Nova Southeastern Univ (NSU-COM) Discussion Thread 2015 - 2016

This school is bizarre. They keep calling me to let me know weird minor things about my application. I've gotten two calls from them that my application is complete. And they told me to send transcripts and I've gotten calls about them receiving those. Very odd.

This school....

Received complete call a month ago. Got a voicemail saying they were missing my transcripts and some of my letters weren't signed. I called back and was assured that all my letters are signed and my transcripts have been received. What?

Yea, I just decided to send the official mcat scores by priority mail. I also just went ahead and sent my transcripts even though they didn't say that was needed. I'd rather get that over with then receive a call a month from now saying they need my transcripts to review my application.

What's annoying is on the website it clearly states they can use the transcripts ACCOMAS received until acceptance. Only after acceptance are you suppose to be responsible for getting your university to send transcripts to Nova..

It's best to be prepared! I was never asked for transcripts but alot of people on here (and from las year's thread) seem to be having this problem with trancripts :/
 
Does anyone know if NSU provides you with notebooks or something to write on...is it alright if I bring my own?
 
Headed for an interview there in October. Does anyone know if Uber works in Fort Lauderdale?

Wait, we need to send our transcripts to NSU? I just sent my to AACOMAS. What other schools require us to send transcripts directly to them? This is news to me.

Nobody knows. It's a mystery. Some people have been asked to send them. Some people have not. There seems to be a large weird and confusing administrative process at this school with poor communication.
 
I will be headed out to NOVA to interview on Oct. 1....anyone joining me?

Bring your own if you like but they don't give you any sort of official notepad or notebook to write on. I think you get a pen though just in case you forget one.

Also, Uber doesn't run in Fort Lauderdale.

to those who recently received an II, when were you all complete?
 
II! First one of the cycle. So happy after all that LOR drama. Anyone else going down the 1st of Oct? Also for those who have interviewed---what is the schedule for the day look like? Trying to figure out if I can fly in that AM or not.
 
I never recieved a complete phone call or email from this school. On my portal is shows my application being porcessed and all materials in, so I dont know what to thing! I already have 2 other interviews from NYIT and Lecom Seton hall, and i really like this school, so im kinda bummed!

I emailed admissions and they said from about 8:15 - 3pm but different days may have different schedules
 
I have been complete (if the phone call was correct) for several weeks now, but in the last two weeks I have gotten 2 more invitations to complete the secondary! When I login it shows that all transcripts, LOR, and MCAT scores are received. Should I call and figure out why I keep getting asked to submit again?
 
Wait....so how the hell am I supposed to send official MCAT scores to them? They aren't on the list at MCAT Thx. Like do I just print it out and put it in an envelope?

Edit: Yup, that's exactly what they want. It's 2015....why am I doing this?

I'm getting multiple emails about a reminder of my application receipt... The email seems to be emphasizing that a secondary fee is due and has not been paid. Was the payment part of the secondary? I thought we had to pay to submit but my memory is Foggy...

Did anyone not get a call? I don't think I did, but my application is complete online.

I'm not sure. I'll probably just give a quick call tomorrow to ensure that my file is complete. I doubt its much of a hassle.

I wasn't officially complete until 9/1 but they had everything since 7/20. They couldn't locate me LOR so I resent directly through Interfolio on 9/1 and my II came yesterday. 26 mcat and 3.6 sGPA 3.75 cGPA. NSU showing this underdog some love.

Did you just have them sent through your AACOMAS app? That's what I had too and they weren't listed. I sent them directly through Interfolio and they marked them as received on my portal three days later---so you might want to just go the direct route.

I submitted my secondary on like August 12th, and it says everything is recieved on the portal, so i am so confused why I have heard nothing from the school (no complete email or call). I also have a 26 MCAT, a 3.72 sci gpa, and 3.82 cumalitive.. so i am like worried that it might be a rejection. I already have 2 interviews but I love the location of this school!
 
Verified early-mid July. Haven't heard anything since. Did call and ask if they have all the materials, and they said they did. How have I not heard back yet?

I sent mine through AACOMAS by 07/15 and it wasn't until end of August that my portal showed letters received

Received the "application complete call" or no?
 
I did in July. Portal says it is but haven't heard anything else.
 
Everyone who has received an II...did you send your MCAT scores to the school yourself? Or did you merely submit to AACOMAS? Also, when everything was officially "complete" how was that reflected on the portal?

I got the call early July saying that I had everything in and was ready for review. Then after making phone calls to the office I find out they hadn't received my physician LOR (~nearly 2 months later).

I call the office but I get conflicting information.
