There are very few programs that are in the realm of "not good". If they provided inadequate training, CODA would delist them. Of course each program has it's own strengths and weaknesses. You just have to make sure those align with what you're looking for.Has anyone heard if the nyu langone or Oregon OHSU are good programs clinical experience wise?
Who sent out rejections this early?Gotta appreciate the courtesy of a rejection letter. It’s the little things!![]()
UT San AntonioWho sent out rejections this early?
I know it’s still early in the cycle but man has my confidence been shaken! It’s my first cycle and I applied quite broadly thinking I’d probably land somewhere. Now I’m already contemplating what another cycle would look like…Gotta appreciate the courtesy of a rejection letter. It’s the little things!![]()
I felt the same way last year, trust me. But you’ve got to remember. it’s not you. The whole thing is trash. Hang in there.I know it’s still early in the cycle but man has my confidence been shaken! Not a rising D4 but just fresh out of dental school. Graduated last week.Any rising D4 applying this cycle?
I feel the same exact way. I have been practicing general dentistry for 5 years. Applied very broadly and so far nothing. Thinking about what to do for next years application.I know it’s still early in the cycle but man has my confidence been shaken! It’s a humbling process. I had the same thought process as you and was like wtf. Was accepted on my 3rd cycle. 😐. It is early though and you just never know. Everyone is so qualified I don’t know how these directors can even narrow anything down. Throw a dart on the boardI know it’s still early in the cycle but man has my confidence been shaken! 35How many schools did you apply?
Not much different than last time I applied. I actually applied 3 years ago and again this year. No interviews last time and so far still nothing. Very demoralizing but its all good. Lets be hopeful. This week's done, but on to the next!Did you learn anything major about applying from this year compared to last year?
Besides the posted interviews, I haven’t heard anything. I wonder if Einstein sent out interviews because their interview is in June. Most programs send out by last week of June, so I’m sure we’ll see the big wave these upcoming 2 weeks.
Agree on being hopeful! Yes, this process is very hit or miss. No one quite knows the algorithm unless you’re in the minds of admissions. Again, there’s still the 80% of programs whom haven’t sent invites, yet.Not much different than last time I applied. I actually applied 3 years ago and again this year. Looking through last year's thread, who is "conebeam guy?"
Question, when sending transcripts from dental school and undergrad is it best to send them directly from a place like "parchment" to PASS or order them to your home and then send them yourself. What is the turn around time of these companies and how early before the application opens can you send them? Do you have to wait till the app opens to send them?
Before the application window I sent transcripts to myself, opened them, and scanned them into my computer as “unofficial”. I send official ones through parchment service, it’s a lot faster.Question, when sending transcripts from dental school and undergrad is it best to send them directly from a place like "parchment" to PASS or order them to your home and then send them yourself. Marquette, you apply entirely separately through their school websiteAre there any schools that are not on PASS?
Thank you for your responses!
If anyone has applied to Columbia how strict are they about actually getting letters of recommendation from previous faculty members? It says their requirements are 1 deans letter and 3 faculty members instead of just letters from endodontics and other professional colleagues.
If faculty letters are required that's a no go for me! I only have 1 for sure, its been four years!
