interviewed 02.02.2011. anyone have a "guesstimate" as to when I should hear back?:xf:

Also, what is Deborah Benvenger's e-mail address? I e-mailed a thank you message to [email protected] but I am not sure if she is on the receiving end of that address or if it will be directed to her.

To give you an idea of when you might hear from them, I interviewed 1/26 and my acceptance letter was sent on 2/4.

As far as contacting Deborah... All of my correspondence with her has been through the PHLinterviews email address, though I can't say if this is the best way to contact her specifically.

Good luck!

haha i see you SpaceDoc...

and I love Eagles fans, can always just ask how many championships they've won

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won....

I would have zero nickels.

The last letters went out about a week ago I think. It seems like most letters come out roughly every 3-4 weeks. So, add 3-4 weeks to that to give you an estimate. Good luck in the waiting game.

Her email address is [email protected]. I know someone who interviewed on the same day as you, and as far as I'm aware, has not heard back. I interviewed on 11/1 and received my letter on 11/5, but it seems like the usual wait is 3-4 weeks.

Hey guys. Can some of the out of state acceptees please post their stats. I know the average for accepted students in 3.45 and 27, but I suspect these numbers are very misleading for us oos applicants. I am applying here next cycle from NJ and I would like to know how much higher the numbers are for oos.

Sure! I'm from San Diego but go to school out in Indiana, and I got in with a 3.35 GPA and a 28 MCAT. However my school does have a pretty well-respected pre-med program, and I've been told that accepted students from my school usually have lower than average GPAs from among the accepted students at the school that they attend. Hope this helps!

Wow. You had a quick turn-around. End-of-the-month interview and early-month acceptance. Thanks Westonski. Congrats on your acceptance!

Yeah, 3-4 weeks is roughly what they told us in the office. Thanks ND10!

Thanks for the e-mail addy penndoc. I couldn't find that anywhere on the website or on SDN haha. That's a relief to know your friend hasn't heard back either. Keep me posted, will you? Congrats on your acceptance as well! Ill be...:xf:

Hey I am also from NJ and was accepted here. I would not worry about being an out of state applicant with PCOM because the school does not give state preference. On the day of the interview they allow you to eat breakfast with a member of the admissions staff. The person I had actually did mention that there is no in state preference because it is a private institution. It works similarly to undergrad, most private institutions do not give state preference it is more so the state supported schools that do this. So there really is not any difference in terms of the numbers for out of state versus in state residents, which is nice because it makes the playing field even. Schools that do have a state preference will usually make it apparent on their website, and when they send their secondaries out. Obviously UMDNJ has a state preference, I also know Ohio State University has an in-state preference, as well as some of the osteopathic schools on the west coast. With the exception of UMDNJ (b/c I am from NJ) I got an e-mail from other schools saying as an out of state resident I qualified for the "next round" and was invited to fill out the secondary. Some of the secondary applications actually stated that they were for Out of State Applicants at the top. As you research schools you will be able to determine which ones give preference to in state residents and which do not, but PCOM is NOT one of them. So Definitely Apply!

I've been lurking around these forums for a long time - reducing my nervousness by checking in with everyone else. So, I thought I'd post this to give others an indication of where PCOM is in the process.

I interviewed beginning of this month and just got an acceptance today. Don't think PCOM is for me though.

Care to comment why not? I usually find negative reviews the most helpful haha.

I agree! Negative reviews (at least reasonable ones) can point out some real issues.

I can't really say anything bad about PCOM though. A lot of what I didn't like is intangible. My main reason for not accepting their offer though is that I got into NYCOM. In every category, I prefer NYCOM. It's a very personal decision though.

When was your interview date? Also, what state are you from, and, if you dont mind, what were your stats? Thanks for reaching out.

My interview is towards the end of March and I am very nervous. can anyone offer me some advice as to some of the questions I may be asked. Also does anyone know when they are done with interviews?

dont be nervous (easier said than done) i thought it was a very laid back day and exciting. they just asked questions you would assume theyd ask, like why pcom, why a DO, why...(something pertaining to your app/essays), possibly whyd you withdraw from class X or not do so well in class Y, some people in my group also got a healthcare reform question (ive got it on other interviews so i suggest you have something to talk about there, they really just wanna know if youve been following it)...what stresses you out...etc. etc. check out SDN's interview feedback area. def helpful as well

honestly, when i came out of the interview i thought it was the worst interview i ever had but apparently it really wasn't since i got accepted.

it probably depends on who interviews you. my interview seemed really impersonal and there were no follow up questions. my interviewer did not make eye contact and didn't smile... it was rough for me cause i really couldn't tell what he was thinking.

like i said though, i guess i did decent.

Hey Everyone,

This is my dream school that I really really REALLY want to get into because I'm originally from PA.....lived there for most of my life and I go to undergrad on the West Coast now.....I've been waiting to hear a response from them since October and they still send me the same message that they will continue to review apps until April...

I guess I thought that they would have a preference for people from the mid-atlantic states.....but I guess not 🙁

possibly, but obviously your stats have a much much larger impact, if theyre not up to par, then you may not receive an interview invite. Good luck!!!

The interview here was very laid back, and that was the feeling everyone got the day I interviewed. It may seem corny, but just be yourself. This interview is very conversational, and at least for me none of the questions were crazy or out of the ordinary. Also, I believe the end of March is when they are done with interviews, because all accepted students have to have in a deposit by mid April in addition to the one that you have to give to reserve your seat after you are accepted. If you want to prepare definitely research the school and what it has to offer. Have a background knowledge of what osteopathic medicine is and the basic principles. Also, think about yourself. Make a list of roughly 10 thins (sort of selling points) that you want the interview panel to walk away knowing about you. These helped me a lot and I hope it helps you!

😀 Yes!!! That makes me feel so much better. This school is definitely one of my top choices.

I know stats are important and since mine aren't super spectacular....it's still upsetting to know that my dream school is ignoring me...while 7 other schools thout I was good enough for an interview.....I know I'm just being a grumbling sour puss.....but I CAN'T HELP IT! I just wanna have a chance to interview here!

Hey Guys and Gals,

I know I'm early on this, but if anyone who interviewed on the 16th gets an acceptance letter can you please post. Just trying to ease the tension.

Unfortunately...No...Maybe Today? When do the next round of interviews begin? Has anyone "kept track" of when the committee might or would meet again?

No mail today. I was with the Feb. 9th interview group though.

Did anyone interview with a Dr. Danzi (sp?) by chance? I just wanted to make sure I got the spelling correct on his name--I called admissions and the said this was how to spell it, but I couldn't find him via search and don't want to send him a thank you card with the spelling wrong lol.

But for everyone else waiting to interview, the interview day was really not intimidating at all--definitely don't work up your nerves! Everyone was extremely friendly, it was definitely more of an enjoyable experience than anything. Just the typical interview questions, nothing out of left field. It was a gross day out (cold and cloudy) and I still love love loved the school!! Fingers are crossed 🙂

Sitting at the Hilton right now getting ready for my interview tomorrow. Any SDN folks gonna be there?

Also I'm wondering, how accurate is the email that PCOM sends us regarding the actual time of our interview? Mine says 9:00am, which I think would put me at one of the first interviews. Is that what I should expect?

good luck!

when i interviewed we were running almost an hour behind but it was due to one of the interviewers being late, which was kind of a bummer.

i think unless someone is late again, you should be fine. and yes, 9 am is the first one!

Rejected. Interview 2/2. Letter dated 2/23. Looks like it's gonna be NJMS or Touro or Meharry. DO or MD...

check your mail everyone. Good luck!

does anyone know how full the class is, or how many seats are left?

They didn't mention how full the class is yesterday at our interview, but then again none of us thought to ask... I knew I'd think of more questions as soon as I left haha.

So if the last batch of decisions was made on or around 2/23, can anyone guess when the next batch might come out? I really hope I don't have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to hear. That's a really long time, particularly at this point in the application season...

I interviewed on Feb 16th (no response yet). They told us if we were going to hear anything it would be by March 15th. Deb said this long wait was due to the possibility of more snow. From what I've read on this forums it's usually a 2 week turn around for them to send out response letters.

As far as decisions, I have a friend who worked in the admissions department. She says the decision is made the day of the interview. Whatever they wrote down on the review of your application is what the committee goes by. Good Luck.

I interviewed 1/16 as well. I hope they send out decision letters before march 15... I have a $2000 deposit due at another school that same day. I wonder why it takes so long to send out letters if the final decision was made the day of our interview? Any ideas...

BC it needs to go to committee. The committee doesnt need to accept you. The interviewers opinion is just a recommendation. However I am sure they generally listen. E mail Deborah Benvenger and shoot her an e mail about your situation. 2k bones is a lot to throw away. Deborahbe at pcom.edu. FYI everyones e mail here is generally their full name + first 2 letters of their [email protected] if you ever need to get a hold of anyone!

Good luck I hope you get accepted and come to PCOM...its great here (for the most part LOL)

Yeah man I'm in the same situation. I really hope I hear in time because if I get into PCOM I will absolutely be going there. My plan is to wait until a few days before, and if I don't hear anything I'll give PCOM a call and see if they can steer me in the right direction.

Anybody interview 2/28 this monday!? Nervous but also happy that for the most part people are saying it's laid back!🙂

Thanks for the insight! I really hope that my interviewers have good recommendations and the committee wants to accept me. 🙂 HoPefully I hear back soon or I'll have to email Deb.

Hey-sorry to hear about the rejection. What state do you live in? I'm waiting to hear back and am not in state.

Has anyone else from the 2nd or 9th heard back yet?

When is your deposit due?

Well I just did the math and it looks like I'm going to be due on the 11th of March. REALLY hoping PCOM is quick with this one, I can't afford to throw away that kind of money....

Still no mail-anyone one else get anything from an interview earlier this month?

Interviewed the 24th, STILL haven't heard anything!! lol
