Sup,
I was accepted to both NP and HST at Harvard and I'm definitely going there (withdrew from everywhere else). Please help me decide which to choose. I just applied to both to have 2 chances but wasn't partial to either. Would love to hear more from current students before revisit weekend. Thx.

I'm interested in surgery. Maybe orthopedics or neuro. Research is cool, but 4 years is probably ideal for med school rather than HST which most people spend 5 or 8 years in.

the two programs are completely different, so it really shouldn't be too hard for you to decide.

do you want to be a physician-scientist? do HST
do you want to be primarily a clinician, and/or do health policy work, or international health? do NP

the fact that you can't decide between two very different programs makes me question whether you gave enough consideration to the other schools where you were accepted, since one of them may very well have been a better fit for you.

+1 definitely agree

I don't think it should be that hard to decide lol that's like asking if you should be a doctor or be a lawyer.

Both of those programs are clearly directed toward specific goals of a medical student so choosing which one to pursue is entirely based off of what career path you want to take and none of us on here know what that is.

lol @ "You're going to Harvard? You're making a huge mistake!"

thx for input everyone, rly appreciate it. i thought about my career goals and decided on NP, though the poll is favoring HST. i think i might do a little research but not as much as the people in HST envision (i picture like 10% of my career being like clinical research, no intense basic science for me anymore). this was helpful for me 👍
