I certainly didn't want you thinking that you died because you told me. I killed you the next night because you announced it to the group that you had no item.
 
I have to say, the best part was catching FTB and alaskandream 🙂 I felt useful and clever.

Then I had to ruin it all by failing over the dart gun.
 
Oh well. Kinda weird how everyone was ALMOST right about me being converted!

Still loved my team... For a while!

I haven't felt rested since the start of the Hunger Games WW. My dreams have been filled with strategy, jabberjays, and hungry dinosaurs :laugh:

Have to congratulate cuitlamiztli on an awesome game. You really used the book and movie VERY well. Wished you'd incorporated my nedry plan though. I seriously HATE that dude 😀

oh yeah btw TigerWillow, if I would have been in your group I would have failed the crap out of your verification test as I had a role PM that did not have the same message as the rest of you, and I would not have wanted to reveal that to you until I investigated you, so I'm not really sure that your test is a very good idea....

It wasn't to necessarily mark you as a wolf. I wasn't sure if FTB had an item or was a wolf. It just made me more WARY of her.

That's why it was pretty lucky to get those goggles at the time I did. I actually talked to FTB the most bc either a) I could create rapport or b) I'd learn some valuable info
 
In fact, I didn't tell the other two that her response didn't match ours. And I told FTB I wouldn't tell them she had an item.

But I'm wary of EVERYONE.

It just seems like a good way to alienate the crap out of your seer or healer or guardian or whatever, which doesn't seem like a great idea. If it's an investigative role fine, like if it were me you would have been the second one on my list to investigate after the leader. But if I were say...a healer, I would be super suspicious of someone who asked me something like that straight up and would probably not say anything that matters to them at all 😛

When I did this with TW and FTB in the Hunger Game version, I first asked if they were tributes and if they said yes, then use the test to confirm. The problem with the test is obviously once a moderator knows about it, all they have to do is vary the PMs they send to the villagers.

I didn't follow along, what is this "test" you are talking about? Please explain. I would like to learn.
 
from what i can gather, they're asking team members to regurg the mod's PM to them with the role, with part of it included and the rest like "fill in the blank" which as far as I can tell on other forums where this game is played is an absolute taboo thing to do, and I certainly wouldn't trust someone who asked me to do the same...

I see your point. But it got us two wolves. I'd probably not use it again, but for this game it helped me out quite a bit.

Remember, I am a semi noob. Only my second game (I don't really count HG, since I bit the dust first)
 
What We've Learned:

1. Don't out a teammate as having an item or role (unless that role is "wolf"!)
2. Don't trust (or use?) the "villager test".
3. Silence does not equal guilty.

...and much more!

Have only played twice, both times in this forum and hadn't heard that this was out of bounds.

i am not in the least bit powerful, and this was only my 3rd game too....just was reading up on how this is done elsewhere to get an idea for what kind of roles were common and such...
 
Well, I dont think ANYONE will ever use that test again!
 
This game was stupid fun. When I read the ending I was like, "Oh SNAP!". 🙂

Just got home from work and caught up with all of this.

This was incredibly fun. I have to say it is much different being a mod and knowing everything that is going on. It can be quite entertaining to see all the different theories that everyone comes up with.

Cuit was AMAZING!!! She created all of the write-ups and is much more creative than I am.

Her and I spent quite a bit of time PMing back and forth before the game even started putting together roles and items. It was a lot of fun!

I am glad that she was able to do the modding because with my work schedule we would probably just be starting night 6.

It was lots of fun modding with you cuit!! 😀

hehe and it helped us out too 😀 we were able to identify who in our groups could have potential roles and them wipe em out, thanks TW 😀!!! though it really did come back to bite us in the butt!!! it was a good thing no one in my group was still around or else I would have been outed wayy sooner!

and ditto to all of the praise for this game!!! as much as us Rogue Dinos wined that we were being killed off too soon, it was an AWESOME game 🙂 and fantastically modded. 👍👍 Cuitz and DVMDream

lol so really it didn't actually end up helping the students much at all, lost 2 players with roles super early and got 2 wolves. kind of a wash... 😉

I'll say I was a better player in the Disney game. This one was way more difficult.

Agreed. And after being a wolf twice now, I really don't know which I like better. Being a wolf is hard!!!! I felt like I was overcompensating my "normalness I'm not a bad guy" vibe all the time!
 
I do hope you realize I'm not like, attacking you TW - I just really like to analyze what happened in game and why people did what they did and whether it was a good idea or not retrospectively because 1) it's fun to do and 2) will help in future games. 😀

Haha I always feel you do! But you're right- I had no clue that the wolves coulda stole my idea. You should have seen my face irl when I saw everyone's "villager test!" I wanted to KILL FTB, again! Just goes to show you have to think of the consequences of every move.

And some of the things I did for the last game helped me diddly squat for this game. To quote Kaydubs, "le sigh."

I'd feel it would be great fun to be on your team, Nyanko. 😀 especially if we were wolves.

i always think being a wolf would probably be pretty fun but 2/3 games i've played in i've had a role of some kind and the other i was just a villager.

but yeah, ask nordicat about being on my team, lol poor thing 😉
 
Being a wolf is hard. So many PMs. I haven't done that much reading since my British lit until 1800 class 11 years ago!!!

Yeah I assumed it was pretty PM heavy - to be 100% honest (and this was kind of a bad strategy in retrospect to use outside-of-game stuff like this but oh well...) I suspected alaskandream and was going to investigate right after katie8 because of the PM inbox full thing - even with a night role the villagers just generally aren't going to PM quite as much as wolves so it was super suspicious to me.

Just got home from the pub and had to call a cab for the Irish lad who followed me home. :laugh: Oh those silly Irish boys. On top of that, some man 18 yrs my senior asked me out to dinner - I think I broke his heart. I felt really badly, but I tend to try to stick in the 10 yr bracket.

So anyhow, I am headed to bed.... as it is 4 am here -but perhaps will say more tomorrow!

Job well done students - and good job kitten (jjohnston) for taking out dyachei!!!!!
 
Ahahaha that darn villager test. bbeventer had me fooled...which is what ended me. 😳

What was with your lucky box thing dyachei? FTB had me suspicious, hence my investigation, but there's only so much you can learn with items only!!! And yes, I did send my PM in really late that one "night"--sorry I made you all wait. I thought I was a goner when Cuit and I posted at the same time!!

Seriously. It's no joke. There were times when I just deleted 50 PMs and read the latest 5 or 6. But I did feel popular for once, so I guess that's a cool thing about being a wolf. 😉
