FINALLY!!!! an interview invite today from PCOM!!!! i'm shocked. i thought for sure i was gonna get passed over.

Congrats on the invites guys

But WHY don't they love me too

Interview invite today! It's scheduled for January 26. Woo!

Those who received invites, approximately when were you complete?

Thanks.

Completed 10/15 and got the email confirming on 10/25

Did they have all your letters and such then too?

I'm assuming the general consensus is that it takes them about 1month after receiving ALL materials to get back to you.

Congrats on the invites folks!:luck:

My school sent all of my letters as a packet the same time that I sent my secondary. Although, my letter from my DO I'm shadowing has yet to be sent because he is still working on it. Apparently the short letter the MD I shadowed was good enough for now.

i was complete in late july, just got the invite. so hang tight

I'd assume that they have a mid-month meeting, or so I hope. I had my interview on 11/3 so otherwise, I'd have quite a wait.

I bet that's the case. I just interviewed on 11/15 and they said we'd know on 12/1, which is the first Wednesday of December.

Yeah they said 12/1 as well, but I was hoping it was like most schools where they overestimate the decision date and inform you earlier than expected. Seems like the earlier acceptances have come on Thursday/Friday... Hopefully by then!

Hey guys....did anyone hear from PCOM today, 11/18 on an interview? God I hope I get one!

I was under the distinct impression that they meet on wednesdays every two weeks. It is possible that if you interviewed on a monday and they meet that wednesday then you'll receive your letter by fridayish.

If you look at everyone who's been accepted so far, all signs point towards every two weeks. In fact, in my own case, they made my decision on 10/6...definitely not in the middle of the month

They received my primary on 9/23 but never sent me an email to tell me that my secondary was complete. My bank account says that they processed the check on 10/07.

You should have gotten an email saying that they received your secondary. That email contains login information to check the status of your materials.

Does anyone have a working link for the status check?

I hope you're right! However, the next batch of acceptances after the ones on 10/6 came on 11/4 I think. This is about 4 weeks. Also, it's been just over 2 weeks for me so the every two weeks doesn't seem right either. So who knows! I guess I can do a little more waiting...

I never got an email telling me I was complete. They told me over the phone after I called them. Anyways, I got the invite for the interview on 11/17. Did that happen to anyone else?

Does anyone else have an interview scheduled for December 15th? If so let me know.

hey guys how long were your seconary essays? Mine is like 2 pages double spaced, just curious... this is my last secondary and i'm totally burned out from writing essays. Also...do you think it is too late too apply to PCOM? I have a 3.5/32, but I know many interviews have already been sent out so I donno if it is worth it.

I don't know about whether or not it is too late, but my essay was 1 page single spaced--you should be good.

Are you a PA resident? Cause I might advice that it's getting on the late side if you're not. I'm pretty they take 60% PA residents. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Best of luck either way!

I would just apply. The secondary is pretty inexpensive compared to other schools so it is worth the shot. Just apply ASAP.

😴

I'm waiting for that letter to come in the mail.

Who is waiting for a letter in here? Hope you get some good news. I'm excited that they accept a larger number of students compared to other schools.

hey all, for PCOM's secondary essay where it asks you to list your healthcare-related experiences, did you just simply make a list of them and the time committment made or did you also give a bit about what you did during the experience?

I interviewed Nov. 4th and am currently waiting for a letter. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey Yallz

interviewed 11/22 and they told me I will know by Dec 1st!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone!

What is the percentage accepted for people who are interviewed?

A couple years ago the percentage looked like 400 out of 600 interviewed (out of 800 invited for an interview), not sure how that’s fluctuated though.

What is the percentage accepted for people who are interviewed?

Last year, 66.67% of interviewees were offered acceptances. I know this from a presentation given by Deborah Benvenger, PCOM's Director of Admissions, this fall at my university.

PCOM will be receiving a phone call from me on monday. I have been complete since September 21st and still no news. My stats are definitely par with average acceptance ratings, and I have good e.c.s and lors. Do they usually take this long to send out interview invites?

I am in the same boat as you. I have been complete since late Sept. as well and still no word. I have received 6 interview invites and 2 acceptances but I am REALLY interested in PCOM and its killing me that I have heard no word.

Just so you know, calling them will do no good, I have called them several times and everytime its the same thing: "Your application is complete and under review. The review process runs through April and you may be contacted anytime from now until then".

It's frustrating but there is just nothing you can do.

What are your stats BTW?

Oh my god, count me in the waiting club too. I received the complete email at late August and haven't heard nothing from them. I received 7 interview invitations and got accepted into 4 but no word from PCOM really makes me sad. 🙁🙁

I called them like 3-4 times and it really doesn't do any good since they won't give out anything.

Well add me to the list. I also have decent stats-at least I thought I did. I am getting the impression that in order to be looked at you need a 30 mcat, which I don't. :scared:

I don't think they have a cut-off MCAT 30... I might be wrong though.

Q. Who attends PCOM?
A: In 2008, the entering D.O. Class of 2012 consisted of 267 first-time students from different colleges and states. The average class GPA was 3.43, the science GPA was 3.32 and the mean MCAT score was 26. Students averaged 24 years of age with a range from 20 to 42; 49 percent are women and 18 percent are under-represented minorities.

be patient guys. i was complete in JULY and just got an invite like a week ago.

For those of you waiting on Nov interview decisions, got my letter in the mail today (YES!).
I live in Philly, 10 mins from the school so I would bet most will be getting theirs Monday. GOOD LUCK!

The fact that people who were complete after september are interviewing worries me a little. My stats are 25O, 3.7 GPA.
