Hi everyone,
I hope you're doing well! I’m an admitted IS applicant and have already paid the first deposit. While reviewing my prerequisite checklist, I noticed that my physics requirement is marked as incomplete.
I completed three quarters (one academic year) of physics at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and here are the courses I took:
- PHYS 1A - Mechanics (3 quarter units)
- PHYS 1AL - Mechanics Laboratory (2 quarter units)
- PHYS 1B - Electricity & Magnetism (3 quarter units)
- PHYS 1BL - Electricity & Magnetism Lab (2 quarter units)
- PHYS 1C - Waves, Optics, & Modern Physics (3 quarter units)
- PHYS 1CL - Waves, Optics & Modern Physics Lab (2 quarter units)
In total, that’s 15 quarter units, which should translate to 10 semester units, correct? This should meet the 8 semester unit requirement for physics. I’ve triple-checked the conversion, but I’m still a bit unsure since the checklist says I’m missing the physics prerequisite.
I’ve already emailed the admissions team to clarify, but I wanted to check if anyone else is in the same situation or has any advice on how to move forward.
Thanks in advance for your help!
