It was a joke. I live to close for an in the area to work.
 
I was not going to apply this year and further develop my app, but a friend of mine told me I should with my stats. 3.96c, 3.96s, 27 MCAT. Should I wait until next year? Or should I go ahead and apply?

If you haven't submitted your primary app, then you may as well wait until next cycle for the best chances. You won't be verified until late October, and then secondaries and such.

Going to have to say the opposite of above. It's still very early this cycle, you're GPA is very strong, get your primary in ASAP

I think you should apply this year. Plenty of time with the DO app IMO. As an MD you are late with those stats. But as DO, I think your alright.

As soon as a date is booked it no longer shows up. Not sure. When I logged in to the portal I only actually saw Tuesday dates.

I'm in the same boat! in state, my stats should have gotten me an interview here too
 
Can anyone specify on the details of how the interview is conducted? (Is it 1 interview with a panel of 1-3 faculty, and for how long) Also, did anyone confirm whether classes are mandatory or not at NSU now?

The interview is a panel; usually two faculty with at least one of them being a DO or an MD. It lasts for approximately 10-15 minutes.

As far as attendance, my class was really disappointed with the mandatory attendance decision and we voiced our concerns. The school ended up taking it back but only for my class. With the M1s, the professors were given the option of having mandatory attendance for the classes they teach. Of course, most faculty want students to show up to class, so those professors reinstated the 70% mandatory attendance policy for those subjects. I think biochem and histology are the ones that aren't mandatory. There might be more. I have no idea if this is supposed to carry on to next year's class. You can ask admin at the interview if it does, but considering that the current M1s were told that attendance was not mandatory at their interview and now it kind of is, who knows what will happen by the time you guys matriculate lol
 
Hi, so if you book a hotel that is under the school's discount, how do we prove that you qualify for the discount? Will Nova give us an I.D. card?
 
Still no news over here. 3.7 cGPA, 3.55 sGPA, 27 (11/6/10), 32 retake (12/8/12), OOS, submitted about 2 months ago but my science prof letter finally got in a couple weeks ago FWIW
 
No news here either, 3.1uGPA, 3.8 SMP GPA, 38 OOS. Submitted mid june but one of my letters didn't get in until August. Really hope I hear something soon...

I've never had a hotel request to see ID for a special rate.

I was verified on the 10th. How long should I wait to get a secondary?

Does this count for people who are interviewing? I thought this was for only current students.

Lots of local places give small discounts to students though.
 
I was ready on August 7. Has anyone received an ii who got the complete call after that date?

The mandatory attendance policies are OPP lecture, FACR, Humanism, and all the labs (obvs). Histology kind of is, kind of isn't. She'll start keeping track if attendance gets low.

Hello all - 3.23s/3.22 overall and 27 MCAT - so not great, but was from a really hard school, honest 🙂!). I have not received an II - do you think I still have a chance here?

I have a feeling you're one of the first to interview haha. It seems that they sent out interview invites later than most schools so I imagine their first interview dates are probably no earlier than next week? But hopefully someone will provide some sort of feedback before yours!

Not sure if this has been answered before (sorry if it has), but were we supposed to receive an email if we are complete? The last correspondence I received from NSU was that they received my LORs and that was about 2 weeks ago (give or take)

you will actually get a phone call from admission telling you that your file is complete!

Your WebStar shows all letters as being received for sure? Could be a problem with one of them. I was complete 7/17, same day I got the secondary an I was called that next week. Call them for sure, open 24/7
 
just paid for my secondary. As far as letters go, I just send that directly from interfolio right?
 
Has anyone since 8/7 gotten an under review phone call and received an ii? I got that call on 8/7, and I still have yet to hear anything, which is very concerning.
 
I got the call in June and didn't get an II until mid August...I wouldn't worry about it just yet. They didn't start sending out IIs as early as other schools so they may be a bit behind schedule.
 
I've been done since July and am still "under review." Sit back it could be awhile.
 
how long did you guys have to wait to become complete after sending in your letters?

I was complete before my letters came in. You don't need letters to get an ii.
