they are very late this time. Not started sending any interviews yet.
 
Interview invite for September 23! Think I was complete in mid August?

Email, and they just told me the date, didn't ask me to schedule it so I'm not sure what the policy is if you can't make the date they give you!

you are in state right? I'd imagine they have a little more flexibility on dates for those of us who would have to travel cross country for an interview :laugh:
 
Hey Dudes,
I got invited for an interview on Sept 22. They sent an email and didn't give a choice of dates. The interview day seems pretty basic.

I have no idea when I was complete... guessing it was somewhere around early august, but it was all a blur haha. I am in-state, 3.72 cGPA, 3.6 sGPA, 28N MCAT.

Good luck to everyone who has heard or is waiting!
 
Congrats on the interviews everybody!!! PCOM is my top choice as of right now so hopefully I'll hear from them very soon as well!
 
does pcom give preference to pa residents like ou-com does?

Rumor has it that they are regionally biased, in particular to the areas around Pennsylvania and they want students that they believe will bring a positive impact to the city.

Edit: Philadelphia, not Pennsylvania. But if they are biased to Philly they are obviously biased to Pennsylvania.

Well as of right now they have only invited 2 in-state people that we know of so the sampling says they are in-state biased 😉 lol

Very true :laugh:. They need to go ahead and get this bias thing under control and invite me for an interview. I'm only 2.5 hours outside of Philly, that has to count for something right?

I'm only 8 hours and 6 minutes away PCOM, you can invite me on 9/23 also. I'll make the drive I promise!
 
Very very regionally based! I think something like 75 percent of my class are PA residents...with a significant portion of that from around the philly region.

If anyone wants a tour of the campus and an unbiased view of life at school away from the stress of the interview people shoot me a PM and ill make some time to chat with you!

Regarding letters uploaded.... my PCOM-Ga application now has all the letters listed as received... where as PCOM-Pa is missing only the committee letter.

Also, no "decision pending" status of any kind. I thought I had one of those before but that could have been another school intruding in my memory....

I've recently applied to PCOM- all my materials were sent in on September 3rd, do any of you approximately when I might hear back about an interview, that is, if I am invited for an interview??

Don't mean to be a downer but many of us have had our stuff in since July and are still waiting! Arg. Good luck!
 
I think they said during orientation that 63% of the class is in state.
 
did anyone who got an interview get a confirmation from the school about the interview (after you emailed them back)??

No, I didn't..I also got the same interview invitation from them again this morning, although from a different email address?? Maybe we should call the office to be sure we're confirmed?
 
Hi all - has anyone else received an invitation to a dinner/event with PCOM faculty at The Pittsburgh Athletic Association? I live in Pittsburgh right now, but I am originally from closer to Philly. I have not been invited for an interview, but received this invitation in the mail. Just wandering if I got this because I live in Pittsburgh, or if others have received it too. Unfortunately, I cannot make it to the event anyway due to prior obligations, but it sounds like a nice idea.​
 
this is a little wierd but i sent my lors twice for both campuses and on my status check it says that they recieved my college lor for the georgia campus but under the philadelphia campus it says they have yet to recieve it. So i am a bit confused here lol maybe i will call and see cause i know i sent them my advisors letter bu its only showing the status check for georgia.

okay me too. it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who got invited twice 🙂 Maybe they just switched email addresses or something??

Same thing happened to me... I did notice that the second email had my exact interview time and the first didn't. I confirmed that I would attend to both email addresses but never got a response from either.
 
Those of you who were invited for interview, what are your stats like?

Just got interview invite for 9/23! Awww yeah!!!

My stats are 3.37 cum, 27N in-state.
 
Finally got an interview here!!! 10/11. I've been waiting on this one SO long. I'm from DE so I guess they're starting to branch out, although I think PCOM participates in DIMER, which means it's delaware's state school.

They emailed me on August 18 to confirm that I was complete on July 26 and also sent me a login ID and password. I think it takes awhile for them to receive secondaries and scan them, hence the 3-week wait between being complete and getting the email. Not really sure why they're still doing snail mail.

They sent me that e-mail on the 18th as well. Then sent another one today. Probably because they received my updated primary. Still odd to see another e-mail from them though lol
 
Question: for those who used Interfoio to send letters... did you use the electronic delivery method or did you use snail mail?

PCOM is snubbing me for some reason. I've been complete for a long time, 1.5 months or so an still no word. I feel like the school keeps stringing me along instead of rejecting me already. My GPA is decent, good MCAT, DO shadowing, everything else is okay too...hmm

I don't have much luck with schools in Pennsylvania, DO or MD.

I don't think they've been snubbing you. Keep in mind they started giving out interviews less than 8 days ago. Many other people have been completed just as long as you so stay patient.

I wouldn't worry, it's still very early in the cycle. Last year I was complete for almost 2 months before I got my PCOM invite. Just give it time. 🙂
 
Interviewing here tomrrow. In state 🙂 so excited
