any ideas what the rank/match ratio for the more competitive programs might be?

usually the invitation/spot ratio is about 10:1..but of course not veryone is going to rank the respective program at 1, and at the top programs the top candidates most probably get distributed more or less evenly between the programs....
so how deep do these programs have to go on their rank list? any input?

My PD says the UCSFs of the world go to about 4:1 and that the big 4 (UCSF, Hopkins, Brigham, MGH) all share the same pool. Otherwise they would have a tighter ratio.

Good luck.

kind of what i thought...4:1 for the top 4or 5 programs and myabe 5:1 for the Cornells, UPenns and Columbias.....

interesting though..if that is true, then once you had your interview at one of these places and you rank them at #1 you essentially have a 50% chance of matching.....woudn't have thought
