Everyone's so eager to get revolting! But we've gotta wait for everyone just in case there's some disagreeors.

One way or another, I'm ready.

We gain more information for the resistance with a failed mission anyway.

I won't be shocked if we have a successful mission.... like I said, it could be good strategy for a spy to allow this to succeed.

A wolf in sheep's clothing?

Approve
Just on briefly at lunch! Will be back later on tonight.

Why are you giving the spies ideas?! 😕

I will

can we just end it and move on already? we have 15 of 16 people, and @dyachei didn't seem to have much to add when she checked on earlier

Jojo is cranky in this game.
It's like he is channeling someone very familiar to me… oh yeah… me.

FFM picked out his team, and no one seemed to have anything to say besides "approve," other than dyachei, who was snoring heavily in a corner, unable to be roused.

Without further ado, @Lissarae06 @Cyndia @Mad Jack @SummerTheLynx and @wolfspeaker loaded up their gear, both weapons and explosives (though they hoped they would only need the latter), and set out.

You five, I await your Success or Fail PMs.

RUMBLERUMBLERUMBLE. The group waited with baited breath as the capital trucks rolled across the overpass they were crouched beneath. Once the diesel engine faded into the distance, the squad went into action. Mad Jack and Wolfspeaker started down a dark alleyway, while the other three began ascending a nearby fire escape. The two groups were both headed towards a munitions depot several blocks inside the city walls.

“I still don’t like that we had to go through the sewers to get up in here,” Cyndia lamented. Lissa responded with a glare, “It was a lot faster than waiting for the shift change.” Cyndia shrugged in agreement, glad that she had at least waterproofed her boots recently. The three began moving over the rooftops, careful not to make too much noise. After a few minutes, they arrived at the large, unassuming brick building they knew was their destination. STL quickly tied a rope around one of the many exhaust pipes lining the roof; he dangled himself over the ledge and jimmied a window open. One by one, they hung over the ledge and slipped inside.

The trio slipped down to the main stores and each one planted a bomb on a pillar. They were a little surprised that there weren’t more guards around, but then again, this was the first time the rebels had brought the fight to the capital. They would have to get out fast, so they planned on leaving on the ground. They went to a nearby window and made sure the coast was clear. They saw the two buildings on which MJ and WS were stationed with their sniper rifles, just in case.

Lissa dropped a rope out the opening, which unfurled until it was a foot or two off the ground. She began rappelling down, followed by STL and then Cyndia. Each landed with a soft thud, but as soon as Cyndia began moving away from the rope, the quietness was shattered.

WOOFWOOFWOOFWOOF. “THEY’RE OVER HERE!” Suddenly a spotlight lit up on the corner of a nearby shop and began swiveling towards the three.

“Dammit. RUN!” Lissa cried. They started booking it. The spotlight nearly caught up with STL, but suddenly there was a muffled CRACK, followed by the sound of glass falling to the pavement below. WS drew the bolt of her gun back and loaded another round. She called over to MJ, who had just placed a well-aimed bullet into the chest of one of the capital guards. “We gotta get out of here, blow it!”

MJ reached into his satchel and pulled out the detonator. He raised his eyes to the rigged building. He pushed the button. Click.

Nothing.

MJ pushed the button again and again. Clickclickclick. The building remained standing. “Mother******.” He threw the detonator back in his bag and turned to run. He and WS began tearing off across the skyline, hoping against hope to make it out alive. Cracks rang out both above and below.

Down on the streets, STL had drawn his pistol and taken out a dog that had latched onto Cyndia’s leg. “Thanks,” she spat out breathlessly, as they kept heading towards the main sewer drains. STL nodded, blood from a newly acquired hole in his shoulder seeping through his coat.

The five squadmates ran into each other above the manhole they’d entered from, but they didn’t waste time with pleasantries, and dropped into the darkness below.

The Mission has failed
.

There was 1 act of sabotage to the mission.

The squad gave all the details to the rest of the group. They were all visibly disappointed, but knew that there is always a possibility of something going wrong.

“Do you think someone tipped off the guards?” saya asked. MJ responded, “Hard to say, it might’ve just been bad juck. The explosives, however…something got tampered with.”

Rojo knew he had a tough task ahead of him to pick out a team for the next mission. It was going to be a little more difficult than last time, especially with the guards on alert, so he planned on selecting 6 squad members.

Hmm. With the spies having no way to communicate, there was likely only one spy in the initial group, as they had no way of communicating to ensure one voted success and the other voted failure. Most likely, 4 of 5 of the initial crew were rebels.

Ok, so I have 2 different ways I can go about this, and will seek opinions before I submit my crew.

First off, the assumptions I am making is that
A) there are 5-6 spies, following the typical 33% spies in these games
B) those from Mission 1, since the spies couldn't coordinate who was going to sabotage, they all voted as they should have voted, meaning 4 of the 5 on the mission are resistance members
C) If A and B, then of the 11 people left, 4-5 of them are spies, meaning that only 6-7 of them are resistance members.

So, I really should select 2-3 people from the failed mission, and 2-3 people from those not picked....

OR i could blacklist the first group and go only from those not selected, but given that, how am i going to get 6 resistance members?

I'm leaning towards a mixture group.

I think a mixture group is the way to go.

I think blacklisting everyone just puts us in a tougher position down the road and doesn't give us as much information.

Like the census! Hehe

A mixed group seems like a good choice. If you go with a group of entirely new people, they know that there's almost a 50/50 mix of spies to non-spies, so if they all vote to sabotage, we don't really learn much... Since we have five targets and can only fail two missions, that would pretty much be suicide, as we would have no overlapping missions by which to separate out the rebels from the spies, so mission 3 would just consist of a bunch of random guessing. Honestly, this game seems pretty damn hard for us to win as rebels with this many players involved.

I agree with a mixture group. I'm suspicious of STL.

i agree. The real game has groups of 2-3 usually, with 4 being the hardest, and requires only 1 sabotage. This game has 5-6, but still only requires 1 sabotage. We are definitely behind the 8 ball, and i think the balancing needed to make it 2 sabotages or make it best of 7 to really scale it appropriately... but I won't be giving up.

I want to hear from those that were in the last mission to see if anyone can convince me to pick them...

Also agree with the mixture. It gives us more information than a group of all new people would. We can look at how the different groups overlap and begin to draw some conclusions based on that after a few rounds.
I'm a bit more suspicious of STL of the five, but that means little at this point.
Is this based on anything in particular, or just feels?

Well, I HAVE to vote success. I was at work until 3:15 pm CST and chillbo didn't have to wait for me to pm 😉 He knew what my answer was going to be and will always be!

Regardless, he is out of the running for me. I will take 2 or 3 of the 5 that were in that mission.

I believe Cyndia is resistance, so she is in.

WS, Mad Jack, and Lissa, anything you guys want to say?

I know I am resistance, so I'm sending myself. I can't take the risk.

Still need 2-3 of those not from last mission...

For me, it was his comment about choosing those who weren't campaigning. And just feels.

Well, I'm not going to go into a long campaign, but hopefully you're able to read me well enough to have the inclination of including me on this.

you are playing that card?!? when have you been a wolf and I have been a villager 😉?!?

i think i have to exclude you on principle... people might disapprove my squad solely based on your inclusion 😛

No, I'm not playing that card....and I haven't the two times I've been a wolf without you. Actually, the only time I did is when you were setting me up in Survive Alive. Hills to die on and all that.

You don't have to. I just thought you might be able to read me better than anyone else in this game and I don't like that principle.
