1st year at mwu here! If u have any questions about the school or interview process you can hmu! For me, it took about 5weeks to 6weeks to hear back! I love the school and faculty too 🙂

Do you have any classmates that got accepted without interview?

no, interview is required as far as i know
I think starting this year they accepted some without interview (which I have thoughts about their lack of communication regarding but that's on the school rather than the people who were admitted, congratulations to them!)

I am a first year at Midwestern and I just wanna say congratulations to everyone who got accepted into Midwestern! As well as if you didn’t get accepted or put on the waitlist , that’s okay it’s a part of the cycle. I know the feeling of receiving my first rejection letter! You guys are enough and incredibly hardworking, you applying is such an accomplishment already! If you guys have any questions please don’t hesitate to hit me up !

Asking for my brother who got accepted, does incoming students get a laptop from school? We would prefer to wait and avoid the hassle of selling one
I’m sorry to tell you but we don’t get MacBook pros haha … unless I’m missing something. i haven’t read that thread but I’m also unaware if they do give us laptops if our happen to break. I recommend an iPad!!

Has anyone on the alternate list uploaded a resume? And if so did they review it? I’m thinking of sending one in, just curious about the process. TIA 🙂

My interview is Thursday this week online. I was wondering for those that interviewed online, how long was the actual interview since it states it’s all day long. Also how many questions total was asked. Quite nervous and just scared of screwing up my only chance

It should be around 30-45' for the interview, the rest is just introduce the school.
The number of questions is various since you will have few big questions, then multiple small one to talk about that

I got that . . . sooo does this mean I should expect a rejection letter soon or is this all the communication we’re gonna get 😂😭

I got that even though I got waitlisted for admission last week, I think they sent it to everyone who applied.

I have my interview tomorrow at 8 am Arizona time but 10 am mine. I logged into the zoom to just double check everything was good. And it says it starts at 9:30 am my time. Why 30 min early? Should i get on the zoom at that time then compared to 10am (8 am the scheduled time) ??? Please I am hoping and praying for the best🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Get on early just to be safe - I went in person and they had us get there about 30 minutes beforehand as well. We didn't end up starting until after the designated start time anyway, so I would say 15 minutes before is probably fine, but I'd do 30 to make a good impression.

Today is the last interview date, does anyone know when those that interviewed today should hear back ?

I haven't heard anything from them. My portal still says awaiting decision and they did not provide me any helpful information when I emailed them. Is this a soft rejection, especially if it's the last day for interviews?

My portal still says waitlisted for interview. I wish they would just let us know when we’re not being considered anymore, but it seems like a lot of schools are slow to send rejections this cycle, for some reason.

They told us at the information session after our zoom interviews today, that admission will be meeting next week and the following week so unsure if that means decisions should be released in the next two weeks??

For people who have/are traveling to the school for an interview or admitted student day do you recommend any hotels or places to stay near campus? I’m going for a tour next month

There's a hotel near school and they offered some deals i believe

I just called admissions—they told me that they don’t currently have any interviews scheduled, but that the admissions committee may still decide to interview more applicants and that they may pull off the interview waitlist through the end of February.

I interviewed back in December and stayed at a nice little air bnb about 20 min from campus, closer to center phoenix. it was cheaper than the nearby hotel offered even at discounts and if you're staying with multiple people you can split the cost. def look into air bnb options!

Hi! Where do you live? How do you find Glendale? I liked the school when I visited but the area seemed rather… dull? I’m from NYC so that could be part of that opinion 🤣

I may not be the best person to answer this question since I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona. I love Arizona but in all honesty I haven’t explored the Glendale area outside of the campus too much since I don’t have the time due to my busy schedule haha. My boyfriend is from New York so I will say when I visited with my family the New York life wasn’t for me , haha I hated the walking 😅. There are other great areas in Arizona like Tempe , Scottsdale if you want a night life. I also drive an hour commute to school cause I didn’t want to pay rent so again not the best person to ask since I only stay on campus for the most part.

Aww the best part about NYC is the walking 😆 also coming from someone who walked dogs for 10+ years. You get to see a lot that way!

For those that interviewed 1/28 and then in February. Has anyone heard back yet or know when they may release that info?

Also, when you were notified did you get an email or only a portal update?

This was back in December, but my portal updated first with the prerequisite chart. A little after that, I noticed Midwestern's portal message changed to "Status: Decided". However, there was no actual decision posted, so it was very confusing for a bit. Eventually I was notified via email and the portal was updated with a decision that same day. Hope that helps!

When I interviewed on 1/28, they said the earliest we would find out would be at the end of this month.

For those that are planning to attend, has anybody completed the VMCAS Background Check Consent Request?
