GlobetWWotting: Food Edition - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Okay so I was suffocated to death last night by something milky and caramelly and was so unsurprised that Dana role-revealed as tres leches that I was SCREAMING at the fake write-up.

@Truenamer @Dana_May_B I think it's fair to say that the pack had various extenuating circumstances and this one doesn't really count, we should aim to try this again with better life circumstances for the wolf team
yeah i will say- i didn’t abandon the pack with my partying haha. genny had some real life stuff which is completely fair and i absolutely understand. i was hamming up my drunkenness during true’s yeet tho, it was just gonna put me in a tricky spot to randomly pop in and start defending him no matter what that night. i was more active in wolf chat than the game thread that night for sure

@Dana_May_B lol I vaguely suspected that but the fearful side of me was worried that it wasn't so. I mean, what could anyone do at that point?

Day 3

View attachment 351328

The trip across the border was comparatively short after all the lengthy flights, extended layovers, and hours of waiting to get to the next destination. A few hours in the car was nothing after that! And who didn't love a trip to Latin America?

After multiple days where their preferred dishes had either been sent back to the kitchen or were unavailable for eating, our weary travelers were starting to get testy. Tempers were flaring. Punctuation was everywhere. And people were disinclined to believe the things they heard because the flavor just seemed like it came from a Rachel Ray recipe, not a Michelin-starred chef. It was ... fine. But it wasn't what they came for, nor what they wanted.

She'd known that she was going to be under fire. But who could blame her for liking carbs? For loving paella? She was simply a cultured individual - she didn't have any vendettas out for anyone, she was just there for good food and good wine.

And maybe some other good vibing beverages. Gotta take advantage of the local fare on spring break!

She'd had an uphill battle, for sure. But despite the challenges she faced, she'd kept that light, bubbly attitude - the same one that made her such a delectable treat. Sure, the dulche de leche could be a little sticky, and that could be perilous for someone who happened to inhale while some of it was being poured - but that wasn't her fault! She was just existing as the sugary, rich treat that she was.

After a week of travels, the group had enough of rich, filling foods. They had no interest in the tasty cake anymore, they just wanted to rest and dwell on their memories of the trip around the world. But first, they needed to take care of the delightful good sport who had taunted them with her promises of 3 kinds of milk and all the sugar you could want.

Of course not! It just means that you're lucky enough to now be able to try these delicious foods for the first time!

Yay good job village!

hahaha thank y’all for a great game!!! i had such a fun time even tho our wolf pack clearly did not stand a chance against y’all amazing villagers! just gotta say my proudest moment was getting absolutely blackout hydrated during the genny yeet and still not rojoing hahaha
i am truly gonna miss you guys and WW for the next few months!!!! :biglove:
Will miss you Dana!! Good luck finishing up your first year!

I think it went well! It was a capstone, not a thesis, so I was giving a 30 minute presentation on the research I did as well as my own thoughts. The topic I picked was behavioral euthanasia in animal shelters, so not exactly the most fun thing but very relevant and I think extremely important. I'm sick and tired of shelters throwing out dogs that are significant bite risks or are too terrified to live in a home.

Also i said this in tot chat but the last time i wolfed in a regular WW game was 2 years ago in Meats Reading List… and seeing the crushing village performances so far… i don’t want to wolf ever again pls. Only village or 3P pls :bag::sorry:
Woah hey woah
As I recall, I was crushed by a cult :rage:

I couldn’t have asked for a better melding partner. You made it easy for me 😀
I really think you helped a TON with your wolf-catching magic! I know Stoat felt uncomfortable about True, but if you hadn't backed her up and moved your vote around, the pandemonium that we witnessed wouldn't have happened, and please would probably have gotten yeeted. I was more leaning towards violet as please's packmate so I was still waaay off. It was only when Stoat sad-reacted True's broccoli answer that I saw it.

Ok but I need to turn yall on to quesadilla
And I know what you’re thinking
Pleasey everyone knows what a quesadilla is
But no
You do not
This is not the tortilla and cheese savory quick dinner quesadilla you know and love
This is is Salvi quesadilla and it’s a desert
Think like cheesecake kinda but bread
You can also make it with rice flour and it’s soooo good!

This was the most authentic recipe I can find. When you’re making it here in the states you can use sour cream instead of the crema and cojita or queso fresco instead of Salvadoran cheese
Best baked in a shallow dish and allowed to cool
Best served around 9pm with friends and good coffee, with good music and conversation

@Dana_May_B did you really think you had switched to genny or was that fake?
hahaha ok yes i absolutely knew i didn’t vote genny. that was a plan drunk dana came up with all on her own. i thought if i replied to PSV’s genny vote and said omg you ninja’d me, y’all would believe that i thought i had voted 🤣 probably would have been more convincing if i just posted an incorrectly formatted vote, but i wasn’t really thinking straight haha

Great job, players!! Not too much choking, look at y’all.
I promptly fell asleep after my last tally so I missed all the shenanis last night.

Thanks as always to the dear mod squad of @supershorty and @Dinashadow - you two are AWESOME. :biglove::biglove::biglove:

And shout out esp to @Dana_May_B - you were an excellent sport and super positive throughout. And dedicated playing on spring break. Will miss you til semester end!!

@Dana_May_B I was looking at the language of beauty mark placement in 1700s France, and I stumbled on mole astrology. Thought it would give you a chuckle. I have a small mole on my right cheek a little lower down so I was trying to remember what the French would have said of it 300 years ago.

This gave me a good laugh, especially the use of the term "moleosophy."
Alas, for people who are moley everywhere, astrology gives conflicting information. I will apparently spend extravagantly despite earning well and will also know how to manage my money.

Lol same here. Other than my face, pretty sure I have every single mole that's mentioned, even one on my palm. And I probably have 50% of the face ones too  I would cause great confusion to a moleographer
