Are you looking more at apartment complex/gated communities or houses?Thank you! Luckily my friend plans on moving with me so I have a roommate lined up. Might even think of getting a third. What tends to be the most affordable yet safe neighborhood?
I quite like the north druid hills/toco hills area. There's a big jewish community there so there's always people walking around. I think it's very safe. There are lots of apartments and gated communities around here which I think is a plus cause ours has a tennis court, workout room, pool which is nice for when you don't want to work out at emory. It also close enough that if you don't want to drive, could potentially bike.
I know a lot of grad students also like to live in north Decatur area. Not sure about the apartments, but friends have rented split houses there and they all have back yards and parking spaces that are away from major roads and are very residential so great for running outside and what not. Plus lots of bars in the area.
Both of these places are like 15 min away from each other, so meeting up with people and going to bars is very easy.
Also! If anyone is looking to adopt a cat in the emory area/ when you move to Atlanta, I have a great recommendation 🙂
