Texas A&M c/o 2023

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anyone know what number to call admissions at? When I use the phone number posted on the website it says I need an ID and PIN to continue...

Have you tried contacting the admissions coordinator, Yolanda? I’m not sure if posting phone numbers is allowed, so I’ll pm you.

Thank you, but she just answered my email!

For anyone who is going to the dinner after interviews, what are you wearing?

Does anyone know how to go about doing a file review? I've heard they've changed the way it's done, maybe in the form of the application workshop held in May. Is there a way to get a one on one review?

Well last year they offered a one-time workshop, I was on the waitlist after the interview and did not get a spot. I was not able to attend in person, but they give you a document that shows how you rank compared to everyone else in every area except recommendations. Hope that helps!

Just finished my interview... I think I bombed it lol. I am a little confused about the selection process after the interview. The website says that the bottom 20% of interviewed applicants are rejected, but our email says that we must receive 50% of interview points to remain as qualified applicants. Which one do y’all think is correct?

Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile

I think they are both correct. About 60% -ish of people interviewed will get a spot, the last 20% will not and the other (or some of the ) 20% may get in the waitlist. That 80% had a 50% and above score on the interview. This is my assumption, given past statistics and knowing that interviews went on till 7pm on the two interview dates. 😵 I also feel like I bombed mine. However, others felt that last year too and got in! Best of luck! :shy:

Can it be the end of February yet???

It seems like OOS applicants hear about decisions a week earlier than IS applicants based on the previous threads, so you MIGHT hear next week. :ninja:

I went thread stalking again, because I am bored and have nothing better to do before work. :whistle:Anyways, this is when IS applicants of previous cycles heard back.

Class Date

2019 - Feb 18th around noon via email

2020 - Feb 18th around noon via email

2021 - Feb 27th around 11:40 am via email

2022 - Feb 22nd around 11:10 am via email

From what I gathered on from previous threads, it seems that OOS accepted apps are called a week before IS hear back. OOS waitlisted and rejected find out decisions the same day as IS.

Impressive. I figured we would hear after the 22nd, as they informed us about interviews a few days later than usual (as past sdn's posts indicate). :wideyed:

Haha! This post is great! I’ve stalked those threads so many time but never kept record of the previous data!

I have a question for interviewed applicants- i have not mailed my thank you notes yet. Is it too late to mail them? Do y’all think it will negatively affect my chances?

I thought it was up to how fast TMDSAS processes fall transcripts and recalculates everybody’s GPAs that determines when we hear back? Our interviews were still the first weekend of January like the previous cycles, so I’m not sure hearing back about interview invites later than usual would make a significant difference on final decisions.

Honestly, I haven’t mailed in any thank you notes either. I don’t think it’s too late tbh. Better late than never!

I wrote all 12 and they’re just sitting on my coffee table haha!! So terrible!!

That’s what I thought as well! TMDSAS has already confirmed my recalculated GPA. I think once the transcript has been processed it’s all technically recalculated. Hence, the deadline to submit transcripts by 1/17 (?). Same as the historical classes!

Me: *knows we won't hear anything until at least next week*

Also me: *refreshes email every 10 minutes until work*
Do they call for acceptances or email?

How did you get the names of all 12? I don't have that good of a memory and you couldn't take your notes our of the room.

I wrote 12 notes that all said the same thing and mailed them to:

Let's cross our fingers that we hear back sometime this week! :xf:

I really wish we hear this week, but I have a feeling we’ll hear next week. I did some thread stalking again. On the TAMU c/o 2021 thread, someone wrote that the admission’s committee met on 02/24 (Friday). They heard back regarding decisions on 02/27 (Monday).

Edit: I got the initial date wrong! If it’s a 3-day turnover rate between the committee meeting and sending decision emails, then theoretically we could hear this week if the admissions committee met today or meets tomorrow, right?

Did anyone take the upper level statistic requirement online and if so, where?

Okay not to get everyone excited or anything because this is UNCONFIRMED, but I heard from a friend who heard from a friend who heard from someone on admissions that they met today. Again, I have no way to actually confirm this, but hopefully we will hear back soon!

Good luck to you all! We are getting everything situated for the class of 2023, so y’all should be hearing back any day now. Despite the outcome, you should all feel very proud of yourselves & your accomplishments thus far. I know the waiting game is pure agony, but you’re almost there & we can’t wait to welcome the new class!

What button do I press to like this comment twice? 😛

Yes I feel you!! I didn’t pass the interview last year so I’m definitely worried!! Best of luck to you!!!!

Did you go the admission's workshop last year? If so, did you find it helpful? I've heard it's geared more for students that couldn't get an interview.
