Congrats to those who got A's! I have decided that if it doesn't happen for me this cycle though, that I am not doing this again. It's not a matter of dedication to helping people so much as the incredible expense monetarily, the way it drags on forever and the endless hoops that keep changing and there is only so much time anyway, I have seen such an arbitrariness to it all as well (not sure how better to say that last one so I hope that makes sense). Anyway, the whole process and cycle so far has been an incredible learning experience about many things either way. Good luck, everyone, in whatever profession you land.

Good thing that it's gonna happen for you this cycle! We're not losing you as a physician

Do y’all think we can do more then just sending a letter of intent to get off the waitlist?? Getting worry

If you have new experiences (100hrs), pubs, or awards you can always send an update letter if schools accept them. Otherwise, no, not really

Something I've realized throughout this process is how much experience and skills it takes just to assemble a med school application and get interviews. You'll be successful in whatever profession you choose, whether that be medicine or something else!

I just got a new publication and an A in a class I was taking. Should I send an update to my top choice school that I've already sent 3 updates to or you guys think that it's overkill this late in the cycle?

nothing is overkill in my opinion, if I had a new pub I would personally send an update to all my WLs!

losing all hope and feeling absolutely devastated. my alma mater will be done with WL movement by early next week and the groupme has 118 members for a class of 120 students. I sent a LOI two weeks after being put on the WL but am really starting to think this may just not be my year. there hasn’t been much WL movement for them this cycle and the people who have gotten off are all accepting the offer, so I don’t think they have really any seats left to give. I am so lucky to have gotten into an amazing program OOS and know I will be so happy there but this experience was everything I could have ever dreamed for medical school. I will never forget how happy and shocked I was to have gotten an interview, and I want to sob thinking about all of the hope I put into this the last 4 months for it to not end in an acceptance 💔😭

Hi everyone, just found out about this thread and I would love some support. I am waitlisted at 2 MSTPs. This is my second time reapplying and I've quite literally done everything since I got waitlisted to show my interest for both schools - letter of interests, my PI wrote letters to each school, and I wrote a final short update letter April 30th. One school replied and said that they are monitoring the enrollment deadlines and that they will reach out should a spot become available. The other school hasn't replied to me. I believe in signs, and since I reapplied there have been so many signs that have pointed me to this path and this direction and that this is the year I attend an MSTP. But I'm still a bit nervous. Still keeping the hope alive though - I know of two MSTP currently enrolled students who got off the waitlist mid-May. Trying to maintain a positive mindset and keep saying and telling myself that I will be matriculating to an MSTP this cycle. Any advice/support or dose of reality would be really helpful!

You did everything you could now! Let fate take its course. You will end up exactly where you need to be! Easier said than done but try your best to distract yourself the next couple of days/weeks. I believe in you 🙂
