From what I read in agreement page, this is a website for asking and answering questions. Maybe it gets problematic for you to try to form personal friendships with people on this site, where you feel you have to personally know about a person on this site. And you will meet dinguses like me whereever you are, so expect it.

WELL...I just called and attempted to get info out of them. Didn't work. I think my problem is that I don't ask the right questions and then I get so nervous that I'm going to sound stupid and they'll tell the committee to reject me. It's just not a good situation. Anyway, Deanna told me "little movement" was correct regarding the waitlist movement. She also confirmed that I'm still on the waitlist. Man. I just wanted to say "UCLA is my top school, this is the school I want to go to, it always has been, I'll work the hardest, please let me in, please, please, please." I'm pitiful. Can somebody please call and ask how many people have been accepted off the waitlist? I mean, how much is "little." I want cold, hard facts. Please somebody, HELP!! <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

hey guys,

a family friend of mine got accepted off the waitlist a few weeks ago. up until then, she had no acceptances...and was only waitlisted at UCLA and UCSF. she was a UCLA undergrad with a 3.97 GPA and 30 MCAT. hope this info helps. i have my fingers cross for all of you! :)

Everybody, I went to UCLA's admissions office today to submit my 2002-03 UC application. The lady told me that they haven't started processing the 2002-03 files yet, implying that they are still working on applications from the previous year. So there is still hope for you guys.

This is really killing me now :(

So I talked to the admissions people again.

It seems they have just filled the class up again! So they took all the open spots due to withdrawals and screened the waitlist pool to fill those spots. These spots have been filled and the class is full yet again. So maybe some of you will be getting a nice little surprise this week. You guys should check your online status check to see if you have been mailed anything recently. Nothing for me :(

But maybe for you guys :)

it's july and they can't be bothered to call people? i don't understand why they do things the way they do. it just increases the anxiety on our side of things, and probably stresses them out too because we call so damn much. a little information would go a long way here. well, good luck to everybody. doesn't it seem like nobody in our lil' waitlist club has gotten in?

scooby, can you tell us whether you got the impression that they just filled the spots today? maybe they haven't sent out letters yet........

Maybe I am wrong though..it is a little weird that none of us have gotten in from SDN yet...

Also, I believe they WILL call people if they are accepted from the waitlist. So don't worry :)

However, I just found out via email this morning that I got accepted to Howard University :clap: :clap: :clap: . No more worrying about reapplying or three waitlists. I finally got an acceptance. I can't believe it <img border="0" alt="[Wowie]" title="" src="graemlins/wowie.gif" /> .

(...now I just hope UCLA or Drew accepts me so I don't have to move across the country :D )
 
I'M IN!!!!!!!!!! got my UCLA acceptance letter at 10am yesterday!!!!!! i was never put on the waitlist, i actually hadn't heard anything from them since mid March!!!
 
CONGRATULATIONS 5279!!! :clap: :clap: Now you can sit back and enjoy the rest of summer before embarking on the next tough journey. Can;t go wrong with living in Washington,DC--been told numerous times it's a kicka$$ town. :)

Let's hope that some of us SDNers do get off the UCLA waitlist at some point..

yes, i am definetly going!! this is my first acceptance!!! i will be withdrawing from the waitlist at Drew and Irvine..

I'm going to end the waiting and will be withdrawing from the waitlist. The process is way too shady. Someone a month earlier got into UCLA without even getting interviews at UCD, UCSD, UCI, and USC. I may add it was the person's only acceptance. It just doesn't make sense.

I've already accepted it as the fact.•••••Well I had the options to go to UCD and UCSD, and many will question my decision, but I had decided on USC over those two schools. I honestly think SC is very underrated, and that the clinical experience kicks ass like no ones business. Plus they have the new organ-based curriculum.

Initially, I had a crappy financial aid package from SC, but I found that that was not my final package and that I was being considered for a scholarship. Eventually I was granted a scholarship over four years that made USC cost the same as the UCs. So needless to say, I will become a Trojan at heart and will be a Bruin-hater for a very long time! There admission process, like I said, IS way too shady for me. Look at most of you: you have great schools that accepted you yet UCLA gives you the cold shoulder while they admit students that no other school gave them the time of day?

Good luck to those waiting on UCLA though!

Just noticed that Caliboy recently got into Hopkins... maybe he will be going to Hopkins in lieu of UCLA?

I'm a "URM" and I interviewed everywhere in California, including UCSF and Stanford and got a bucketload of interviews out of state, which I didn't attend, yet UCLA wouldn't even give me a secondary. 8 months after submitting my primary did I write to the dean begging for a secondary that I finally got one.

so this "URM" crap doesn't really fully answer our question about UCLA's weird practices. i'm speaking from experience, I know a White guy friend of mine (born and raised in Cali) who last year was accepted to only ONE school, and that was UCLA. He didn't even get secondaries from Davis and Irvine and only had one other interivew at UCSD which he was eventually rejected from.

At least we know that UCLA is still accepting. I can't believe they made Weca wait from mid-March until now! UCLA is definitely shady, but I'd still give anything to go there. More waiting for the rest of us. Doesn't this drive everyone nuts? I've become obsessive about checking my web status every day and I thought I was done with that craziness. jmejia at least is smart enough to stop tortuing himself...for the rest of us, I think we must be masochists.

well I heard UCI has specific GPA and MCAT cutoff points for secondaries and interviews...what kind of sh-t is that? hey joe, don't sweat it kid, USC is still an awesome school! Good luck everyone,

I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! I was pulled off of the waitlist at UCLA this past Monday, July 8th. I checked my status page after work and saw that the "final decision letter sent" changed to July 8th. I called Deanna immediately and she informed me that I had been accepted. I received the official letter yesterday and it gave me 2 weeks to decide. Of course, I am going to accept the spot. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!! :clap: :clap: :clap: :laugh: :D
 
Hey Scoob...long time no see...I've been such a bum this summer. I'm going to UCSD if I don't hear anything from UCLA which I'm starting to lose hope in since there is only 3 and a half weeks before UCLA starts orientation. :(

Just wondering...has anyone heard anything the last week? Anyone get in? My pre-med advisor told me that July is when the most waitlist movement occurs, so maybe there is still hope. It just seems to be cutting it awfully close.

Hehe. I take it back...I didn't see 5279's post. I guess there is still movement. Congrats!!!!! Hopefully that means more good news for the rest of us!!!
 
Hey 5279. Congratulations on your acceptance. I was wondering, where did you interview at and were accepted? Just wanted to see what kind of people UCLA are trying to get these days.

Didnt someone say the class is currently full? If so, how did 5279 get in? Just wondering.
