Midwestern University c/o 2025

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I haven't heard anything from the people on the alternate list yet but I hope you find out soon.

Also, I have a couple more questions about the upcoming school year. I know they aren't the most professional to ask about but is there any way we can ask for days off of school or at least be allowed to miss 2 or so days of class when needed? I don't necessarily mean all the time but in the case of a family event. That being said, do we have to attend all events in person, such as the white coat ceremony (it is one of the days we are trying to plan around because of my brother's graduation from Marine boot camp but I don't know if we will be able to go or not so I wanted to see if it was required). Do you guys know anything about it?

white coat ceremony isn’t required to attend. Just make sure to let the proper people know you won’t be there. Missing class isn’t a huge thing either, just ensure it’s not an in-person lab or exam day because those will definitely be required. Also just know that if you miss a class, there isn’t a guarantee the lecture is recorded... some classes don’t record and even if they do there can be errors that happen when recording/uploading.

Thank you!! That's super helpful to know! Finger's crossed that I won't have a lab/exam that Friday then 🙂

We are getting closer to starting the semester but I wanted to confirm something with the schedule; on the Fall 2020 block schedule, it shows that the practice of vet med lab is scheduled for 4 days of the week and the anatomy lab for 2 days. Do the labs typically occur that often or are we put in a specific block where "this group goes for these days and this group goes for those days." I am just trying to get a better view of my schedule as always lol

By the way in case anyone isn't up to date on the classes, they will be back to in-person and using the traditional method of teaching once again.

you’ll likely be in separate groups for the lab schedules. They’ll release that once we are closer!
You’ll be back in person, we also at planning to have an in person orientation.

Thank you! So excited for orientation!

Hi! I just got an email from Midwestern saying I was put on the interview waitlist, does this mean a soon to be rejection or is there still a chance that they interview me? This is my first time applying and I'm OOS.

There’s still a chance to be interviewed! A few of my classmates were interview waitlisted. We are now in clinics!
