2) For me the open interview was still closed file, if they are admin they may have read your file but they do not access during interview

The MMI felt a little rushed / awkward BUT it is good if you feel like you messed up one question the next is like a reset.

From what I recall the statement was that there can be movement anytime from whenever you were put on until final decisions in Mid-January.
