The WWalking Dead-Game Thread

I am flying 8-6pm today and then straight to a (rare) dinner party for me, so forget about me posting, I have an hour lunch but usually run late...so this is it for me for today.. sorry in advance if tl;dr

I figure I will be leading lynch candidate after being wrong yesterday, if not, great, but if so, you should at least hear the words of this innocent man!

1) I have been ww-ing longer than any of you by far, and have a long (if not distinguished) history of modding ....this may sound a bit patronizing, but you have to at least give me the benefit of the doubt of not being a horrible player. Maybe not the best wolfer, but I know what I am doing. Given that starting point how could any of you honestly think I am a wolf, I would have to be a horrible, horrible wolf, and if there is one thing I do best it is be chaos and wolf.
A). If I were a wolf I would be sure to be part of lynching other wolves. In fact it is the advice I always give noobs. Lynch votes for other wolves early and often...and join every wolf bandwagon,.,why,.,to avoid suspicion.
B) I am the king of bus-ing other wolves to gain cred. Any wolf is suspicious, or I am getting scrutiny, bus a wolf.
C) given last night was almost definitely a conversion....I would have had the converting bus the remain8ng wolf...if that were me ...so be it...normally wins the wolves the game.
D) as a wolf, before late game I am never going to lead the way on a fruitless lynch of a villager, unless that villager were a serious 8mpediment to wolf victory, A powerful villager maybe, a plain Jane...never. There is zero upside there....unless I knew for certain I was going down.

So the only way I am a wolf is if I am a really, really bad one. That is not credible,
2). I am Rick, a plain vannilager. I came out early talking about no role. Someone mentioned that maybe I was a plain vanilla wolf, but again what wolf would take that chance,,,it is suicidal. That i am not.
3) me and Mel were the big proponents of using ammo to kill chaos instead of lynching,,,why? Because wasting lynch votes is just that a waste,,,,get DocEspana in here to explain how statistically villagers lose whenever they waste lynches. Turns out we were wrong...it wasn’t until mid game when I got a bullet did I find out they are completely defensive.
4] being wrong being the proponent of a lynch target should not be an auto lynch, I used logic to find someone, that should not be punished unless it was misleading or is indicative of a wolf plot. All I did was find some suspicious behavior, honestly I would lynch genny every time with similar evidence, it just didnt make sense to me, still doesn’t,

So that’s it. I think it is pretty clear I am not a wolf, but I a,so know later in the gAme usually the path of least resistance is taken and most villagers are in an “anyone but me is good” frame of mind, try not to let the ease of lynching the easynguy stop you from doing the right thing,
 
I spent a lot of time last night thinking about the ammo thing,,,cause it annoyed me that genny had a lot of it and was a villager,
In hindsight, I think she was misguided, as was I too put stock in it. The ammo I got was defensive, But...I don’t think it stops wolf kills does it. Has anyone been protected from a wolf kill by it, I don’t recall. I think it stopped zombie attacks. It was the mechanism to stop them spreading and has served its purpose I guess. There have been attacks every night but 2 and one I think was the Bible or something, and this last one is a conversion...probably 90% sure on that one given we had just lynched a wolf and they were probably down to one. That is experience talking.

Anyway, it is possible wolves have a different use for ammo, but it seems unlikely since there was killing before the ammo thing became a thing,,,so I am stopping looking there,

This is a shot in the dark, I just don’t have time to look back through the thread, but it occurred to me that if 2 wolves were up for lynch, then dpmd gained much cred by moving over to the wolf...but she had little choice,, and then she went and tried to downplay it as if she were not trying to get any cred on it, that is a veteran move, and when I thought about what I would do as a wolf above, that popped in my mind. Dpmd was my choice to lynch that day. I’ve got nothing else on er but it is worth thinking about,


The only other thought I had was someones last night were discussing conversions etc and they had some lamebrained theories. Not sure if it was wolfy or just misguided. Not sure why we don’t go with OC cams razor here. No kill the night after a wolf is lynched is almost always conversion, especially late in the game, especially when no attack was prevented, stop looking for zebras, this one is fairly obvious. Usually the only one who try to distract from a conversionoccurring is the wolves. Look there as well.

3 wolves would be too little in this game, 4. Wolves too many, so it is 50/50 which it was, but given what happened I am now at 99% there is 1+1.

It has been fun, but honestly if I had time I would grump up some more and teach you whippersnappers a lesson,,but I am just too much nicer than @LetItSnow .

It irks me considerably that you're using "I'm a good wolf, I would be on wolf lynches if I was a wolf" as your predominant excuse here, which requires us to just take that on faith.

Earlier in this game when I used similar justification, you decided to tell me I had ****ty logic.

So, I'm mildly tempted to quote your own post back at you.

Could go dpmd again but part of me really thinks that one of the veterans is just playing a good wolf this game. Also keep forgetting that SOV is still in the game, despite seeing posts now and again.

I've been working the last bagillion hours, so I'm gonna try to catch up and answer the questions people have apparently asked me tomorrow morning. If anyone feels like reiterating to save me trouble, go for it, but I don't expect it.

Definitely interested to see what happens this night cycle though.

This post is hella sketch considering no one is lynching you right now. I had you as neutral; this + the mods calling for actions last night may make me take a second look at you.
 
I'm still very doubtful of the second conversion theory. Maybe there are still two originals if we were balanced towards 4, but all this theory does is get us in that mindset no one is clear again.

For the record, these are the 2 reasons I am not lynching you.

But again, those should not be considered 100% infallible.

The way you led the genny lynch yesterday was reminiscent of something I would do as a wolf. And I get more aggressive about leading lynches like that as we get close to end game and I feel like I need to be closing deals, as it were.

However, that still tends to work ok for me given the explanation you gave, because it mimics effective wolf hunting & I agree it should not be punished.

For the second point... I shared the information about bullets being only defensive on the thread, so it could be that you received a bullet when you said, and this description is true...or it could be that you listened to what I said, knew I was a villager, and changed your tune afterwards to reflect a villager stance.

I'm leaning towards the former, but again -- you're asking everyone to take this one on faith 😛

How do you explain the no kill night, then

I would think wolves could use a conversion at about half strength given the extensive protective mechanisms in place for this game.

Speaking of protection... I'm somewhat inclined to agree with SOV that bullets don't protect against wolf kills, but I'm also a little ticked at him for bringing it up because as long as wolves are scared of attacking armed villagers, we were a little safer. Now we are potentially less safe.

But I would be willing to be a guinea pig for that theory, wolves. Come try to attack me and see how it goes :heckyeah::ninja:

I'm under the assumption that wolves chose not to (or forgot to) submit a kill. With these write-ups containing as much information as they do, I would be shocked at them not including a conversion hint.

Also, even the games I played where there was more than one convert, there was never an auto/manual combination. All conversions were chosen.

There was quite the funeral party last night. With the loss of Maggie, everyone was feeling the crushing weight of her being gone. Why not spend some time forgetting for a little while?

After a quick suggestion from Rick that was met with unanimous enthusiasm, Gregory brought out the kegs and everyone danced the night away. It was going so well... until about 3am when some players started in on a few risky games. Bets were taken on who could get through the resident herd of walkers to the tree beyond. Carol went first. "Look at me!!!" With glee, she raced across the distance, coming face-to-face with a walker at one point, but shooting it with a bullet. She made it to the tree safely.

Multiple people followed her lead. She had become quite the sharpshooter. Everyone made it to the tree, but their drunken laughter only made things more dangerous.

The walkers approached and, in their tipsy state, panic began to ensue. How would they get back?

Carol grinned determinedly. "Have no fear! We can survive this.” Not everyone was certain, as the herd was growing quickly. Before anyone could interject, Carol was down the tree, sprinting for the safety of Alexandria. Unfortunately, she stumbled, and the hoard came upon her.

The others tried coming to her rescue. A few had bullets, others tried distraction, but to no avail.

Mauled by walkers is @PippyPony - Carol, a vanillager.

That would be a pretty good theory if I hadn't essentially invited jboo to switch to AM in order to ensure she was the one that went down. Do you really believe that two wolves would decide not to save themselves in such a easily defensible way? If that was part of some nefarious plot why would I mention that option on thread?

Still mulling over the thing with jboo, plus i have a theory about the no kill past night but it is pretty far out there which is why i haven't pulled the trigger yet. Cray is also a possibility but her posts that triggered my feels are longer ago. Sporty ponies also triggered me a little but i can't remember why this morning.

Mods told me I had to use a bullet to defend against walkers last night, but we have no walkers dead. Which is making me question Jimble saying she was the one that killed kc the other night.

I think my vote is gonna be there for today until further notice. I'll be driving and then going to a concert so I'll be gone for extended periods of time.

I have to reread that night to see if what you says makes sense. Also not sure whether wolves can be zombies or what it means if they did, Also confused about more zombies. I will try to check back after dinner. Drunk sov is always a blast.
 
The more I think about it, the more I like this idea of a zombie boss. So that throws my AM theory out since they wouldn't necessarily know who the wolves are. Maybe like a lone wolf character?

Me defending myself from kc’s attack is literally in the write up. I was also told I used a bullet to defend against walkers last night.
