Think we are all still waiting....

Secondary received this morning.

Anyone else get one? I still got nothing

Nothing yet. Maybe tomorrow. I keep checking my Spam box, I've had two secondary emails land in there.

Sorry, I meant to come back and say I was jk. I didn't receive a secondary.

Doesn't really matter, I always just assume you are getting everything before me because of your baller MCAT score.

I am actually kind of happy PCOM has not sent anything out yet because I am still working on the Michigan beast and on UMDNJ. gah

You don't know a beast until you do MSU-COM's secondary...

I'm going to withdraw from MSU after I saw their tuition for OOS.

Doubt it. My GPA is pretty low.

I really don't know how to start this secondary prompt 😡 i have writer's block, I hope this secondary doesn't come out until I am done.

I thought it was pretty straight forward (Hooray for being a non-trad)

I wrote about a kid I taught who had autism, how it took patience and dedication. I haven't submitted, so I might change it entirely.

Are you two using the prompt from last year or did you receive the secondary?

I'm using the prompt from last year... but I suppose it can change.

Noting the mission and objectives of the Osteopathic profession and PCOM, please describe your personal characteristics that demonstrate your interest in this field. Include an example of an event in which your actions directly influenced the life of another person and relate this to your goal of becoming a DO.

Oh okay, you made me think it was something only non-trads would know or something.

Anyone attending the online information session this afternoon, and if so have you received the log in information?

Yeah, I guess thats true. Just took me by suprise is all. I put in a fake name anyways.

Man, that was so informative. I'm glad you all posted it last month or I wouldn't have known. I love that they have angiogram, laproscopic, and endoscopic simulators in addtion to pt simulators! So darn cool! PCOM was my top DO choice at the outset and the presentation just reified that position. 🙂

Well, I guess I'll just check on my others while I wait for this one...

Re: patient simulators

As a 4th year student, I've used the simulators a grand total of about 5 times. Granted, I'm not interested in surgery but I did simulate about 5 situations where we had to use Stan or one of his relatives. You can schedule time to go in, but good luck finding the time.

Its a nice perk, but will be less than 1% of your education. Now, surgery residents and the surgery club use the stuff more frequently, but not significantly more.

I did kind of get the feel the sims were more of an extra perk.

So I missed the open house because of a flat tire... will it look bad that I registered to go and then no showed?

You could have gotten by yourself all that info given in the open house. Wasn't fun at all.. IMHO ... talking about the online one, though.

Anyone receive the new prompt yet? I finally sit for my MCAT retake this Sat and will have time to prewrite during that torturous 1 month wait for scores to post.
