So if the last interviews are this week I would assume they would meet this week or next?

I was also given a "delayed decision" notification on February 11th and I interviewed on January 11th. I was definitely discouraged but after I picked my hopes and dreams up off of the floor I was in contact with all of the admissions committee and took some time to write a very in depth letter of intent. I also had an alumni I shadowed send an extra letter of recommendation on my behalf. Thank you for posting about the delayed decision, that information is definitely giving me hope about still getting in. I am still waiting to hear back now in April. I will let you guys know, and good luck to everyone else in the same position. Hope to see you all this Fall.

I would imagine so but who knows honestly. I am rooting for all of us! What has anyone done to help boost their decision in their favor? I was told that this is not a waitlist and that this is not necessarily a bad thing, just that they like to feel out the entire applicant pool before revisiting certain applications for acceptance. Then I am positive the amount of people who put deposits in vs those that decline for other schools will also come into play.

Has anyone figured out the reason as to why some applicants are receiving delayed decision letters with a specific month as to when they'll hear back from PCOM and others are receiving a delayed decision letter without a month (open-ended)?

This is speculation but I think this depends on when you interviewed. I have friends who interviewed Jan and Early Feb got that April 29th delayed but then also know some ppl who interviewed later in late Feb/March who got delayed with no date.

My friend and I interviewed in early January so I'm not sure if that's the reason. I'm just wondering if having a date puts you in a better position to be accepted or waitlisted. I guess I'll have to call the office of admissions to find out

If you do find out please let us know

Did your decision give a date or no date?

Yea I interviewed end of February and got no date...maybe I am freaking out and reading too much into things?

I wonder if it's a ranking thing. Like people with the date are more towards acceptance and people without are waitlist? Just speculation.

I interviewed January 11th and got a delayed decision letter in February with no date specified for when I would hear - just that it would be well before the time of classes starting. I have a feeling their idea of "well before" and my idea are very different. Has anyone with a delayed decision heard anything yet ? I thought that they would be reviewed at future committee meetings but are they instead waiting until everyone else has interviewed to look again at delayed decisions?

So I called the admissions office just a minute ago to asked about my "delayed decision date" concern and they were unable to tell me anything (which I figured would happen). They also were unable to tell me if those without a date should look to hear back from admissions by any month before August (which I also figured would happen). All in all it was a big fat fail but hey I tried 🙁

Interviewed 3/22, Delayed Decision 4/25. No date about when I could hear back, but I was specifically asked to send my grades from this semester of my grad school program. They even referred to my program by name so it wasn't just an automated letter. Makes me a little more optimistic that good grades might equal an acceptance

Interview 1/13, delayed decision 2/16 (postmarked 2/12), wait listed 4/25 (postmarked 4/22). I live in Northern VA so only 3 hours away. Many others should be receiving letters soon. Since the committee will be meeting weekly, I'm hoping that the MD multiple acceptance deadline this Friday will allow for more seats to open up as well as wait list drop outs so that we can hear even greater news on 5/9 and 5/10 **fingers crossed and prayer hands**

Just got back to Philadelphia from being on vacation to a wait list letter. It was post marked 4/22/16. Le sigh.

I am right there with you! Prayers up all the way.

I got my letter today! Waitlisted 🙁 #foreverwaitlisted #misery

Anyone see a pattern here? Delayed decisions and waitlist for whose interviewed after January. Makes a good argument for early application and interview.

I forgot to post in here.

ACCEPTED TO PCOM!!! :soexcited:

My letter was sent on Thursday, May 12 and it arrived either on Friday or Saturday but I didn't see it and open it till Sunday. I did notice a portal change on Saturday that gave me a hint as to what was coming.

I wish you waitlisters lots of luck and that you get accepted soon! 🙂

So if anyone needs a place to live (male), please feel free to message me. One of our roommates decided to go elsewhere for school and we have a spot open for the time being.

Thank you!
