I've heard the OOS waitlist moves a lot! I will most likely accept my offer unless I have a major change in life circumstances before April 15.

I checked back on c/o 2028 threads and this seemed to have happened last year. I could not tell if all acceptances were sent out, then all alternates, then all rejection though since people weren't giving a ton of timing info in their posts

I had a file review with them but received an OOS rejection today, honestly - I don't think the file review was helpful, it was very pleasant but even at the time I didn't walk away feeling as if it helped me. I also don't think the visit to campus was worth my investment of time and money. Congratulations to those accepted.

I'm a second time applicant to Cornell, last cycle I was a rejection this time an alternate so I guess improvement? But honestly I don't think I got any make or break recommendations from my file review either. Biggest thing was I initially counted some research hours as animal experience and she recommended I keep those as sole research hours. I really put my heart and soul into my essays last year so I also wanted to know how much I needed to change those if at all for the upcoming cycle.

Last week I couldn't sleep and went down the rabbit hole of reading all the past Cornell threads on SDN. Yes, all of them...what can I say I make sure to do my homework 😳 One year they actually ran out of people on the wait list and called a couple people who were rejected in August. Doubt they'll be making the same mistake again but there are a fair number of OOS accepted who ultimately decline for affordability reasons or to attend a school that better fits their niche interest.

An Easter egg if you go through the old threads a video of the male vet students' parody of Uptown Funk 🤣
Edit: oh and they also sold a calendar as a fundraiser with photos of the more "hunky" male students holding cute animals. I'm old enough to remember when "hunky firefighter" calendars were a thing.
