The bell rings, bright and clear, echoing down the halls as lockers pop open and closed in cheerful bursts. Someone’s already practicing pep chants near the gym. The smell of coffee and cafeteria breakfast drifts through the air. A banner hangs over the main hallway:

Welcome to SDN High, where tradition matters, spirit is strong, and every day is another step toward graduation. The trophies gleam. The floors shine. The morning announcements remind everyone about the upcoming dance, club meetings after school, and the importance of being on time for class.

Everything is running exactly as it should.

Students settle into their desks, exchanging notes and inside jokes. Teachers take attendance with practiced efficiency. The new Class President is announced, greeted with polite applause and a few eye rolls. Leadership looks good on them. It always does, at least at first.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens.
Nothing worth worrying about.

Of course, a locker door keeps swinging open on its own near the science wing. No one claims it. A name on the attendance sheet is mispronounced, then skipped entirely when no one answers. Someone swears there were more people in homeroom yesterday, but laughs it off. Must be nerves. Must be Monday.

When the final bell rings, students head home, homework in hand, confident that tomorrow will look just like today. SDN High has been doing this for years. Same routines. Same smiles.

And if anything ever goes wrong…

General Gameflow​

1. The story of this game is entirely made up, with some inspiration from the many campy high school-related movies and shows I have watched in my lifetime and some familiar tropes. Writeups may or may not reflect actual game events.

2. Cycle Timing: 24 hour days, 24 hour nights. Day cycles will open at 9pm EST / 6 pm PST and close at 9pm EST / 6pm PST the next day. Votes will not be counted once the SDN timestamp reads 9:00 (or 21:00 if you're fancy). Night actions are due at 8pm EST during the night cycle to allow extra time for processing so the thread can open relatively on time. The thread will be OPEN for chatter during the night cycle but may be locked between cycle closes and writeup postings.

3. Plurality for yeet vote is in place. There will be no official majority yeet vote at any point in this game, though if there is an overwhelming, unmoving wagon we may close early. Yeet votes will never be locked in - feel free to unvote and vote again at your leisure. Mods will post official tallies as we are able but it will help you and us to keep track yourselves as well.

4. Unless you have been told otherwise, your night actions cannot be used on yourselves, or on the same player on consecutive nights.

Rules​

Note that these rules must be followed. We will not hesitate to enact punishment for breaking them, up to and including mod killing and restriction from signing up for future games if warranted.

1. The first and most important rule is that this is a GAME that is meant to be FUN. It will be much more FUN if you operate from the assumption that the other players are just doing what they believe is best to achieve their wincon; they are likely not ACTUALLY trying to hurt your feelings or be mean. We understand that things can get heated and emotions can run high when we are accusing each other of murder, but there will be no tolerance for hostility, excessive appeals to emotion, or personal attacks on other players. If mods see that things are getting out of hand, we will ask the involved parties to take a break from the thread. It is much, much better if you can police yourselves and take breaks when you need them. If we have to step in, you can consider that your one and ONLY warning.

2. Do not discuss the game outside of this thread and your role PM unless you are specifically allowed to do so by the mods. You should also avoid discussing game strategy with people in real life.

3. Place votes in bold or ####between numerous octothorpes#### using the terms "vote" or "yeet". If you have already placed a vote, you must unvote to place a new one. "No vote" and "sleep" are not options. Please tag the mods @GoSpursGo @WildZoo @kaydubs (or at least Spurs and KD) on your votes.

4. Participate, participate, participate. I am not a mod who tolerates ghosting. We spent time building this game, and by signing up you committed to play it. There are no specific participation requirements for this game, but you will be nudged if we feel you are slacking. Life does happen, so if things get busy let us know and send in contingency actions.

5. Subs are available for extenuating life circumstances only, not to replace ghosty players. If you require a sub, please contact the mods directly. Do not post about it on the thread.

6. Once you are dead, you are not allowed to strategize on the thread. If you are going to post, you must post in asterisks

Please limit the amount that you post, and limit content to fun comments or cheering for your team. Just as you should be careful with what you post after death, you should also be careful with what posts you like/react to. Use your best judgement, don't like posts with strategy in them. You would be surprised how what you say or like can sway players' thoughts, even if you think it is innocuous. So err on the side of caution.
DO NOT DISCUSS THE GAME WITH LIVING PLAYERS ONCE YOU HAVE DIED.

7. Direct quoting or copy/pasting of PMs, including conversations with the mods, is not allowed. Screenshots are not allowed. Fake copy/pasting, quoting, and screenshots are not allowed either.

7. You may edit posts, but do not delete them, and do not edit yeet votes.

8. Do not discuss or share your night results before the writeup is posted (the thread may be locked to prevent this anyway). However, you are free to continue to strategize between yeet close and writeup, unless I've locked the thread, which I might do if I feel like typing in silence.

9. Please acknowledge your role by reacting to the first post in your role PM.
 

Class President​

Popularity still matters here. So does being noticed. So does making sure people are on your side. Every night, the student body will quietly choose who gets to wear the crown next. Just a little extra influence. Just a little extra attention.

What do high schoolers do at night? Stay up and talk about each other, of course.

Each night, the town will vote on a "Class President." Players are allowed to vote once per night in secret (aka do not discuss your votes publicly) via PM to the mods in your role PM, and once you have voted the vote cannot be changed. Players cannot vote for themselves. Players cannot be voted Class President more than once per game, and Class President may be abolished by the mods as we reach the end game.

In the event of a tie for the Class President vote, the tie will be broken by the moderators according to a pre-determined method. If the winner of the Class President vote dies before they can become Class President, the second leading vote getter becomes Class President, and so on.

The Class President will have an extra vote in that day's yeet vote.

At SDN High, popularity is power. But power can change hands with the turn of a vote. Choose wisely...

It's been a good weekend. Some of you traveled to play the big game against your hated rivals from Reddit High. Others spent the weekend hopping from party to party. Maybe you finally got around to finishing that project that you'd been procrastinating on all semester. Regardless, it's time to cozy into bed and get ready for the week. As the glow from your phone illuminates your face, you get the email notification reminding you that you need to vote for the next Class President.

Tough call. You definitely want to start the week with someone reliable at the head of the school, making good decisions that everyone else can sheep... er, follow. And Monday will probably set the tone for the whole week.

The pull of the socials is strong. Better decide quickly so you can go back to doomscrolling...

Night Actions/Class President Votes closes at 8pm EST TOMORROW, 1/26 (and Day 1 will start at approximately 9pm EST).

Sorry, was copy/pasted from an intro post for another game that started during a day cycle.

In this case I mean night actions, which includes Class President vote. With the caveats outlined in the same post.
 
Wanna know the tragedy i just had

I made tomato soup for dinner cause it’s cold af. Got the genius idea to open a bag of spicy dill pickle goldfish and put them in the tomato soup

Opened the bag and

THE GOLD FISH HAD NO SEASONING!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭

Still tasty af but i was so sad to have plain mildly cheesy crackers instead of dill pickle goldfish 😭
