*****Official PASS 2025 Endodontic Residency Interviews/Information***

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
When do programs typically send their rejection/decline letters?
Not that I like to receive them, but I haven't received any, and I am not sure if programs care to "consider you" after they pick their class!

Hey does anyone know what day of AAE would be the most “important” to go to for residency/networking purposes?
TIA

It is usually the third day at night. But they will post the schedule with those events too. So check the AAE MEETING website.

I would recommend attending the Alumni receptions in the evening. They happen on the Thursday of the meeting week. Like @AAdentist said, its usually the third day of the meeting if you assume registration opening as day 1 (which is usually a Tuesday). Some schools have their alumni receptions off-site and by invitation only. It's safe to assume you'll miss those unless if you can join as a plus-one for a current resident/alumni.

Does the ADEA PASS 2024-2025 cycle mean that programs start the summer of 2025 (i.e. you apply May of 2024 for a ~July '25 program start date)?

Yes. Even though it's mostly done for Endo, the application cycle for some other specialties is still ongoing.

I want to know too.. I can’t email them anymore, I already did couple times.

Hi there, Anyone here going to AAE this year ? Or someone knows a group/community related to AAE ?
TIA...

I believe it's worth it to apply broadly, but make sure you are willing to attend any of those programs
2023 cycle I applied to 20 schools and got 2 interviews (my grades are below average)
2024 cycle I applied to 45 schools and got 3 interviews (different schools than 1st time) and got 1 acceptance
You never know what the director is looking for in that particular year
It's expensive in application fee, but even more so to miss a year of endo income, imho. And any interview is valuable practice

anyone knows what is going on with case western university? how come no invites yet (as far as I know), is it too late in the cycle or that is just the norm for them??

Will be attending
I did not see many benefits from attending the AAE if you are attending it just to connect and show interest by attending the social events, Just my opinion. I was there couple times and even presented posters twice. I enjoyed the lectures for sure. and did get many CEs credits too.
but just for the purpose of making connection, I do not think it is worth it! by just attending one time social event or cool conversation with the program director that will not remember. what do you think guys ?!.

Couldn’t agree more. Totally worth it it go and get CE and all things Endo. For the purpose of only meeting PDs, not worth it. Unless you know someone who knows directors personally and will introduce you. Otherwise, standing in line to meet directors and have an awkward non memorable 5 minute convo can be quite expensive.

I agree with both! I was, however, asked in EVERY single interview that I got whether I attended the AAE and what was my favorite part/topic/lecture.

One weakness I had last year was my timing in getting the application in. Any recommendations in how to get the application in super quick?

You can edit/update your application from last year right now and then when the new cycle opens, you can choose the option to copy it all over. I also know some who take the day off work the day it opens and just work on it to get it all done

Do you have any suggestion if we should submit the application after filling right away ?
Or is it better to wait for the LOR to be completed and then submit everything together at once ?

How important is the recommendation letter from an Endodontist ?
Just thinking …it is either from your referral endodontist, he/she barely knows your skills or endo faculty when you had done one or two RCTs.
is it important? Mandatory??

Get it in as soon as possible and the make sure LOR's come in soon after

some programs require LORs from an endo so best to secure one.

Are we able to start filling out the application prior to the May date, what is it, May 8th? Or are we stuck with filling out everything starting the 8th? For whatever reason when I tried copying everything from the previous cycle it was a disaster and it wasted several days.

Any Army Reserve members got into Endo Residency ? If yes, would love to connect and get some guidance
Thanks

They keep changing things every year. But if you start fresh, you need to order your transcript and that takes weeks in some cases. Right ?
Just thinking should I start fresh or copy everything from last year!!
