Secondary invite just now, submitting tonight. Really excited about this school. Auburn was my only designation for those of you that have waited longer than multi-designation applicants.
 
I think it would be a really great experience being an inaugural class, I looking forward to this school!
 
For those of you who got secondaries, how long after your aacomas was verified did you receive a secondary? I've been verified for two weeks and this is the last osteopathic secondary I have yet to receive.

Was this your only VCOM designation? Auburn was my only designation, my AACOMAS was downloaded by Auburn on 7/17, secondary on 8/26.
 
Also, if Auburn was the only VCOM designation, it has taken awhile because they are going through the initial steps of accreditation still.

It can take 2 weeks to three months for them to review your file and decide on sending you a secondary.

My application is also complete! I'm really hopeful that Auburn will work out. It would be awesome to pioneer their first graduating class!
 
I was not going to apply this year and further develop my app, but a friend of mine told me I should with my stats. 3.96c, 3.96s, 27 MCAT. Should I wait until next year? Or should I go ahead and apply?
 
I agree with your friend. I've got lower stats and have 4 interviews.. (I'm still really hoping to hear from here though!)

Just keep in mind starting an application now is starting to get close to being late in the cycle but your defiantly competitive for DO so chin up 🙂
 
I'm hearing a lot of rumors that this school will not be able to adequately support the students with rotations sites and residency acceptance because of competition with ACOM. Is there any truth behind this?
 
II yesterday! Got a call from the director of admissions and scheduled for 10/16.

How do you apply to all three with one secondary exactly? I applied to the Carolinas one but would like to be an option for all three?

This is a little more complicated. I've been complete since 9/12, but I think they lost me at VCOM. I emailed them Friday because I had not received the completed email from them yet. So this morning I received the completed email with the statement that I would hear from them "in September after they met on my application." Then they called me this evening. I'm not sure that helps.

II today for many dates through October...28 MCAT, sGPA 3.25, cGPA 3.65...secondary completed in late August, but I ranked Virginia as #1, not sure why Auburn is the on that contacted me...looks like it could be a good place though!
 
Yay! II today! Unfortunately I can't make any of the October dates so I'm not sure when I'll be going but I'm super excited!
 
I got a phone call for an II today. Complete 9/4. The interview is scheduled for 10/22 for the Auburn campus. The person I spoke with in Admissions was from the Carolina campus, since the Auburn building is not complete. They said they are holding interviews at Auburn, though. I asked about the possibility of a slot at the VC campus if I am accepted after the interview (I reported that as my first choice on my app), and she said it was a possibility. Anyone know anything about how that works, in terms of campus selection?

Regardless, I'm very excited, and would be perfectly happy going to VCOM-A. I drove through Blacksburg and Auburn a few weekends ago, and both towns seemed really great! For those interested, stats are 3.4/3.3/27. I also posted this in the VCOM-VA thread; sorry for the cross-post, but I figured it would be okay in this instance. 🙂

So excited! I got a call from admissions, with a SC area code, who asked if I were interested in an interview for the Auburn campus. Auburn is my top choice out of the three campuses since it's close to home for me. I am scheduled for 10/22 and now awaiting for the confirmation email with my date and time. She said the time was most likely going to be from 8:30am to 3:00pm.
 
II this morning! Scheduled for 10/16. OOS. 26 MCAT, 3.7 sGPA. 3.85 cGPA. Not from a rural place, but working as a Firefighter/Paramedic for Native American Indian Community for 7 years. Best of luck to everyone.

At my interview at the Virginia campus, we were told that if we were accepted and wanted to attend a different campus, just to let them know and if there were spots open at the other campus we could. Good luck!

The interview was held in their temporary offices in the school of Kinesiology. One of my interviews was in an office and the other was in a conference room. Incredibly conversational. Spent one interview (30 mins) talking about OMM/OMT for pretty much the entire session, which was totally cool. The staff and faculty are there to make sure we succeed as students. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Just wondering, did they talk much about the setup of the curriculum. Will they be doing the same as the other VCOM campuses? Also, are they recruiting all new professors, or are there professors that teach at Auburn (Biochem, etc.) that will be teaching at the Med school as well? Did you feel comfortable that they would have sufficient rotations and clinics for the upcoming students? Did they mention anything about a relationship with a teaching hospital? Sorry for the questions, just thought many of us would like to know before we go out for the interviews...overall, were you excited about the program?
 
I love hearing all these positive things about this school, definitely my top choice. But currently freaking out considering my primary hasn't verified yet. But hopefully this won't be AS big of a deal since they just started interviews.
