For me it comes down to JHU MSPH in Policy VS Columbia's MPH in Policy... Someone please validate my train of thought as I lean towards Columbia.
Program: MPH over MSPH. I feel like an MPH may be more useful on my resume when applying to consulting jobs. I also like the health policy analysis certificate Columbia offers, and the consulting case project.
Price: I have yet to receive merit from Columbia, but even if I were to be offered nothing it seems to still be within ~$5000 of JHU with the MTS. I also have above a 3.75 gpa so I can and will appeal come April 15. (Thankfully $ is not the biggest issue for me so im grateful that doesn't completely impact my final decision.)
Place: I was fine with either Baltimore or NYC. I have ties to both, and am nervous but excited to live in NY NY!
I guess at this point the only thing holding me back are:
1. Its freaking JHU, ranked #1 for MPH...(but does that count for msph?)
2. It seems like I would have a smaller cohort at JHU, and maybe a more personalized experience.
3. Love the idea of only one year of school, and one year of working, hopefully leading into a full time job. Seems like a great jumpstart to my career.
Any feedback or idea? Also anyone know if Columbia and Hopkins plan to be in person come fall?
