I applied since it's in my state and I interviewed on Oct 17. Odd since they didn't have new MCAT scores yet. They told us then that they would send out the first acceptances in the first week of December. I have not heard from them yet (which could be bad!), but I should find out soon. I think he told us that acceptances are Fedexed. Goodluck! Gotta love those free computers!

I interviewed at morehouse and called the school about when the responses will be sent out and they are behind should be sent sometime soon.

Hey, I got waitlisted from Morehouse today. Tell me how you did, I figure that you should have gotten yours today also.
 
Hey man no news from Morehouse I dont know what is going to happen. They told me acceptances had not gone out this week.
Hey man I was wondering did you find out by mail or by phone. When I called they told me that acceptances have not been mailed becase they were running behind.

I got my acceptance today, it came in Priority Mail and was mailed out yesterday (12/4/03).

I got waitlisted. Got the news today. Is there even a chance for an acceptance when you are waitlisted?

At my interview they said about 5 or 6 come off the waitlist. Keep in mind the class size is only 50. I don't know how big the waitlist is. My guess is 30 or 40, but just a guess.

I think there's a fairly good chance....at least that's what they led us to believe during our interview. They accept many more than the 50 the class holds. FWIW, my top 2 choices are Dartmouth and Rochester, so if I get accepted into those I'll likely be giving up my Morehouse spot....freeing up a spot for those waitlisted. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if you write them a letter after a month or two telling them that they're your first choice (if that's true).

I interviewed this past Friday. They informed us that they will interview about 260 students, accept 115, and enroll around 50 +/- a few. So, chances are good that you'll be off the waitlist. I hope that helps.

Also, for future interviewers, my group was right in the middle in regards to admission's process. We were around the 120 out of 260 students that they interviewed.
 
My mistake! The 5 or 6 I was talking about are accepted during June/July right before school starts. Sorry for the brain fart.

Sup everyone-

Just out of curiosity, has anyone called/emailed MSM about their application status AFTER an interview? I realize that the ADCOM meets the monday after you interview, and they state that they will notify us within a month or so. But, not that I plan on doing this, has anyone just said, "eh, I'm just going to see if they'll tell me if i'm accepted or not."

Just curious. 😀

Although I didn't call them, I got the alternate list letter today. Oh well. Almost exactly one month from when I interviewed.

Does anyone know how their waitlist works? Do they wait till the end of the interview season? Any insight? (I know that they do not rank and that the chances of getting off the waitlist are good, but I 'm just curious to see if anyone else heard anything).
 
No, just that you should keep them updated if you garner anymore accomplishments or whatever.

I interviewerd the first week of janurary? Anyone hear back from em' yet!
 
I think they let spring interviews know sometime in March.

I am starting to hate this school, I've been on interview hold for about three weeks now.

At the interview a few wks ago (late January), the head of admissions explained to us that there were four batches of notifications that go out. Our group would be in the third batch, which should be going out sometime next week (mid-February was the figure we were given). So I'm thinking that the January folks who haven't heard should be expecting to hear something by some time next week.

Also, the waitlist should experience mass movement sometime right before May 15th (just as other schools).

EDIT: Decisions went out this week... they've dropped the waitlist/rejection axe heavy...

Well I live in montana, so by the time I get the letter the snow sill have melted. I should probably get something today or tommorow. Was it an email or a fedex?
What is nagging me more is what the hell does that BUMP crap mean. I have seen it on other posts. "Bump"? Huh

My bad for the confusion in wording. Basically I meant that they were sending out those rejection and waitlist letters in mass quantities. Not to say that they're dropping the axe on the waitlist folks... I got a waitlist letter, and a few others I know have gotten rejections on the same or in subsequent days.

CONGRATS!!!! It's all good!!!! Is MSM your first choice?

BUMP means Bring Up My Post. Use it when no one has answered your question and it seems to be getting buried, or when you want to keep a good thread alive. I think that limit is one BUMP a day (don't quote me on that)...

Also, did I post somewhere accidentally that I got in somewhere??? Morehouse was actually my first decision, although I've got other interviews lined up in the next month.
