Purdue c/o 2025 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Heads up to those who haven’t read the Purdue 2024 thread. It is very possible that Purdue’s email may not have your first name or personal info. Some people were upset they were rejected by an email that said “Dear First Name.” Also some people then got sent a second rejection email with their proper details
That was a glitch in their system. They followed up with the correct emails. The school is much better than stuff like that

Does anyone know the ratio of how many are interviewed compared to accepted? I know some schools really limit down the pool for interviews but others not so much

A page or two back a couple students/alumni estimated around 260-270 interviewed, but who knows how many will be this year

I feel bad you guys have to interview virtually - I didn't even want to go to Purdue until I went to interview day and fell in love. Ask me all the questions you want or message me as to some of the reasons I picked Purdue or any other questions!

So what exactly is the interview like...do they ask you about your application? Or about current veterinary topics?

Try to stay positive! If you need someone to chat with, let me know! I’ve been in your shoes! Sometimes it takes a few rejections (even over a few years) before getting an acceptance. You’ve got this!
Thank you!! It’s definitely a disappointment, rejection hurts. But I still have 3 schools left including my in-state school. Trying to keep a positive attitude

You can always visit after interviewing as well! I know that I didn’t even really consider Midwestern until I got accepted and then went to visit and fell in love with the program and the campus!

It's a closed book interview. purdue is huge on diversity and inclusion, so expect those type of questions. Mostly your typical interview type questions "name a time you failed but overcame it" etc. usually, but not sure about this year there is usually 2 staff and sometimes an alumni (probably no alumni this year because I don't think they're allowed on campus)

If anyone did Arizona’s supplemental I assume it’ll be like that.
Was that a timed supplemental essay/written responses to interview-type questions? That’s about all I can think “asynchronous interview” would mean

edit: wow the info I wanted was in the email all along: Kira Talent - Wikipedia. I guess I can’t read when excited.

IS, went to undergrad at Purdue (not that it matters) and got rejected today. Super surprised and heartbroken. Good luck to everyone else though, Purdue is a great school and West Lafayette is one of my favorite places <3

I know how that feels! I got rejected to my IS this year and last year after speaking at lengths with their admissions committee who said I was a great applicant and everyone had no doubts i would get in easily

got two rejections today...one from Michigan state university and the other from Purdue. lol couldn't even spread out the rejections they just slapped me with them twice in one day.
Same, it makes me even more frustrated that CASPER doesn't give you your score. Getting rejected from the two schools that required it makes me feel like I bombed it.

OOS rejection. Kinda surprised but I have already been accepted to LMU and have my UPenn and Tufts interviews over the next 3 weeks! For everyone else who was rejected, remember that this process is random to a certain extent because of the hundreds of applicants each school gets, and it only takes one yes! A rejection from one school doesn't mean you won't get into others, and I'm proof of that! Good luck everyone!

OOS interview! Really wonder what asynchronous interview means...
