Hi:
Iam a 4th yr med Student and I have rescheduled my retake CS exams for Jan 4, 2008. The CS result may not be released before the match. I am not sure how this will affect my match. I had already attended couple of interviews (before my failed CS result was released) in IM and also not sure how they will view my candidacy and ranking in their list for the match now. Could someone advice me on how to handle this situation. I am pretty sure that they have received my initial failed CS score by now. My Step1 and step 2 CK scores were not too great. During my interview sections, most of these programs were very impressed with my research publications before and during med school. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

any thoughts on why you might not have passed the first time around? i wonder how programs actually receive the score updates when we decide to submit them automatically. Do they get an email, or do they have to manually upload? If the later, I am thinking that some programs don't upload again after the actual interviews are done. You may want to ask your schools residency program to see how this score shows up. You should get advice from your school and home residency program if you feel you can talk to them- especially if they were your letter writers.

Thanks for your response. I think the score is automatically sent to the program since I indicated so during the ERAS application. True, they might not look at my record after the interview but will surely look at it again before the final ranking.

What is the process like to reschedule CS, and how long does it take? For example, does it require reapplying again even if I'm still within my 1-year eligibility, and does it require getting a new scheduling permit? I'm in a bit of a time crunch, so if someone could please tell me how long it takes to reapply from the date you get your score to the date you schedule your exam, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
