Does anyone's application status still say "none"? I emailed them a month ago and got a response from Katie saying it will be updated once she begins my academic review. The only GPA up their is my cumulative, my scores and everything else are listed as "received". Just wondering if anyone else has not had a change in application status. Thanks!
Sorry - can't help alleviate your anxiety. Mine is complete and under review.

As in... Tomorrow?? Last year the application closed in October right? You would think it'd be a bit earlier this year... oh well. Good luck to all you IS! I'm contract so hopefully I'll hear soon too!
Yeah, you'd certainly think so. Though apparently several vet schools have gone on record saying that there was a big delay with VMCAS getting application materials actually distributed out this cycle.

I have the same exact thing as you! I've been checking daily to see if anything has updated but nope. 🙁

I was in the same boat up until yesterday. Mine changed from none to committee review and my GPAs still aren't posted so try not to worry too much! They may just be behind in changing the status or something

They did say 3-4 weeks tho, and Saturday will be 3 weeks...
True... But last year the earliest interview invites were sent out October 20th, and the first interview weekend was November 5/6... That's not even three weeks ahead of time. So if we go by that number, we will hear Monday. But you're right... it's ridiculous we haven't heard yet! The first interview weekend is less than four weeks away!

It seems like the past 3 years or so the interview invites have been sent 15-17 days before the interview date. That means maybe a week from today or tomorrow seems more likely? As a contract, I'm really not expecting to hear anything but I think it's exciting that the process is rolling. Also, from what I understand even if you interview early don't you still have to wait until February to find out if you get accepted? I don't think I'd be able to handle that wait!

Also I was thinking about it. I submitted my app. in August, which was three months ago and in another three months it will be February when I may very well know my fate. Essentially this process is half-way done... crazy to think about.

Mine still says none! I messaged them and they said to not worry and my application is still under consideration.

I love the idea of making travel plans across the country given only 2 weeks notice

Well I looked at the last 3 years and the dates were somewhere between the 13th and the 15th for interviews that were the first weekend of Dec. Since the 13-15 is a weekend, I was hopeful it'd come earlier because like Caiter said, I have a bunch of conflicts I'd have to reschedule and finding people to cover shifts at work and the idea of figuring out what to do about my dog and buying flights and hotels and ahhh.

Of course who am I kidding though... because I would just be so elated that all those other things wouldn't seem like an issue at all.

You'll be the first to know since you're IS! Any inside knowledge you can provide from Ames? Haha just swing by the admissions office tomorrow and tell them we're all dying to know and could they PLEASE hurry up!!
All I know is that they've been updating portals like crazy every day, so I know they are close... I JUST WANT TO KNOW. COME ON, ISU.

Updating portals? Mine hasn't changed at all since the complete/under review...
Mine has only been updated once as well! But they have a TON to go through! I know it's taking them a long time, and I think they try to get through most applicants before sending invites? I'm not sure. Are you in academic or committee review?

I'm pretty sure committee but for some reason I can't get into Iowa's portal on my phone and since its 11:00 over here, I'm not getting out of bed to check . Yes, I stalk SDN every night while I'm in bed. Don't act like you all don't do the same.

Exactly what I'm doing right now

No I don't think so! Everyone who heard on this board at least is a contract. Maybe they're switching it up.
Yeah, agreed. Strange to see none of the IS posted on here yet. Don't give up hope!!

Did someone see how many spots there were total? There were 6 for each time but I didn't think to look at how many times there were over the two days

Spoke too soon! JUST GOT AN INTERVIEW! The weekend of December 5th-6th! :soexcited:😍

So they are doing some OOS applicants right now! Ahhh!
What are your stats? 🙂
Did anyone else that is OOS get an interview yet?

Hey, sorry that I didn't get back to you earlier; I got the email in the middle of biochem. Haha. 🙂

As calculated by ISU, my cum GPA is ~3.2, science is ~3.4, and my last 45 hours is ~3.6. Hopefully that's helpful to you!

AHHH! I am so excited to meet you all! :biglove: I went ahead and scheduled my interview for December 6th at 2 PM.
We're twins! I was also in the middle of Biochem when I got the email. Needless to say, I didn't pay attention for the remainder of the class.

I was in the middle of my capstone class doing some girl's peer review. I felt a little bad that I only ended up with 2 comments for her but I was only half reading it while half booking flights and texting everyone I know.

What hotel are you staying at? I booked the car and flight (perk of being older than 25: no extra hurdles trying to rent a car) but haven't looked into hotel yet.

The hotel is Hilton Garden Ames

I'm only 21, but rented the car in my mom's name since she's travelling up with me, so no issues there.

Does anyone know if there will be any kind of tour happening the day of the interview?

They did interview one South Dakota student last year during the first weekend... Is SD a contract state, or no?
