decision?

Per MCG website
"We will be hosting our 2025 Second Look Event Day on March 7, 2025, located at our J Harold Harrison, M.D. Education Commons. This event is by invitation only.

Has MCG released Second Look day date?
It's march 7th

So is MCG done sending out IIs for the cycle?
Interviews (from my understanding in the email that I received from them after completing my secondary) are sent out “through January”. Since its still January, I'm guessing that there still a chance they are sending them out, but honestly who knows🤷‍♂️?
