Ireland and UK Vet School c/o 2024 hopefuls

I got a conditional offer of acceptance from Dublin based on the completion of two of their requirement courses with a grade above a C which I did. Does anyone know how we go about sending our transcripts to them as proof?

I suggest emailing the admissions team directly and asking about why that happened. If you have even an unofficial copy of your transcript for now maybe attach that to the email too, if you have a digital copy. That way they can assess any mistakes faster if needed rather than having to send multiple emails back and forth with the time difference etc.
 
For those that have/had interviews this week, did they say when we can expect to hear back about a decision?
 
They told me they go back to Dublin next week to confer, so 2-3 weeks; so by the end of January.
 
Any feedback for the Dublin interview?? Mine is tomorrow morning!!
 
Mine was very relaxed. They seemed to really value personal awareness, and being able to justify any flaws in my application.
Just be able to convey your experiences as being incredibly valuable, and be aware of some of the "issues" about going to vet school and express that you have a plan to deal with them
 
For some reason I thought I would get an email, and I had yet to hear anything.... Yesterday, I went onto my UCD portal and there the offer letter was...since Dec 3. I have been loosing sleep since December and the direct letter of acceptance was there the whole time smh.

Wow that's strange that you didnt get an email! I got an email telling me my application status had changed and that I should check the portal. Congrats on your acceptance! Maybe I'll see you this coming fall 🙂

When did you get your email? I interviewed Jan 10th and am still waiting to hear back.

I was accepted on Dec 10th without interview! I actually posted about my acceptance a while back in this thread. I'm just constantly checking back to see who else got accepted cause I'm excited to see who might be going to UCD in fall!

Are you still waiting to hear from other schools or is Dublin your #1 choice?
If OVC doesn't accept me I'm like 98% confident I'll be at Dublin in September. I'm also graduate entry! I've been so excited I've just about gone through UCDs website like 20 times 🙂
 
Dublin is my number one choice so I'm set haha. I really like the school from what I've learned and I lived in Northern Ireland last year for school. So I already have relationships over there, which is an unnecessary plus haha
 
I just interviewed with Edinburgh, so I honestly don't know which one I want more. Both countries are so enticing! I'm just happy to be across the pond and not at SGU for travels sake (and my poor fair skin lol).

Wow that's great that you already know people there! My biggest worry is being away from my family for the first time in my life. Not sure how I'll do with the stress of being away and vet school in general!

I feel like I should clarify that I'm American (Californian), for my schooling to make better sense haha. I had my undergrad at UNR which was 2 hours away from my folks. So I didn't really go cold turkey on living away from family. But I have lived this far away from them this past last year so my real advice is to schedule facetimes for sure and trips back home and for them to visit you. Having a good friend group is also a plus to give yourself an outlet for comfort. 🙂

I am most likely going to be turning down my offer, I am just waiting until my paperwork is official at the school I am choosing. I don't know if they do waitlists or anything but maybe you'll get my spot if that's the case.

Congrats on your other offers!!!!!

I just haven't received anything, no waitlist info, no rejection, and no change in my portal whatsoever either.. overthinking everything at this point lol.
 
If you haven't heard at all its probably because they're not done sorting through candidates fully. some people will turn down their offer at a school and they will look to the next candidate. if you have received rejection already they wouldn't have offered you a spot in the first place. otherwise just be patient. I have two UK offers I plan to turn down and I'm sure others do as well. i just have to confirm something with RVC before I give up my other spaces.

Did you have to buy any materials on your own for vet school or does UCD provide you with them? Ex. Stethoscope, coveralls, scrubs, boots etc.

you’re required to provide all your own equipment. They do take you to a shop during orientation where you can buy a pair of wellies & coveralls

no formal list, but you are made aware ofwhat you need. Coveralls & steel toed wellies for large animal work, wellies for anatomy, lab coat, stethoscopefor practicals. Green scrubs for final year, etc.
 
Just got my acceptance this morning as well!! Anyone from NY or NJ or surrounding areas?! I'm 100% attending. I'm so pumped!!

I'm from NY! I would be coming from Brooklyn, but not sure if I'll attend, because I got accepted to VAMD. Wherever is cheaper lol

Got accepted to Dublin and think I will probably accept it. But I am planning on moving over there with a dog. Anyone have any suggestions on figuring dog friendly housing for the first term?
