Hi All,
Does anyone know how the Texas system deals with out-of-state applicants? Is there a separate waitlist? Specifically, any info. about UT-Houston would be great!

Congrats to all w/acceptances 👍 , good luck to the waiters (I am one 🙁 )

well, in hindsight I should have been smart enough to change the web page address from the list last yr from a 6 to 7. 😀

haha student affairs! (in all reality they are super nice and lifesavers for all the 'drama' of applying for residency)

I agree, that last scene was pretty hot. This whole debate over who's going to be chief really gets on my nerves. I'd probably fire them all (except for bailey, addison, and izzy of course)

That fight gets on my nerves too. Attendings aren't supposed to act like 4 year olds... wtf?

But I called it when Torrez first made the comment about Izzie/George and started ranting "If they do that I'm swearing off this crappy show for good..."

Oh well - more time for Scrubs and House 😉

I was pissed when George said Izzy was 'gorgeous" and made it seem like callie was a big lump.

I think Callie is the best lookin' woman on that show!

...and did that rat bazzztid George sleep with Izzy??😡


I don't watch Grey's regularly, but Shonda is a "friend of a friend" so I Tivo it to support her.

Dr Cox of SRUBS did make fun of Grey's last night.

House hasn't jumped the shark, he got swallowed by a great white WHOLE.

I'm a girl, and even I think that Callie is the hottest girl of them all. Meredith and Christina are plain scary, and Izzy is to whitewhashed (some tanning and eyeliner never hurt anyone).

I want Adama to stop being an ass to my Apollo - that's what I want. I'm really not a pretty boy kind of girl but Apollo is just hawt.

all this grey's talk...makes me want to watch it just for the hot girls (minus whoever the asian one is).

i spend my thurs nights laughing my ass off watching scrubs. dr. reid is pretty hot. i'd venture to say elliott > all grey's girls.

BSG is the shiznit, but this season has been a little bit slow-moving and disjointed (especially the ones after the "Eye of Jupiter" episode -- almost no Cylons in any episode!)

I don't think that Starbuck is/was a Cylon, becuase the actress that plays her is off the show "for good." If she were a Cylon she'd be back. Also, why would that other Cylon dude have kept her locked up with him like that on New Caprica if she were a Cylon.

Supposedly, in the two part Season Finale (Part 1 is tomorrow!) some or all of the final 5 will be revealed. The rumor is also that there will be new information sort of re-defining what Cylons are. Sounds intriguing, and hopefully it's not lame. I love the series, but it needs to get back to its Pegasus/Resurrection Ship greatness.

No way that Callie touches Number 6 in terms of hottness. Sorry. Boomer/Athena/Number 8 is no slouch in the hottness dept. either. Lee is probably the best looking guy on that show, but I wonder what women would see in him since he's such a little wuss. I think that the Admiral needs to put a boot up his a$$ and tell him to stop being such a wuss. As a bit of trivia, the actor that plays Lee guest-starred in an episode of Cold Case 2-3 weeks ago.

I've just lost interest in BSG in the past few months. Yeah, way too slow moving, and it doesn't seem like any episodes get you anywhere. Also, the president just bugs the hell out of me -- she's such a freaking hypocrite, and it seems like they're always giving her a pass for whatever evil and oppressive thing she wants to do.

I agree with your Starbuck assessment. I'm also glad she's dead because her character became some flat and onesided. It's like they never figured out what to do with her. Lee, too, is another character that they just haven't done anything good with. Getting him fat was a unique story twist, though. 🙂

So for hotness and general character goodness, I'd have to go with Baltar. That show would be nothing without him. 🙂

No letter yet from UTSA, but a phone call a while ago told me I definitely wasn't on it (as did the lack of a waitlist letter).

Didn't get anything from UTH, but I emailed Tiffany Reyes to ask if i was on the alternate list and she said no, so that's as good as a rejection I guess.
 
Ana, congrats on Baylor (quite late, I know, I wasn't here on spring break)!

I definetly gotta agree that Addison is the hottest (and I'm a girl). I think that guys really like red hair. And does anyone know if baylor are still giving out acceptances? I am not hoping for much, but it's always good to know.

Dude, that match list doesn't look much different from A&M's list (from previous years,) IIRC, so I wouldn't feel too bad about going to TCOM if A&M doesn't work out.

yea i don't feel bad about going to TCOM. i just had my heart set on TAMU and it'd be so much better. TCOM rocks too (actually ranked higher than TAMU in primary care, not that rankings matter)

and how the heck did we end up at the bottom of page 2? you people are slacking off! i saw a commercial for mountain dew with chuck norris during the mavs v pistons game today, and i thought of the TX thread.

I finally received rejections for schools that I knew I had been rejected from, but that kept withholding their precious sheets of papers. Nothing for months and then I get like 5 rejections letters in one week.
 
My fellow Texans! Pull together! We must fight the pull onto the second page so that we may remain on the first page, where we deserve to be! Surely there must be something exciting to discuss! How about match madness and the Aggies heading to the SWEET 16! Whoop! 👍

my hope's pretty much non-existent now...too low on UTSW's and it sounds like UTMB's WL might not even move...although i did send a nice update/interest letter to them

i'm busy sending out emails today to some profs at UTSW and Baylor, inquiring about their research...gonna find me a lab to work in 😉

1) Good idea about finding a lab... Good Luck!
2) I just dropped a UTMB acceptance, and I'm sure other people will too, so hold on to hope
3) The non-rolling admission folks (Harvard, Penn, Yale, etc.) have/will soon be sending out letters, which may set off wait list movement, you never know

p.s. got my thin letter from Harvard today... oh well, I'm way too attached to my lite-brite to move to boston anyway
 
Oh man that A&M game took a few years off my life but now we are in the sweet 16 baby...final four here we come.

I work at UTSW. If you have some (any) lab experience you should be able to get a job there. I like it here--its been good to me. I didn't even contact pi's, I just filled out the online app and hand delivered it to the HR department. PM me if you have any questions!
 
Thanks for the posts guys. On another note, has anyone this year or in the past made an appt with Dr. Kellaway to talk about re-applying? She mentioned that I could in an email response...I think it would be really helpful.
 
Well, got back to school and sure enough, I DID have a WL letter from UTH. I was very excited, it was like an acceptance letter...but not.


DianaUT, same thing was mentioned to me, I'd say jump on it.
