The PM was pretty active on Wednesday and since then has died down a lot - we're on the second page of our PM's. I get the feeling Octo is really overwhelmed by the amount of posts in the thread because twice now in the PM he has stated that he is trying to read/catch up. He has given me a few reads too, but most have been piggybacking off of what other people have said. As for their knowledge, they haven't asked me much about how the game works and they know how to ISO (although it is not super hard to figure out on your own). Feels like a noob who has a good understanding of the game for not having played before.
Did the PM activity die down just around the time that you posted on the thread that you think he might know more about the game than he should for a village noob?

See, but in this theoretical timeline where the pack is laughing at me, you could be one of them 😂

What bothers you about zuri?
I don't like this logic.
But my current biggest suspicions are of viscernable… I think this might be noob bias but true looking into am and concluding that they’re always antagonistic without collecting precise data points and examples feels like a totally reasonable thing to do, and I feel like the way that vis needled at that behavior while also claiming to be going easy on true for being a noob feels like some shady attempts to cast legitimate detective work as nooby bumbling. I know some other people have mentioned suspicions and hesitancies with those suspicions so I’d love to know what others’ rationales are, but for me…
unyeet truenamer
yeet viscernable
I understand what Zuri is getting at, that visc was casting doubt over True's analysis of AM, but I don't think that's what Visc was doing. Like I pointed out before, the natural response to someone saying "oh hey I noticed this thing, and I believe in it strong enough to come on thread and say someone is village/town" is to ask "okay well what was the thing"

If True had provided us with examples and Visc went through and systematically tried to shoot down the examples or discredit True, or something more aggressive than follow up questions, I'd buy into Zuri's theory.

I also questioned True's AM read, but zuri singled out Visc over me. Inconsistency in applying their wolf-hunting logic.

Also

yeah my vote is still for vis on the simple logic that WildZoo had implicated them with a whole methodology and then got ate. i think it's easy to get wrapped up on reads on reads on reads, but to me the most suspicious people are the ones who WildZoo directly implicated so...

still yeet @Viscernable

This is not a great look for several reasons:
1. Using a dead villager's reads to push someone weirds me out because its sheeping someone without providing original content.
2. See above for the original reason Zuri had for voting Visc. Now its because WZ had Visc as a wolf read. This kind of fluctuating reasoning reads like a wolf flailing to justify their vote because they don't really have a strong reason to be there in the first place.

To be clear the reason I found visc suspicious in the first place was not their initial questioning of true, which seemed reasonable, but after true answered the “I’ll let you off for this one bc you’re a noob” struck me as a way to undermine on the basis of true being a noob while casting vis as a more seasoned but gracious player. This was after true had explained their approach and detailed some examples of the threads they looked at while declining to gather quotes. Again not questioning true but the response of “I’m only letting this slide because you’re a noob” That is one reason vis struck me as wolfy. The 2nd reason doesn’t contradict the 1st reason but reinforces it. That being that if someone gets killed by wolves I’m going to assume that at least some of their inklings about wolves were threatening to wolves and so I think it’s fair for the top of dubZ wolf list to be considered top suspects for the wolf thread. The rest of this game is trying to read tone into thousands of forum posts. The only hard data we have on the wolves are the 2 villagers they killed last night, so yes if their hard data supports my initial suspicions I might make a bigger deal on my initial suspicions and double down. I’m honestly fine with yeeting any of the leading suspects from DubZ list (April, Blue, Vis) though my leaning is still vis.

I don't like this logic.
What does "I don't like this logic" mean in context? You aren't really making sense.

You voted to yeet someone without a single word of explanation, and I just asked for more of your thoughts, which I think is pretty reasonable? Who people choose to vote for is one of the only actual things to discuss, everything else kind of boils down to inane quibbling about tone and phrasing.

Ftr if this weren’t your first game I’d be pushing harder about you allegedly making a pretty solid village read based on patterns that you can’t describe. But if you’re sincerely wolfhunting I don’t want to put you off your efforts by making it seem like wolfhunting just gets you more and more pressure vs laying low (not true, don’t go that route). To be clear, I’m not looking for an ISO or concrete examples or anything, just a general description. You’re approaching it in the second paragraph (I’m just unclear what the “different things” that you’re seeing are, exactly).
For the record, this is the vis post that struck me as off, not their initial challenge but their response after true had explained themselves

I think the rest of his post was the answer of not liking the logic no?

Okay I am a hot mess so slowly catching up and think it's more efficient to at least do it somewhat by page. I did skim ahead to at least see D1/N1 results and will also be getting to posts where I was tagged so anyway nobody look at me in all my shame thanks

🤩

uh a lot of people have actually disagreed with me and defended her. Which is fine, if y’all don’t see what I see then that’s okay. But I think she’s a noob wolf trying too hard to seem chill and relaxed and having stretchy jokes. Plus the fishing and weird angleshooting just gives me wolfy vibes. I don’t think I can blame it all on being a noob.

I’m confused because I’m not April. I’m not sure if you were referencing the original post that mentioned both of us, or only responding to the post where your April read shift was questioned. But April is not your lane partner, it’s just me.

I had a similar thought that puppy doctor seemed a bit too eager to follow me onto the fluffy vote. Almost like sheeping me but I’m trying to give her some benefit of the doubt for being a noob.
I know, I meant that I could PM you to talk to you more but couldn't do that with April, hence me placing a vote on her instead of you.

I'm interested that you brought up puppy at this point because I vaguely had the same feeling but don't remember you bringing it up until this post I'm quoting.
Feeling ok about pshelty
What about these posts that are largely answering easy game strat questions made you feel better about pshelty?
Meaty pls it’s based off of one of the earlier posts that was referencing the noob game and active wolfing and i was asking on grounds of a point of clarification
I just didn't understand why it was necessary or relevant to clarify that point.
Hmm. How are you reading fluffy?
Village side of neutral atm
What, this vote?

There’s literally no indication it’s not just RVS. Why would you expect them to react when no one else was sweating rvs votes?
I like this post

also again with the simplest logic, blue and ivy seems sus for being the ones the dead villagers finally voted for...
I'm not really feeling like that's the case with Blue - she really did seem sus yesterday (though reads more villagey to me now) and it seems reasonable for villagers to pick up on that and yeet there as an accidental misyeet.

I'd like to say that, from what I've seen in the noob game, blue plays jokingly a lot, which I think shouldn't be read too far into (re: vet01 and blue discourse in the NoWW noob game).

As for me, @zuriburi , no one knows who anyone else is, and I find that if a wolf NK'd someone who voted for them D1, that's just paints a big target on their back (I think this was said before too)... it's too reactionary at this point. I'm trying to look into who was interacting the most with genny and wz, and the one that comes to mind is AM with genny (assuming AM is wolf), although it could easily be the wolves framing AM (assuming AM is village). I'm more inclined to believe the latter

So in this specific case are you saying blue shouldn't be wolf read for joking, or shouldn't be village read for joking?

hmmmm hmmm. Posts like this are often what I feel icky about but relatively consistently you've still been village with them so I guess we'll see what happens this game.

+1 village point, though I haven't played with meats in so long that I can't remember how she sounds when she's wolfy.

hmmmm. Don't know if I like this post. Low hanging fruit something or other.
I don't know either, man

wait stoaty did you answer this?
I like this post if only for showing follow up for questions lol

About the genny kill, I'm more inclined to believe it was a villager who killed her, thinking they are catching a wolf. Genny seemed wolfy to a lot of us.

So in this specific case are you saying blue shouldn't be wolf read for joking, or shouldn't be village read for joking?
I feel like if it turns out blue is the opposite of what I say, I'm gonna be turned on lol, since it'll seem like I have inside info. Nonetheless, at this point in the game it seems like you shouldn't read blue's posts as wolfy.

Ah yes the third option. This also seems likely. AM still definitely reading villagey to me since, from what I've heard from WW vets itt, they are always kind of abrasive (I mean this in the nicest way possible @Animal Midwife ).

I am quite literally 12 pages behind but this caught my eye. This is real weird reasoning, especially regarding a player who typically gets more benefit of the doubt than D1 feels since she is difficult to read. Although if this was a night vig kill I can hear AM in the distance shedding a proud tear at someone narrowing the POE instantly on N1 lol

Were you finding her wolfy because Vis was letting it slide, or the tone that Vis seemed to say it in?
I think it's pretty reasonable and common for noobs to be let off the hook for things early in one of their first non-manatored games.

Also I would like to bring up something. A lot of you have played with each other over and over and have built meta about your wolf vs village personas. But you are trying to apply the same logic to us who only played 1-2 games max before. So, there are some players here talking about me being "on brand" and @bluestoat "not acting like the noob game - being wolfier". I honestly don't even know what my wolf meta would be like - I barely know how I sound like being my village self, cause I'm slowly building on it by playing more games. I did joke a lot on D1 and was a bit cheeky but it was mostly out of excitement to discuss different theories and excitement to be playing again. And I do think that might become more common about me, the more I get to play with you all and the more I get to know you. So, please don't judge us just by how different we were in previous games. We will be different, cause its a different game and we have more experience.

this wasn't my opinion. @Animal Midwife discussed it too this morning.

When it comes down to it we don’t know and probably won’t know until we have more information. We don’t know at this point and i think continuing to talk in circles about it is exactly what wolves would want us to do.
I don’t think NKA is going to get us much further and focusing on the threadstate might be more fruitful.

This is a good point, yet blue in the noob game was essentially like two rounds due to rezzing. Anyways, still a good point that metas aren't solid on us (nor are they reliable in general imo). Yet I'm still inclined to believe my blue read.

Villagers are allowed to be wrong - if we had all the answers, we wouldn't be playing the game.
Regardless, that's what I was saying - that I'm not reading Blue's posts wolfy right now. I just said I think it was pretty reasonable for people to read her wolfy yesterday, especially the people who haven't played with her directly before.

Well, every game leads to more experience. Personally, I don't play with meta unless there's an impossible to ignore pattern. For the most part, I only care about what people say in relation to the game they're in.

@youngkal Is there a reason you opted to self-prez on Blue instead of Vis?
Honestly nope. I think WZ had said they thought maybe Bluey was in the lead so I went there but also I dont remember any of VIS posts either so I just picked one
This is interesting

Hm. I will note you at least omitted Owlympics off the top of my head but I swear there were more incorrect reads than this.
i also forgot wwedding.
genny pls why do you hate my games?

This was......weird......
And you're being nit-picky about weird things

What does "I don't like this logic" mean in context? You aren't really making sense.

Not your logic. I didn’t like Zuri’s logic re: Visc

To be honest I expected someone to be voting me when I got back because of my schedule. I was tasty misyeet bait as someone whos always active who’s missing for like 12 hours.
but then that’s not the reason she gave. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
I will never yeet someone for being absent, as someone who also frequently disappears for 12 hours. Absenteeism is a dumb reason to vote a player.
Not especially, but I just recently woke up. Mel is being very forward, but I think that's normal for him and reads more as an assertive villager trying to unsettle wolves. I don't think I've seen enough from other people yet this morning outside of bantering with Mel.
is anyone else getting heebie jeebies at a lot of shelter's posts sounding like they've seen more games than they actually have?

Don’t think WZ was vig’d because she was on most people’s village lists I believe
Since when?

Who? I think a lot of the vets enjoy playing with dubz, and dubz always admits she usually doesn't get a wolf D1 anyway. I'd be more inclined to think a vet would make that kill if they were having trouble keeping up with thread volume. And, I'd be more willing to think it was another vet wolf if it wasn't two of the vets killed. I don't see why a vet would want genny dead so early, usually she gains a lot of sketch points and she's pretty busy and usually not on the thread a lot. I agree with Mel here.
This is pretty wishy-washy and I'm not even sure I understand how you're agreeing with Mel here. You think a vet would've killed Dubz, but you don't think a vet killed genny, so you agree with Mel because he said Dubz was probably a NK?
