Just wanted to post my own stupidity around making my rank list last year to maybe spare someone this year. I was really torn about some of the programs lower down on my list and really couldn't decide. I kept putting off hammering down the final final version of my list, it seemed I just couldn't decide. I was changing it around over and over, recertifying each time and I kid you not with less than TWO MINUTES to go I decided to switch it around. I think back on this completely horrified that I could have gone from matching at my number one program (UCSF) to not matching at all. If my computer had gone down, my internet crashed, glitch in the matrix, etc. I would have been totally screwed. So all of you last minute procrastinators/unable to make decision types I would highly recommend that you certify your list a day early and go spend a day far from the computer so you can be at peace with your list. don't be as stupid as me. good luck everyone, the match will be over soon and you all can work really hard on kicking back before intern year.

LOL, they definitely give us too much time to think about it. I've flip-flopped several times but just keep reminding myself to sleep on it and always wake up going with my gut decision in the first place.

Last-minute decisions definitely tend to be of the panicky nature. I guess the best way to think of it is that a decision you've arrived upon after contemplating it for weeks is likely to be better than the one you just made a few minutes ago.

I agree. For myself I made today the last day I would change my RoL.

Previous weeks I would end up taking what people said to me, altering my rank list throughout the week, only to start the next week with my original RoL.

The last thing you want to do is get caught submitting a RoL in "transition".

Honestly, even moreso than with objective tests, your first instinct is going to be right, especially with something as subjective as your RoL.

OK, forgive my stupidity about the rank list process (because this thread is entitled "rank list stupidity", I feel not too ashamed to post here; at least it will be relevant), but once it says "certified ROL" at the top in green, does that mean I'm good to go? Do I have to do anything else to make sure I'm going to be matched (or at least be entered into the process)?

Thanks guys!

That's it... once you are certified you are good to go. (You are also free to make changes and re-certify as often as you like.)

3. take xanax
