***Official ASDOH c/o 2020 Acceptence/Interviews!***

True Boyd27!! You have always been active here and been passionate about ASDOH. Hope to have you in class next year !!
I would love to go there! Haha I wish they would let us know the wait list order. But I'm just going to keep volunteering and serving. Improving my application!

Did u get waitlist through email?

Did anyone who interviewed yesterday, 12/8 get the "still under consideration" email yet?

Interviewed yesterday, got the email today saying that I'm still being considered! Thanks for all the great advice! Azra said they probably won't give out many more acceptances until January as that's when they will hear back from already accepted students. Does that sound right to people?
Yes - the dust has to settle for those that were offered a seat Dec 1, then Admissions determines how many more invitations to offer. On average, half of the 76ish seats are filled from the Dec invites, then they move forward.

How does the waitlist work? Do they prioritize the list based of the day you were interviewed? Any idea when in January do the people with offers have to decide by?
It's a little cloak-and-dagger, but essentially admissions has generalized ranks for the wait list, regardless of date interviewed. They continue to meet and review files, until the next round of invitations is ready. In years past, they've been really good about sending "no longer being considered this year" or "still being considered" emails to interviewees - the key here is they know what you're going through, and don't want folks that are no longer being considered to sit in limbo with their hopes up, to allow them to regroup and get ready for the next cycle.

Basically... if you've interviewed and haven't gotten a rejection email or letter, you're still being considered. There's absolutely no way to know 'where' you might fall on the wait list, but you're at least on the radar.

Are there any ASDOH students that got accepted from wait list in here? I'd like to ask them a few questions if possible.
I was a wait lister, got the call just after Spring Break. I lost my mind between Dec 1 and that day.haha I applied 3 years before getting in. Keep your head up!

Boyd - ask away. I'd assume that a few folks that may be in your situation may want to read along.

Thanks man! Yea my mind is going nuts! Haha did you do anything between Dec. 1st and when you got the call to improve your app? When did you interview?

I have heard of 2.8 and 18 DAT getting into AT still.. They do not really care about grades. They care more about your heart and maturity. My friend had a 23, 3.9 GPA, but was denied right away; but he got into like three big schools.

Be yourself and have fun with it. Don't be uptight.
Be prepare to talk about yourself a lot and who you are. Define and bring out your personality in that interview.

Do you know what papers are due on January 4th besides the deposit?

Ya go in confident in yourself. Show them who you are and be able to really explain why you want to be a dentist. Be able to explain your volunteer hours and show you have a heart for serving the community. (If you don't, this might not be the best fit dental school wise )

Anyone know what the tech requirements are for c/o 2020? Fingers cross they're mac friendly!

Has anyone received rejection letter after interview yet?

Do you guys know if ASDOH sent out rejection letters for candidates interview pre dec yet? When is the next wave of acceptance?

I am not sure. I was thinking about joining the Army but I dont think I can be in the Army for 4 years... its too long. How do I apply for NHSC scholarship and do they pay for all tuition or some?

I actually consider the army scholarship myself but found the underlying issue of being drafted to war zone countries and opted out. Also, if you read in about it a lot of students who are currently serving have said that you lose a lot of practice to the things you learned in dental school because you're working predominately with the cases that are the same on a daily basis.

NHSC covers all tuition and 1200 per month in living expenses 🙂

I'm not sure about rejections but I think that the next wave of acceptance is in the beginning of January, after the deposit deadline for Dec 1 acceptance group.

Congrats see you in July

Sent Azra the email, paid the admission fee, and mailing the form tomorrow! See y'all in the summer 😀

Do you guys know where to send your official transcript to? I need an address since a couple of my schools don't do electronics. I know ASDOH has two address... One in Kirksville in Misourri, where our agreement form was sent.... I need clarification and need validation as to where we should send our official transcript.

Do you know how ASDOH or any dental school check the number of volunteer hours that you have ? Do they call places that you volunteered for or what? Just curious.
