I could be wrong but I think someone posted earlier in the thread and said 2,600?Does anyone know how many applicants there were this cycle?

I read 2600 somewhere and someone on APVMA said their rejection said 2700. They were supposed to be taking 200 this year. It’s almost like making it more holistic made it more challenging because it drew more to apply.I could be wrong but I think someone posted earlier in the thread and said 2,600?

I agree making the change towards holistic does open it up to more applicants. Double edged sword I guess. My rejection said 2776 which made my odds next to 0 HAHA made me feel honestly slightly better about it idkI read 2600 somewhere and someone on APVMA said their rejection said 2700. I want to say again-do NOT give up. I was flat out rejected last year. The vets I work for both attended LSU. One took three tries to get in and the other was pulled from the waitlist the week before class began. Anything is possible. Don’t give up, and don’t let a no steal your worth. You have already accomplished much more than the average person. I’m rooting for everyone here to get that YES.

I got denied and the note on my portal said 2,776 applicants![]()
That’s crazy… I wonder how many seats they left for OOS vs IS and the Arkansas and Puerto Rico seats. 200 seems like a lot for class size. Do they have the facilities to support that many people?I read 2600 somewhere and someone on APVMA said their rejection said 2700. They were supposed to be taking 200 this year. You can Google an article from 2022 that rolled out the plan to increase the size. They hired more staff and updated some facilities. They bumped to 175 last year so the plan was to grow a bit more this year, so it sounds like they can support the need to accept more students. That’s crazy… I wonder how many seats they left for OOS vs IS and the Arkansas and Puerto Rico seats. 200 seems like a lot for class size. Dose anyone have a good recommendation for an online biochemistry class that satisfies LSU prerequisites? Thanks !
Thank you! LSU accept biochemistry from Kstate ? ThanksKstate has a nice biochem class. I assume Arizona state probably has a decent one (I took other courses at asu but not biochem)
I wouldn't because the portal says we don't have to unless we are offered admissionFor people who are on the waitlist with outstanding pre-reqs, I know it's not required but are you sending fall 2024 transcripts?
Yes I just noticed that! Maybe they're just updating the waitlist and it affects everyone?Does anybody else’s portal say it was updated at 9:15 pm today? I don’t see any different information on the portal though.
What are the chances of getting off the Alternate list/waitlist as an OOS student?
I've also seen it updated three or so timesI’m on the alternate list and keep seeing portal updates? Anyone else?
(OOS Alternative) I just checked and now it says Updated December 27th, does this mean people have moved on the alt list?I've also seen it updated three or so times
I would assume so (but could be wrong haha)(OOS Alternative) I just checked and now it says Updated December 27th, does this mean people have moved on the alt list?
Does anyone have any info on how many oos students are accepted/number of available seats/waitlist size?
I would imagine so?So when the portal gets updated, is that an indication that someone has moved off the waitlist?
I'm going to assume at this point that they don't notify people that they've been pulled off until after April 15th, since I think we would've seen someone posting that they got pulled off by now 🤔I’m wondering it the portal may also update whenever an accepted student commits? Like if there’s a difference in status between offered a seat vs. they accepted the seat.
I hope it is someone being pulled off the waitlist! I’ve also heard they do not pull any waitlist students until after the April deadline, but no hard confirmation on that
They will probably start to notify once people start declining their seats! Which I agree will more than likely be after national decision dayI'm going to assume at this point that they don't notify people that they've been pulled off until after April, since I think we would've seen someone posting that they got pulled off by now 🤔
From what I've heard, the OOS waitlist moves a decent amount each year! Two years ago (if I remember correctly), they went through the whole waitlist and started contacting people who were initially rejected to offer a seat.Does anyone know the chances of being pulled off the waitlist? I saw some posts saying it’s likely, but the thread from last year looks like it moved very slow and not everyone got off. Also struggling to find information in previous threads but I might be looking in the wrong place. Trying to keep hope 🥲
Not that I’ve heard, rumor has it not until after April 15thJust curious, have any OOS Alternates been taken off the waitlist?
Nope, hoping before decision day thoJust curious, have any OOS Alternates been taken off the waitlist?
Same! I got waitlisted at CSU and then have an interview at MSU, so I could very well end up in Louisiana!I was wondering if anyone would chat on here about some of the pros and cons of LSU? Would love to hear about people’s experiences who currently attend
I don’t think so. It explicitly said in my offer letter that as an OOS student, I’ll be paying OOS tuition for all 4 years regardless of residency statusCongrats everyone that got in to LSU!! Very excited to meet everyone 😃 I am an Arkansas resident, but did not get a contract seat unfortunately. Do you guys know if you can apply to be a Louisiana resident after the first year and get in-state tuition that way? Thanks so much!! -Pam
