I received confirmation of my supplemental application this morning and my application is now received/under review. I am out of state and very much interested in this school, however I know they interview and accept very few OOS applicants. I did attend a Florida school for my undergraduate studies so I don't know if that would make a difference in my overall application to the admissions committee. Do you think that I have a shot at receiving an interview for this school?
GPA (science, overall) 3.73 sGPA/3.85 oGPA
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 21/21/25/24/none

I think you have a shot at an interview but they take very few OOS, like maybe 3. Residency is determined by your home . But if you don't try you definitely won't get in. Interview is important, make sure you have good shadowing and if you do any mission work or community free dental service is a plus , they like that. Good luck!

Dear applicants:
I am a Florida resident for more than 10 years and graduated from a Florida public school this year.
My stats are high as compared with the stats posted in this thread.
Because I only applied UF dental school and have interview done, I worry and wonder
-- how likely I will be rejected?
-- what may I do before Dec 1 to improve my odds?
I appreciate your help.

Nope. Still no invite, so that probably means I won’t get one.
There’s still time for an interview but UF is strong on instate, just keep that in mind. I looked at OOS friendly schools, didnt want to waste my time and money if they weren’t going to consider me.

Anyone that has interviewed did you just get a phone call from the school? They wanted to know if I had any more questions or if they could help me in anyway. I said no that I was just waiting for Dec 1 and to hear. He then said something about I should be recieving a packet that would explain what needs to be done after Dec 1. So what the hell does that mean!? It totally threw me off when I saw the call was from the dental school, then to have this conversation. I’m not sure what to think . Anyone else get a call like this?

I would say that seems like a pretty good sign. I think last year people received phone calls before getting accepted but this is way earlier than last year. I think people started receiving phone calls toward the end of November. I think you should take it as a positive for now. I did not receive a phone call. Hopefully, i will hear from them soon.

Do you think it’s a bad sign if I didn’t receive a phone call yet?

I didn't get anything either...really depressed now lol interviewed August 4th

To be honest I really do think it went well, and I don't mean to sound entitled or anything but my stats are above their averages @Kingfish23

No I don't think it's a bad sign. I'm really not sure what it means. Someone said they did call last year but not this early so it could mean nothing. I don't know if the schools understand what kind of stress we are under. These things don't help. I'm just trying not to think about it and go on....12/1 will be here and then will see...

Did they say about the same thing to you. I wasn't sure what to make of it... nervous to think more of it....
Same thing, asked if I had questions since my interview. They called right before my class started, so I was a bit off-guard, but I did speak for a few minutes.

I looked on last year's C/O 2021 thread, looks like people got calls in late November, pre-Thanksgiving. As far as I remember, everybody who got a call in the thread was accepted. Some people didn't get a call, but were still accepted (I could be wrong).

Do you remember around what time they called you? and who called you?

It was Monday afternoon, forgot the persons name, some guy from the dental school. I was a bit shocked when they called , wasn’t expecting anything from them. Just don’t know what to think. Haven’t heard from any of the other schools I’ve interviewed with...

Hi guys. I interviewed at UF on November 1st and my status on AADSAS has changed from "invited for interview" to "received/application complete". I know some people were saying they had a status change as well. Does anyone know if this is normal or what it means? Just weird because that's what other schools I applied to say that I never even interviewed at..

I had 2 schools do that to my status after I interviewed. Looks like schools report differently from what I am looking at. I’m not sure what it means .

I got the phone call but wasnt able to answer so they left a message but basically said what was already said above. Asked if I had any questions and let me know that towards the end of november they will send everyone who was invited to interview a packet detailing what to expect come Dec. 1.

Not sure how they're going about giving these calls but I have not done FAFSA yet. On that note, is there an incentive to completing it before Dec. 1? I know we have until Dec. 15 to complete it so was wondering if completing it before then means you get your financial aid package with (potential) acceptance. Any insight is greatly appreciated! I guess if I picked up this could have been something I asked the admissions rep lol

May I ask around what time they called you and when was your interview? Also i think UF does give out need base scholarship/grant, although this may be very limited and you probably would have to very financially needy and you have to submit your parents' info as well. So completing it early might be beneficial in that regard because you need to submit it on time to be guaranteed consideration for those scholarships. Other than that, we are all allowed to take federal loans and when we decide to submit the fafsa doesn't really matter as long as its before the deadline i believe.

Does anyone know if I have not received a supplemental although I submitted AADSAS to UF in June if I am still being considered for an interview or have they stopped sending supplementals? Thanks!

They called late afternoon on Monday, I interviewed in September. And thanks, good to know!

@Zippojake @Football823 @Mukmu
For those of you that received a phone call, did you already submit your fafsa before receiving the phone call? Also, did anyone receive emails from UF other than the ones regarding fafsa?

I received a few emails from UF to regarding submitting my FAFSA before receiving the call, which I wasn't unable to answer. But, I did submit my FAFSA after listening to the voicemail... just in case that was something the school was waiting on. Fingers crossed

Still no phone call. Interviewed in August

I think they are working backwards. Out of all my friends it seems that is the trend. The first call went to the latest interview and so forth. I am sure you will get a call very soon! My interview was end of August and I just received the call. Like others have mentioned they allow you to ask questions and mention they will send out a packet to the interviewees about what to do come December 1st whether you get accepted or waitlisted. HOPE I get accepted and not waitlisted of course... but, just gotta stay positive! Best of luck!

So far I have not got any phone call. Dose this mean I am rejected? Please help.
Thanks.
did you go for an interview? if so, when was your interview? I think the phone calls were for those that interviewed a bit further back and UF just wanted to kind of give them an update of what to expect and see if there were any lingering questions that may have came up between when the applicants interviewed and now.

Thanks for your reply and happy holiday to all.

I was interviewed recently and my stats are pretty good. I am a resident of FL.
However, I have not got calls from UF.
Could you please tell how likely I will be accepted?

Wish all of you good luck!

Received the call on Tuesday and interviewed late July.

Got another email from Fl today.. of course was nervous when I first saw it because I knew it wouldnt be an acceptance.. so I was hoping it wasn’t bad news. Just a recap of what to expect 12/1. Like I don’t know already....really .. are they trying to drive me nuts. I am going to stop looking at emails until 12/1, this is too crazy.. LOL.
