If I remember correctly, I submitted my application around January 20th. The acceptance email I received said that I was considered during “priority admissions” and I spoke to the director of the program who told me they weren’t sending out most of the offers until around the beginning of March. Keep your head up, I’m confident it’s not late enough in the game to be too worried yet.

It's one thing to email and ask about your status because you have another offer with a deadline for acceptance, but I'm personally trying to wait until the tail end of March. It helps to go through the old threads and see all the people who got acceptances later in the game. The waiting is super stressful though

My friend who was accepted at Northwestern only received an email confirming her acceptance.
I received an email yesterday where a professor from Brown was asking for an interview; was interviewed and accepted today by phone and email.
 
I'm really pissed right now and need to vent. I've just received my third rejection (and no acceptances), and at this point, I'm so over it. I have a 3.9+ GPA at an elite, research institution and three years of research experience. I invested so much time into these applications, and at this point, I'm not even sure that I'll get one acceptance.

Hmm, thats definitely frustrating. So I'm assuming you had strong LOR's? Did you have any other extracurriculars? And I'm assuming your three years of experience are all in college? I'm honestly surprised you haven't been admitted either cause I think most people that post that they've been accepted don't have as high of GPA or as many years experience but I guess that goes to show that theres sometimes no predicting your odds for acceptance to these programs.

Added: Also do you make it clear that your not just pre-med, that you're interested in a PhD or MD-PhD? I know that its big for most programs that you're career goals include research.

If you don't mind me asking, what programs did you apply to?
 
I’m curious why out other ECs matter. They only asked about our research experience on the applications and didn’t ask for CVs...So how did u guys include your other ECs on the application?

I talked about my volunteer experiences at a clinic in my personal statement. I didn't mention all ECs, just whichever seemed relevant to my application. I also talked about my athletics when talking about teamwork.

Someone last year talked about how they applied to 10 places and got rejected everywhere. Then during their MD-PhD cycle they had 14 interviews including multiple top 10 ones and ultimately matriculated at their #1. If you keep doing what you’re doing you’ll have a great cycle whenever you apply for med/grad programs. Plus schools like longitudinal experiences more anyways. Don’t get discouraged! 🙂

I also applied for Rutgers Rise, but didn't get to send my complete application until January 31st. Did they say how many "priority admissions" they sent out?

Yeah I feel like I had good LORs, especially since I've had long term relationships with my lab mentor and the professor I asked for the other one. I have three years of basic science research and one summer of clinical research. I'm pretty involved on campus - started my own club, head of honors research organization, and volunteer at hospital, among other things.

I put down MD-PhD (and I think also maybe PhD). I really enjoy research, but I'm not sure what my future plans look like yet.

I'm trying to stay positive. Hopefully things will start looking up...

A geoscience major international student here. Got rejected by Stanford SURGE last Friday as a semi-finalist. There was a short math test between application and interview so I felt like I was beaten by math lol. Anyway, still waiting on MIT MSRP, 1/3 summer internships I applied. So although the chance is little, hope I'll hear some good news soon. Finger crossed for us...

They didn’t mention any specific numbers to me, but I think the applications are still open so I’m sure they’re still going through them.

Hey, I feel you. Technically I have a 4.0 (clean slate school, but my transcript does show some B's), I have a lot of great experience, work as a lab tech, etc. I also have glowing recs. I'm used to being a standout because my school is small and my profs know me more personally, so they know I'm a hard worker and a good researcher. It's hard to put your true worth down on an application like that. I'm pretty sure my personal statement sucked, even though I was happy with it, and I really regret not having someone look over it.
Personally, I picked up a new hobby to keep me distracted and make sure I have some "me" time when I'm not studying. I recommend that to everyone. But I have full faith that you'll be a great doctor 🙂. Maybe email some of the committees back and ask if they can give feedback on your apps so you can come back stronger when you apply to med/grad school.

I think you may have misread my email, I have not gotten accepted to any programs this cycle so far haha. But yes the past two summers I have heard back from email. However last year I also received phone calls of my acceptance prior to getting an email.

If you're referencing my response earlier, I don't even know if ECs do matter, I just know that some of the programs I applied to asked about some things like that and some 2/3 of the ones I applied to I submitted a CV.

Is anyone here familiar with the quality of the Mayo Clinic SURF or had a friend in the program? Do these programs ever publish undergraduates? I was accepted today but I'm questioning whether if I should go there or just stay at my home institution.
