When did your AACOMAS app get verified? I'm getting antsy about receiving this secondary
My AACOMAS App was verified on 06/09. I called today to make sure everything was OK because I recently was hacked and all my emails were deleted. She told me that it looks like I am "set" to have one sent to me today. Our conversation was at 9am and I received the email around noon today.

My admission portal says that my LECOM Erie application is "Under review". My Lecom B just says "processed".. Hmm...

It is awfully quiet for me. However, I just submitted my secondary this week so hopefully I will hear something soon. I feel like I stand a slight chance of getting an interview here, but who knows.

Ehh, I'm not looking forward to it.

I really don't want to sound like a gunner or anything. I should keep my mouth shut.

I'd love to be in your position right now lol. LECOM is a great school.

Haha, I just drove to LECOM. The campus is small but the buildings look nice!

I'm from the city, so this is a HUGE change of scenery for me.

Good luck with interview! Tell us how it is!

Will do...I'm okay with one on one interviews, but in a group interview, it makes it more difficult to stand out without sounding like a gunner, or making a serious impression on them with amazing responses.

For those who applied to Bradenton campus -- how long did it take to receive your secondary once your AACOMAS app was verified? Mine was verified on 7/6 but I still haven't heard anything from this school. Should I be worried?

MrBen, for which campus if you don't mind me asking, and what are your stats?

Erie.

I dont mind at all.
27 MCAT, 4.0 GPA (undergrad school is GPA inflated)
A lot of clinical work experience
Mediocre volunteering experience

Has anyone received any messages via phone about them checking apps? I was just wondering because, I haven't received any notification by phone.

Submitted secondary a week ago.... starting wonder.. anybody else in the same boat? My stats seem to be on par with everyone who is receiving an II...

Not sure. MrBen has me slightly concerned because, I submitted my secondary application three days ago as well and haven't received an interview invite yet either. I felt like I was a fairly strong candidate sGPA 3.68, cGPA 3.64, MCAT 30..

i would think the same, judging from your stats at least. I'm wondering if there is a method to their selections or not..

I don't know.. maybe there is something about my app that they are not interested in. Who knows, having strong stats guarantees nothing in the process.

very true. was hoping to at least get an II from this program.... still early though!

What are your EC's? How much volunteer work have you done? Did you do any grade replacement?

they may just sort by last name, or first namr lol
3.5/31 submitted three days ago but nothing.

I have around 400 hours of volunteering, 1800 hours Research Experience, Made an MCAT syllabus for incoming freshmen preparing them for the exam, Started a quizbowl at my University, 50 hours job shadowing experience, 95 hours volunteering at an Emergency room, Went to Tijuana Mexico and laid the foundation for a house to an impoverished family.. I feel like my EC's aren't what is holding me back. Plus I've volunteered at my church since 2009.

You guys will get a II. Don't worry. I believe they have a weird process in selecting candidates. I don't have that much volunteer healthcare experience. I only had 150 hours hospital volunteering and 100 hours shadowing.

this makes me think its interviews based upon how they sort or interviews based upon location of undergrad programs..

Quite possible. I went to a school which seems like a feeder school for LECOM. I got a II within a couple of hours of sending in my secondary.

yeah 3.6c/3.6s 28 >1000 hours scribing (about 800 coming during my senior year of college), teaching kids about nutrition and diet as a means to prevent disease, about 200 volunteer hours in a service frat + volunteering in New Orleans + leadership and research. Yeah i'm stressed but not too stressed haha.

Mr. Jones try taking your mind off it!
3 days is nothing, you will hear back soon. But stressing this much is not good for you.🙄

@Mr.Jones , You'll get an II. If you don't, then don't sweat it. Life can be frustrating. Have some patience and hopefully it all works out! We're a community, and we're here to support you.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The application cycle has essentially just started and I've applied to numerous school. I've worked hard to put myself in a position to go to medical school and I know everyone else on this forum has as well. It would just be disappointing to not receive an interview from a school I am genuinely interested in.

With your stats, you're definitely getting into a school.

Still no secondary yet , anyone else in similar situation ?

The next interview date isn't until the end of August. That might be why nobody is receiving interview invites after that early bird batch.

Hmm, that's odd...any idea why? Maybe the adcoms are on vacation in August?

@MrBen14 @mathnerd88 I pictured Erie itself being like a smaller version of my hometown, I was kind of surprised by the general layout of the place and how it feels larger and older than I thought. I can't really compare it to anywhere I have traveled before. It feels sort of "touristy" too, there are a lot of people here just driving around and eating at dive bars. There seems to be plenty to do, shop and eat here in the city.

LECOM itself is a lot smaller than I imagined. It is one single building kind of in the middle of a neighborhood. They have a wellness center and a senior center located more in the city. The buildings look pretty nice and modern. It looks like a lot of the students live directly around it which makes sense because of the snow.

Those are my initial thoughts. So far I have some pros and cons but I could see myself living here in order to go to school. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
