Drexel vs USF

I was lucky enough to be accepted to both Drexel University and the University of South Florida. Interested in hearing some opinions on the schools in general, areas, etc. 🙂

Price isn't much of a difference at all, though Tampa is much cheaper than Philly.

USF hands down! Personally I think they have a great curriculum and prepare very well by testing in STEP 1 format and test all of your classes combined, similar to STEP 1. Plus the administration is awesome and the students are all very down to earth. My 2 cents...

I would say the exact same for Drexel. I had a similar choice and went with Drexel for the PIL program and the fact that they have a significant amount of CA matches for residency and thats eventually where I want to end up. Keep in mind I've never seen USF's.

Are you accepted to the SELECT program???

If you are then you can go to USF for first 2 years and end up back in your home state for the latter 2. this in turn means potentially matching back in an area closer to home if that is what you want. That might be the best in your case if you want to go back to Pennsylvania.

Most people who go to USF match in the area but there are more and more people matching out of state at their top choices and people going into competitive fields and not just staying in tampa these days or so it seems.

I interview in April, I'm not sure if they have accepted anyone yet, my friend interviewed in the first group and hasn't heard back. I'm not sure that would be the best situation for me because my boyfriend's job isn't the type you can relocate every few years.
