I just don't understand, why me? I don't think I'm that awful? Part of me wonders if me getting really uncomfortable about them asking all sorts of questions about my family, like my deadbeat sister or my blue collar boyfriend, caused a problem? I just don't see how those kinds of questions are appropriate for an interview. I haven't been asked anything about my family, or lack therof, in any of my other interviews. I don't know.

t-funk I am really surprised and sorry you got treated that way at KCOM. How did they even know so much about your family? They barely asked me about my family at the interview. I think you should have complained to the Dean or admissions after, maybe they could have done something about that interviewer. There is a reason they chose you out of thousands of applications to interview, because they thought you would be a good fit for the school. I really don't understand the logic behind why that person was so rough on you.

I wonder if me just wanting to get the hell out of there after my interview caused a problem. I'm sure it showed. My feelings are still so hurt about the way I was treated while I was there. Thanks t-funk. I really do hate that you had such a rough time at the interview. Just going through this process I have come to the realization that we all have a school that is made for us(or vice versa). I had a very bad interview at an allopathic school(SIU) and I am so glad I didn't get in there. I would not have gone to DCOM or KCOM and get the peace associated with feeling "at home." Maybe some arcane force, unknown to us has already decided where we should be. I like to think that it is God, but that's just where my belief lies. If not God, then just order. The universe is an orderly place. A large orderly place at that. Disorder on the small scale will cause disorder in the whole. Maybe the universe bends and folds, changing paths in our lives to maintain that order(small scale). Alright I am done with my spiritual/butterfly effect analysis of med school admisions.

Yeah, I excused myself to the restroom and the girl giving us the tour came in bc she could tell I was upset and I said that I didn't think I was treated fairly during the interview. She told me she would take me up to the admissions office if I wanted to talk to someone and I said no. I did fill out an interviewer evaluation though. I just don't understand bc my other interviewer was so incredibly nice to me.

I believe in all this stuff too so I totally get you. Truth is, I already know why that had to happen and it was supposed to happen that way so I can't be that upset. It desn't change how it makes me feel though. But thanks, I'm glad to know there are other people who think about things like that.

I do believe that KCOM is a great school and you guys will both be happy there after you get your acceptance next week Desijigga.

One of my interviewers brought up that kind of point while I was at KCOM. He asked me about my previous application to med school, and we ended by talking about how things happen to get us where we're supposed to be. And, honestly, I couldn't be happier that I didn't get in last year. We'll all get to where we need to be! I think it goes to show too that not every interview can go so well.

That being said, hopefully in about 12 hours I'll hear from KCOM admissions and find out if that's where I'm supposed to be for the next couple of years...

Did you get your acceptance packet? I got mine and I didn't get the login info for the website. Didn't they say we would get that with the packet or was that after we paid the deposit?

I got accepted last wednesday but I haven't got my packet yet, I can't wait to send in my deposit and sign the agreement. That will make it real for me, just curious what did the agreement say about the last year of grades, I'm not worried just interested cause I'm pushing a B/C in Comparative Anatomy, which is supposed to be the toughest class our school offers, I'd hate to get kicked out if I messed up the final!!

Sorry to hear about your KCOM experience. Mine was hellish as well. I'm sorry to say this but complaining to Dean of Students really wouldn't have done anything.

Things happen for a reason. The problem is that we don't understand why. It would be nice if God would send us an email or something to explain it all. Have faith.

The agreement said nothing about the grades they expect you to maintain. I would agree that C or better would be the safe bet.

As for not getting the login information with you packet, I called KCOM with a few problems this being one of them. They said they will continue to send information out as they start getting agreements and deposits in. So stuff like your login info and vaccination information will be coming later on through out the year. So it's just another waiting game. Good luck

I was accepted to KCOM today and I am almost positive I will take the offer!!! I am so excited, because I think the school has the entire "package" (minus the night life). The facilities are nice, reputation is solid, people are friendly, and it stays true to its osteopathic roots (which is what I am looking for). I hope everyone that I interviewed with has the same luck!

I'm in kirksville right now. This is a really small town. I just ate some fajitas at this mexican food place. Let's just say that its not quite what I'm used to.

I am really looking forward to to my interview tomorrow. I've heard this place is just awesome.

They rented me a minivan at freaking avis this morning. I signed up for an economy car with good fuel economy, but when I walked out to my parking spot where they said the car would be, there was a minivan. I was going to go back in and complain, but I looked around the lot and it was almost all minivans and SUV's. Plus I was in a hurry. Who the hell rents a minivan?

I was kind of suprised I got called today. My admissions contact (which, I think, is the person that you had the admissions portion of your interview with) told me to call on Thursday to find out the results, so I didn't know he would be calling me.

Yeah, I didn't get the call either. I got a "rejection" email. Which sucks, because I loved the school and I thought the interviews went great. 🙁 I was totally ready to accept if we got in there. Oh well.

I just finished my interview. There isn't much to kirksville, but the school is a different story. They really show you why KCOM is the "brand name" DO school. I could easily go here. I am anxious to see how it all shakes out next week.

I interviewed at KCOM yesterday and I was very impressed with everything. The new building, especially the new OMM lab, is absolutely amazing! I can't wait to hear back next week. I'll send in the deposit immediately if accepted.

I haven't had a chance to check out chuck yet. I do think the show quality of prison break has diminished a little, nothing like season 1 and 2.

The deadline is December 14th on the agreement and its $1000. $500 by april 15th, and the other $500 may 15th.

check out atsudo.org. Its a site made by a student, I gleaned some good info from it. It seems a little outdated, but I doubt there were many changes.

I found out the next wednesday after my interview. That is when the committee meets. I am sure this is the same for everyone. So if you interview dec. 6th you should know something by the 12th no later than the 13th.
