UOP INTERVIEW INVITE
Aug 17th
(Was just about to lose all hope 🙏🏽🥲)

Any current residents or people that have interviewed there before on SDN here I could connect with??
Congrats!! Did you receive the invite via email or phone?

Anyone who did UCLA's Zoom interview message me? I'd love to learn about the process of the interview.

Has anyone heard of schools conducting group interviews?? What would they ask in a situation like that?

Anyone who accepted Temple interview, did you hear back with more detail after you accepted or did they confirm that they received your email?

Haha just a combo of friends interviewing, current residents, and people messaging me here. I try to post if I have information because I know this page was invaluable for me when I was applying to dental school and Endo residency!
That's awesome and super helpful, thank you

Congratulations! What did you do to improve your application?
Thank you! A lot of CE both online and in person, asked directors from last year what I could do to improve my app, went to the AAE and had some face time with the schools. Made changes to my personal statement that were recommended by faculty and PDs of schools.

Was just about to post about Detroit Mercy but was beaten to it! I declined as I accepted an offer last week. Good luck everyone!

Got my first acceptance after 2 years applying! I was about to give up to be honest. Highly valuable resource is dr. darwin who does zoom mock interviews and coaches you. Cost is a little steep but very worth it. You can look him up on YouTube as well

Does he get you interviews? Cos that's the tough part. 😉

Did they give you the "your application was excellent but we had a lot of extraordinary applicants" or were they specific with their feedback? Very, very few program directors give sincere feedback.
I think the personal statement changes might've been the game-changer for you! Congrats!! 🙂

Yeah got an interview to Detroit. Does anyone know any info about that program? Are they research heavy, or more clinical ?

Interested in this too! Anyone interview last year with them?

Thanks! A lot of PDs and faculty had very valuable, sincere, specific and well thought out info for making my app better, I just had to be open to constructive criticism and truly willing to listen. I'd say my PS being changed was important but not the game change. My CE and going to the AAE were much more important.

Incredible! In my experience (and the experience of several others), the response from PDs had been very generic. Congrats again! Enjoy your last year as a general dentist!! 😀

Congrats! Each cycle definitely takes a huge toll on your mental, physical, and finances 😵. Do you mind PMing me where you got in?

Did the interview schedule itself change from the 14th to the 21st? Or is this the 2nd round for CODA seats?
I think the 14th was mainly CODA and 21st is mainly NON CODA. Possibly some CODA people interviewing on the 21st if there were scheduling issues. This is just an assumption though

Any group members who are current residents in the Pacific or got interviews for the Pacific last year? Would like to know about the experience of interview day. Thanks

I am kind of at a loss right now. I had a 3.75 gpa, top 20%, non-dental related publications, volunteering, and 1 year of experience and I received zero interviews and I applied to a looooot of schools. I have got zero interviews which is shocking to me. I didn't necessarily expect to get in but I thought I would get at least a couple interviews. Do you all think this is just an experience issue or something more.... Just kinda coping right now lol..
I think you need to understand the politics/ bullsh88ness behind endo application process though. Programs usually have to 120-180 applications and they usually invite about 15-20% to their interviews. Schools have extremely high favoritisms toward their own pre-doc students/ GPR/ AEGD residents so the place that you have the highest chance at is your own dental school/ the place that you did GPR. Quite a few civilian endo programs have ex-military endo directors - those guys also have heavy favoritism toward military candidates too..

I got 25 years experience, AEGD, research, privileges' at 3 different hospitals, been a professional hockey team dentist and no interviews. Maybe its my age, maybe there worried about me not fitting in, but don't give up, I'm not.

Sorry to ask again and again but I feel no one applied to buffalo here!! anyone hear from Buffalo ??

I just request to be interviewed on the 21st and the coordinator said it is possible so I took it

I applied to UB, still haven't heard. I heard from endo alumni that they typically only take foreign trained dentists
