that sounds wonderful, and i'm so relieved to hear about the covered parking -- it doesn't get too cold very often here, but i did have to peel an ice layer off my windshield last week before my 7 AM exam and that really pissed me off because i used almost all of my windshield fluid and probably damaged my wipers in the process, then i looked over and noticed the cars under the covered spaces didn't have this problem 😡 not to mention it's much cooler in the shade during the 120 degree summers.

Hey all just thought I would say hi and introduce myself here! I have an interview with AZCOM on the 24th (the day after UA sends out their last batch of acceptance letters before the waitlist).

I'm pretty excited about it. What I've read on this thread has really made me want to attend this school!

My friend Darren from SLC is interviewing that day, tell him summer says hi and good luck to the both of you!

I checked the interview schedule right now and found an earlier spot. Ill be interviewing this friday 2/20. I first signed up for 4/2. Thank God for the people who cancelled 🙂👍

i'll be interviewing with you on Friday. I just got the invite today and lucked out that Friday was available!! (I'm in the SMP at MWU so short notice wasn't a problem)

Would you mind telling me how this works to look and see if there are any open spots for earlier interviews? I see how you can reschedule on line, but I am fearful that if I click on that, I might end up loosing the spot I have. Is that how you did it? Did you need to contact them to let them know you switched? Or are you ok just doing it through the online system?

Thanks for any tips!

Hello all, I found about a week ago that i got in! I am thrilled, as this is my first acceptance, but i also have an interview coming up at TUCOM-NV, and want to see how that one turns out before i give an official yes or no. My deadline is currently 3/6, but i wanted to see about extending it. It would have to be pushed out about 3 weeks before i had an answer from TUCOM. Does anyone know how readily they give out extensions, and if they would even grant as much as 3 weeks?

Thanks for any help and good luck to you all!

I just saw that I got accepted, but I got into Western which is my first choice... AZCOM was great though... but I have to roll with Western's match list and it also keeps me in Cali!

I'm not sure if the same applies here, but I was able to get an extension for up to 1 month at another school. I would recommend emailing or calling the director of admissions -- $1000 is a lot of money and I'd be really surprised if they aren't willing to work with you.

After you schedule your date, a new button that says "reschedule" will appear on that same page, so you can continue to check for new dates up until the day before the interview. I ended up rescheduling mine 3 or 4 times online with no problems. It's definitely a little confusing since I know at other schools it's somewhat of a hassle to reschedule -- emailing, calling the office, etc. but it's all online here. Good luck!

Well Goodluck to you on Friday and Ill see you there. i will be wearing a dark navy suit, with a baby blue shirt and a dark blue tie !

anybody interviewing March 2nd? Thinking about catching a spring training game while I'm out there. any takers?

spring training??? do the diamondbacks play in glendale??

Hey congrats on Western! Although, it's a shame we can't meet up at all, haha. Thanks again for the help with TCOM too.

Good luck Flushot! Maybe we can all meet up in the world as accomplished professionals. I will be the one with the gold plated stethoscope.

think so. and the cubs actually play the d'backs on the 2nd. interview ends around the time the game starts tho.

Do you guys think it is bad to ask to an extension because I am waiting for another school's answer? Is that a legitimate reason in their eyes?

Hey thanks Cbo.

Megaroo, I don't even see why you need to give them a reason unless they ask for it. Just say you would like to request one and if they ask, just be honest about it. I'm sure that they deal with this often and that they understand.

too bad im leaving right after the interview on the 2nd

For those of you wondering about deadline extensions:

They do it.

I was actually surprised that the lady was so nice about it. Mine was originally due 2/25, I got it changed to 3/25. Told her that I was waiting to hear back from some other schools and did not want to rush my decision, she said she understood.

Who is this magical lady? Heather ....(don't know her last name). I think she is assitant director of admissions or something. Call the admissions office and ask if you can extend your deadline. They will connect you to her.

Her name is Heather Kim. Wonderful lady, really down to earth. She apologized like 10 times to me because I tried to get into a class this week to see how it is but they couldnt cause of finals week. Heres her email: [email protected]

That and Heather is also very influential. If you explain your situation to her and work with her, it might be enough to push your status along, at least, for those who haven't heard back yet.

the SD padres also spring train in peoria.....when I was at AZCOM for my interview a while back I actually stayed in a really nice hotel in Peoria (only about a 5-10 minute drive to the campus) and it was right across from a ton of restaurants and the spring training stadium. 👍

Thanks rennykim!! This helps a lot. I was just nervous to click on that button fearful that if I did I would loose the date I had secured and be bumped to May!

Great! It just worked! I was actually trying to switch my interview at CCOM and I figured it was the same system. I was able to bump my interview to a date that works much better (and is earlier) for me. Thanks for the reply.

I'm wait listed for an interview at AZ-COM. Is this common to be wait listed for an interview? I know people have moved off of the wait list for acceptance, but I'm not really familiar for the wait list for an interview. Do I have a shoot still at being interviewed?

re. the spring training conversation going around - if you have a chance you should definitely go to a game! I'm jealous!

how long does it take to hear about admittance after the interview?

it went pretty well I hope! Last thing one of them said was you did a very good job so we'll see they said two weeks and they will let us know. Anyone else interviewed today? 2/20

well that's encouraging!! haha wish i would've heard the same!!
and it might be less than 2 weeks because they will be meeting during our spring break, which is the week after next..so depending on what day that week they meet it could be anywhere from a lil over a week to two weeks

do they give you a pen and paper at the interview or should i bring my own portfolio?

They give you a folder with some information. I would bring a pen because I don't remember them giving me one. It's just like other interviews you'll probably have.

Well with my luck I wont hear back from them for another 3 weeks. I swear I never have any good luck with these kinda stuff.

I would call them in about another week. You can usually find out this way long before any letter or online update.

For courtesy reasons, you could, but Heather told us directly that the interviewer's judgment is already given on the same day. It's a nice thing to do but if you're wondering if it will affect admissions, it probably won't.

Thats what I was thinking, I dont know if its really worth it. On another note, Monday and Friday tests sounds like a total hell for me I dont know about all that!

Hello fellow interviewees for Wed 2/25! I'm really interested in checking out the program =)

Anyone know how full the class is right now? Getting a little nervous hearing about the waitlists...

Thanks!

There is only half the class filled ~125/250. So you have lots of time dont worry.

Heather also made mention of the fact that oftentimes the letters don't even make it to their intended parties...and may just get thrown out. So, you'd be better off finding out how to get the letter to the specific person without going through the admissions office if you really wanted to get a thank you out to your interviewers. Basically, the moral of the story is that it really makes no difference whatsoever at AZCOM so unless you had a really fantastic experience and feel a strong desire to thank someone...don't bother.

As far as the tests go...believe me, it's much better to be on that sort of testing schedule than to have 5-6 tests in one week around midterms. And, while they say that is the schedule...there are weeks during the first year where there isn't a test on Monday, and there are weeks during the second year where there aren't tests on both Monday and Friday. Most people seem to like the setup, so it can't be too bad.

so generally there is a test every M and F? That gives you no nights off or free time whatsoever.....oh well i guess its med school

For those of you now scheduling your interviews, when was your file complete? All of my stuff was in at the end of Jan, and I'm starting to believe I'll be applying again next year.

Yeah, if you get time, look at MWU's intranet site:

http://mwunet.midwestern.edu/

Take a look at the MS schedule they provide on AZ block schedules. It's pretty much a constant barrage throughout the quarter, a week break, then back to the grind. They don't let up at any time either, be it quizzes, presentations and what have you. If you like the regulated intensity, then it's the place for you.

I think you really have to evaluate what works for you too. Places like the Touros have a block testing week with 3 blocks per semester. There are only intermittent quizzes and such, but the combination of every lecture is compacted into one berserk week. Some people dig that style too.

I had to make this decision awhile back and it was a tough one, so make sure you take a look at that schedule.

You should call Heather. If your numbers look reasonable, it should've gone through by now. If you get to talk to her and show interest, you'll probably get the invite the day of or the next.

My file was complete around November and I was invited for interview about 3 weeks ago so I would say you still have more time. Just call Heather and check on your status. Remember they interview way up until May 5th.

Wow really? My secondaries were completed 11/21/2008 and got an invite 2/3/08 and interviewed 2/20/08. You should of checked the interview dates people kept on dropping!

Everyone keeps saying that the class is 50% full.

I just wanted to chime in that I interviewed on Jan 27th and was told the class was 50% full at that time. I was then offered a spot, along with the few people that I kept in touch with from the interview. So there's no way the class is as full today as it was a month ago.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but this 50% full thing doesn't ring true to my ears.

I did, but I had other interviews, etc that always conflicted 🙁
