A Lighthouse, A Man, A City...A BioShock WW Game

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My POE is currently just samacs and Trouts, since you and Cyndias aren't W/W imo.

I agree with this part, though I think Trouts is more likely than Samacs.

How do you feel about Lis and Cray (two others who VCA isn't great)?

I think you were the first person to float the N2 conversion theory with Jaboo and Barks. Do you still think that is a possibility?

LIS and Cray are both village imo.

I don't think i suggested conversion D2? I did believe about Barky convert in D3 with the way the votes were going in vissy vs AM but i realized that view was wrong.

I can't help but feel if I'd just bothered to throw a lynch at Zen once he was flipped by the seer people would be significantly less sus of me. Because then there'd be a red box there and we know that's what matters, right?

Too many posts to iso and a bad VCA. He's in my POE, not my top read.

I could go for samac, but she has seemed more pro-village than kata did. On her sole day of activity she was on the wolf vote. That's pretty efficient for a vote that wasn't settled when she jumped on it.

I don't agree with all of her reads, but that was a pretty strong opening day.
Too many posts isn't a valid reason to wolfread someone. Too many fluff versus real content posts? Sure. But highposting is actually a pro-village trait. It's lowposters and chronic fluffers that need to be stomped out for making the game harder to solve.

I'm also not sure what you mean by the bad VCA. He was in an extremely village position on alley. None of those in my POE (or any wolves that have died so far) can say the same.

samac wasn't on Cyndia until the last twenty minutes, as the second-to-last vote. She voted LIS and chaos before that. Does that affect anything?

That never mattered. Which wolves people push when they aren't outted yet matters.

Are you genuinely trying to say that Lawpy isn't basically the walking definition of chronic fluff?

He literally has posts that are reactions ("hmm"), just thanks the mods randomly for tallies, and has literally 5-600 posts in this thread of which maybe half are actually content.

I don't think he is a wolf. But be a little self aware that there might be a bit of bias showing itself there, lol.

Nope. I've seen chronic fluffers and won't hesitate to remove them for either helping wolves or being a wolf. They're almost always lowposters and it angers me.

"hm" with follow-up is content
"guys, I got some ice cream" or "I'm busy and will be on later" is not content

I've been reading his posts and know 50% of his posts not being content is a gross exaggeration. I'd say it's actually 30% fluff at most.

That was initially. I was consolidating my posts since then.

I am uncertain whether this is tongue in cheek or you're actually arguing that 30% fluff is not chronic fluff.

I'm about 30% body fat. I'm definitely fluffy af, lol.

For SDN, I consider it decent. Too many people do mostly fluff and it triggers me. He also highposts which helps.

I'm going to view 140 solid content posts vs 60 fluff ones spread across 36 hours more positively than 7 solid content posts vs 3 fluff ones. Only one of these gives me enough wiggle room to interact properly.

I understand that currently the revealed wolves fit this theory, but I'm not sure why you keep pushing it when multiple vets who have played grouped games have told you that it pretty much never happens that way. It feels like a distraction at worst and a way to overly narrow your POE at best.
My eye twitches every time I see it brought up again

I literally called him out for this already mid game because there was so much spewing on the thread, lol.
Yeah, I remember that discussion. I wouldn't be surprised if confirmed wolves liked that initial and surrounding posts and hoping he'd stop talking as much.

If we're going by her reads, confirmed is Cyndia. A lot of her remaining POE seems similar to my own POE so, in my eyes, I see a lot.
So only Cyndia. Who I argued for the lynch of, and voted for significantly earlier than her BEFORE it was becoming a big wagon.

Wolf leaning: Cyndia, please, Kata/samac
Not sure: Chaos, lupin, MsP, cray, Mayo, AM
Village leaning: LIS, jaboo, Barks, Lawpy, Dina, Trilt
Village: Shorty
And... really?

Does that mean I'm village leaning? 😉

I'm going to view 140 solid content posts vs 60 fluff ones spread across 36 hours more positively than 7 solid content posts vs 3 fluff ones. Only one of these gives me enough wiggle room to interact properly.
How about we instead aim for a happy medium in the 20-40ish range with only occasional fluff and arguments with multiple organized quotes and justifications? Because that's what I prefer, lol.

Yes, but she's a super noob and you're a very experienced player.
And... really?

Only if shorty's the real seer. 😛

Maybe in the future. Still trying to convince the majority fluffers to change. When we lower the maximum, it'll be easier to lower the minimum.

Yeah, I remember that discussion. I wouldn't be surprised if confirmed wolves liked that initial and surrounding posts and hoping he'd stop talking as much.
Bruh, it's not wolfy to find Lawpy's thread spewing overwhelming.

I will die on this hill.

He does a ridiculous amount of posts of which a significant amount is not organized, coherent content, and you yourself estimated him as 30% fluff. That's not a good thing. That causes issues in reading due to signal:noise and I'll call it out when it's flagrant and that's not wolfy. Don't act like Lawps is doing us a favour by posting a ton.

You post a ton but it actually has game content in 90%+ of the posts and they're coherent and clear. It's good. It lets us read your thoughts and intentions. Lawpy is not clear.

Which btw, again, @vetschoolsletmeinplease keep talking. If you're village, you should be using your clear status to discuss openly with us.

working on this monstrosity for my midterm tomorrow and final next week

@alleycat03 you might find that sheet useful! anyone else suffering through cell bio too

But no, I know that was tongue in cheek but seriously, please consider reading through the Cyndia lynch and looking at how our individual votes fell. Keep in mind you agreed with my Vissy push and have generally, I think, thought I've been contributing and game solving appropriately - because I have.

Think about whether I would have been okay with many of the wolf actions this game (revenge killing people? letting a visible action get blocked obviously on thread? etc) and whether that's consistent with my typical wolf actions. Whether I would have voted in opposition to known seered wolves and argued against the lynch of others publicly. Etc.

I know we're at a point where there aren't great options because I abruptly hit that point today, too. I've never played a game where my wolf leaning list ended up blank. It's crazy. But I've done what I always do, reevaluated, and I really feel good about a Paws lynch based on everything I've read today, AND tying in things I've been saying the whole game about wolf decisions.

I know I'm an experienced player and it's easy to say I've just hoodwinked people. But I haven't. And I think if you look deeper you might agree.

Anyway. It's well past my bedtime.

The bolded is basically what I'm saying. I tried to ISO him yesterday and it was 500 posts with more than half as fluff. Made it impossible to find the content. It more than meets the threshold for fluffposts.

And that's me complaining about lulz posts. He was on alley when it was safe, but not when she was actually in danger.

He's in my 4 player POE. I'm fine adding Katamac as 5th into that POE.

Man it's truly something when those in my POE complain i post too much with mostly fluff. It really gives a context to that wolfy silencing the previous day
This is too rich to ignore.

I HATE silencing. It is something I rarely to never put in my games, and I literally bitched to the mods about having multiple days where reads couldn't defend earlier this game. It is infuriating and I have pushed quiet players this entire game do not put that bull**** on me.

Like, seriously, **** off with this. Nobody else has been known to be silenced by an ability.

The thing is, he's still on the lower side of signal:noise. There are people much worse than him. I'm not going to whip him for posting like this until every one of the true fluff offenders starts posting a better content ratio than he's maintaining.

I just don't see why calling out villagers for their posting style would be helpful if they show their work in said content posts and seem interested in clearing themselves. A lot of the worse offenders don't care about either or both.

Even outside all this though, his votes and pushes have been fine.

I have no idea what the grand plan from all these actions is of the pack, but I'll see what pawprints has to says later today.

I still think this an overreaction and his posts are easy to find content in. I do hope going forward you'll be more serious and less fluffy while posting if you can see how it looks on the other side.

alley was in danger. That is, until you and shorty gave a way out, remember?

You can rail against silencing abilities. I hate it even more. That doesn't change the fact it exists. Let's not kid ourselves here

I don't think you're making it up - in fact, I very much do not believe the mods would have let you fake it, including voting. I believe you were silenced.

I just have no other precedent to assume it was from an ability is all.

AM, I'm trying here.

On the bolded. I've been wolf listing all three wolves, and voted two of them.

I'm annoyed to break character, but my weirdness keeps coming up.

I posted before the game began that I would be posting frequent game quotes because I loved this game when it came out. I replayed the first game out of excitement. Well before roles went out I declared that I would post a bunch of quotes.

Beat it.

Saved every little sister.

I'm ready to go!

It may change.

My muse is a fickle b***** with a very short attention span

Fair warning, you're going to get a good number of bioshock quotes in my responses from now on

When the first quote wasn't understood as a flavor post I put it all subsiquent posts in italics so people who don't like them could ignore them.

I'm weird.

Mayo = Weird

I won't change that

Despite the weird Mayo, you and I both know this is the best village game I've played since Canada.

If you want to vote me out for being weird so be it. I will continue to be weird in every game I play. But I am trying to be weird and still help.

I don't even have you in my POE. I'm just reminding you to keep your eyes on the prize.

Yes but the comments (not just you, there's been several stating this) that i'm posting a lot with mostly fluff gives a wolf an opportunity to shut me down. And so it makes me wonder if that's the case.

The other theory is i bought and smoked cigarettes over tinfoils. Sure the cigarettes have some precedence but it doesn't make sense for me to use them when i saw the known side effects in what happened the day before and the tie mess it created. That and also i hate being silenced in any capacity which is why i air my thoughts directly into the game thread.

On that point, i didn't buy or use any items. But i believe items are generally in line to abilities, which is why i don't think a silencing ability is that unusual

DAY 5

latest

Once upon a time I was in love with Andrew Ryan. In so much love that I followed him down here, to Rapture, where I was sure we would spend our days together. But Ryan loved his philosophy more than he loved me, and he was too busy with his politics to give me the time of day. So I found a new love, a man who was perhaps more brawn than brain but who at least gave me the attention I sought. My loyalty to Frank Fontaine is absolute, and because of this, he gifted me with an engineering tonic to make hacking a breeze - cameras, turrets, vending machines, bathyspheres, they all bow to my will.

So she'd committed a hack (okay, a LOT of hacks) but had she ever hurt anyone? Well, they deserved it. Hell hath no fury and all that.

Put yourself in my shoes. She thought. She had sacrificed her whole life for that rat bastard. And what had he done? Ignored her. Cast her aside like yesterday's trash.

She'd show him. She'd show them ALL.

That Frank fella. He wasn't no Ryan. But he did have his perks.

Damn. If only she had evaded security last night. So many what if's. Too many locks, not enough keys.

She stared down the security bot with a scathing look of hatred. Her death was only the beginning.

Hi everyone i finished my study goal early so i caught up on today.

I'm still not feeling too hot on samac and not really willing to move my vote from there. I just don't buy the gif thing. I don't buy that she was restricted then suddenly remembered that she had a first aid kit- that kinda seems like something you would think of a little sooner, not (from what i remember) a couple of hours later.

so imma stay on samac for now

besides that, I also wanna flip pawprints. it's not the most informative vote but i dont wanna take her to endgame with this level of activity. i don't see it as provillage at all and i cant endorse that

i see that trilt is in most people's poe's and i think it's interesting. I can get behind the post on pawprints bc ive gotten very similar impressions, but if tha majority of the village is not sure they're village i think there's some weight to that.

I think LIS is villig, and it makes me feel a little worse about zenge, but only enough to move him to the flexi end of the villig block

ill be back close to yeet tomorrow, keeping up and commenting throughout the day as time allots

Complete 180?

This is the reason why i was ok with the tie and why i was wolfreading you at that moment. Sorry that mechanics influences my POE even though they helped net all the wolves so far.
How did mechanics net Cyndia? Don't agree there.

Complete 180 is when you completely reverse a position.

I hate to break the news to you that a lot of Lawpy's posts are a lot of noise.

But no, I know that was tongue in cheek but seriously, please consider reading through the Cyndia lynch and looking at how our individual votes fell. Keep in mind you agreed with my Vissy push and have generally, I think, thought I've been contributing and game solving appropriately - because I have.

Anyway. It's well past my bedtime.
The main issue with this defense is it presupposes you being able to overrule Zenge and Cyndia and Alley. From what I can tell Zenge is headstrong, and I doubt Cyndia told him to basically out himself to the seer, so why should I think you would do any better?

And if you have sketch wolves making mistakes, what's a better wolf to do? Bus them and say "I'd never be that dumb!" That's what.

I agree with the reasoning behind your Paws lynch. But essentially the argument we've used to clear certain experienced players "Well gosh this player is too competent to be part of this wolf pack" you have to see what's wrong with that, right? It's WIFOM.

dude why would I fake that stupid ass restriction and then remove it off myself to draw attention to myself?

I started the game that morning, explained what kind of notification I got, I was working at night close and at first found it hilarious and was looking forward to it because it kind of sounded like fun.
I quickly became frustrated. That’s when I remembered Kata bought a first aid kit and went back to read the description. Asked the mods, had to wait for a response, then they asked me if I wanted to use it during rounds, responded after rounds and waited until the message for them to say I’m clear before I started posting here.

if it would have been something I bought I would have been vigilant of it from the start, but coming in as a sub or just took me a minute to even make the connection.

I already said it wouldn’t surprise me if mj did the wolf per group. If you read wz’s opening, it might hint that as well. I get the poo pooing, but we are dealing with an insane designer. Lol

now I will actually go back to April, Dina and gennys early reads for today’s vote when I get a chance.

Well of course. Any defense that doesn't involve being actually seered is going to require a pretty significant amount of WIFOM. It's the combination of everything, not my single argument that I hope people end up listening to.

And if you have sketch wolves making mistakes, what's a better wolf to do? Bus
Except I didn't. My VCA is why a lot of people are looking at me, because I was actually laughably bad until I got Cyndia last cycle.

I agree with the reasoning behind your Paws lynch. But essentially the argument we've used to clear certain experienced players "Well gosh this player is too competent to be part of this wolf pack" you have to see what's wrong with that, right? It's WIFOM
I see it's WIFOM, but I personally know it's not wrong, so... there's that, lol.
