Something was bugging me about this, so just went back and looked.

Why did the wolf with lynch cancel die with that cancel unused?

Presumably they either weren't around to use it, or they were restricted to choosing to use it the night before the lynch they wanted to cancel.

There's many ways to break the tie, mechanisms depend on the mods/the game. Player with a tiebreaking ability, mayor, RNG, all die, etc.

I would add to the nooblet pair, that if you aren't sure what is safe to say and that is why you are being recalcitrant, you just say that as well. I learned a lot as a total noob by turning to my experienced PM partners, although if you're unlucky and they're a wolf it can get you into a lot of trouble. But that's also very educational. I would often confide a little in them to figure out what to communicate on thread, when I was feeling too paranoid to share with the whole class.

Good point. However after talking with Staff last night I am feeling a little more comfortable that lynch avoidance was not the cause. When I asked if she had anything to fess up she seemed so genuinely clueless that I'd be impressed with her if she actually had one and was pulling the wool over my eyes.

I noticed this too. I thought maybe they decided to take a gamble, since they didn't know what would happen with ties? Or no wolves were around at lynch close? I'm sure there could be other reason's too, but that is what I came up with.
 
Not totally caught up (very lightly skimmed everything but need to read again) but I have to go to work.

For now Lynch Gryff because of previously stated reasons.

Open to switching (esp if Gryff provides some useful content) once I fully read and decide what I think of the Pippy/Mel/Cowgirl situation. I do think based on Mel's thread post that wolves could deduce that she had a role of some sort pretty easily. Annoyed that protector didn't pick up on that.

Hopefully work is less busy than it was yesterday.

Catching up on all the on goings -- highly surprised I survived D1 of my first game -- I thought I had been lynched. Didn't know mods could break ties. Regarding me switching my vote -- I was taking heat from both dy and AM. Makes sense that the wolf pack will pick on outliers, weaker members, and noobs. Either I'm a wolf, or one of them are. My reasoning for switching to dy was because I felt that she was busy lighting fires under everyone else's butt to move the spotlight away from herself. AM came to her to aid maybe as a villager also wanting to see if I was a wolf or as a wolf wanting to help another wolf under the guise of "fellow concerned villager". If I was going to be lynched, might as well take a wolf with me (given that ties would have resulted in all parties being expelled).

Dy: Please try to not be so offensive (calling me a "dick" and "dickish" etc) -- I don't know you from a hole in the ground (yet). Apologies AM for not responding, I sort of lumped you in with dy by association since you also started firing.

Oh and Coop who also voted for me was "doing the right thing" and thought I was retaliatory voting so switched to me because he thought that wasn't cool -- glad he wants to play a fair game. I would have probably voted for him if I wanted to retaliatory vote, but I don't get the same wolfy feeling I get from dy, so I'm not voting for him, however, wether he was conveniently using the dy, am, lynch staff bandwagon to stay hidden is still tbd.

Ok I'm no longer dead (IRL) what happened? I see we got a wolf that I conveniently switched off of right before lynch and inadvertently caused a tie cause I didn't have time to read literally anything... so I assume I'm suspicious? :laugh:

See, here’s what bugs me about Mel “hinting” and hoping a protector would pick up on it. Statistically, there is 1 protector, but multiple wolves. Better to just say “Pippy might be important, please protect and don’t lynch” than to be subtle - odds are in favor of the wolves catchng the subtlety but the protector missing it. Just because there are more of them.

Dy was busy performing the Spanish Inquisition on a number of people and I didn't see much in the way of a return. She's wolfy because while everyone else is busy defending themselves to the other villagers, she stays safe. Maybe by bringing her under the gun, she might have slipped up. I'm not the only one that noticed this behavior on her part.

Ok so there's a sketchtastic amount of people available, oh how I missed this. Staff is supah sketch for the weird noob play, cowgirl is sketch for the weirdness about pip's role, and so is mel. Gryff is also looking sketch due to poor gameplay. Tbh I should have stuck with Greeny now that I've reread (and obviously know that they were a wolf in hindsight) my bad. I'm still kinda liking staff, cowgirl, and mel right now. Ass I was typing this out staff just posted

I can't take this sort of behavior tbh. We're asking for your logic here to evaluate your status as a villager and you are plain refusing that makes you wolfy even if you're not. It's not helpful to the village to instigate these sorts of things.

This leads me to be more suspicious of cowgirl, not Mel. Mel did mention that his PMs with Pippy indicated that lynching her was a bad idea on D1. If he was a wolf, you'd think he'd want to keep that info hidden. But there may be another strategy here he's playing at that has gone right over my head.

Spidey senses are still strongest for allie, though. Could be convinced otherwise if anyone has PM'ed with her and vouches for her.
 
Oh forgot the allie defense of noob wolf. I feel like veteran wolves let them sink tbh. When I was a noob wolf I certainly sank and they just let me, commented I was sketchy and reprimanded me in wolf chat.

EDIT: Not saying she would do that or that she's not sketchy, just explaining why she's not higher on my sketch list

I don't know. Sketch due to the all the PM's running around last night surrounding Pippy's death, but Mel hasn't said anything sketch and has even read others/the situation well.

Snowy - I want snowy lynched. I don’t like that she started the game just as hedgey as the last game and it took me getting ticked and yelling at her to get her to make some committed posts.

AM - Reads like village AM, asking questions, tightlipped about her own theories.

KC - Some of her conclusions and the facts that she has used to draw them don’t match up. It feels like wolf who is making good theories and threw one into the mix to see if it gets accepted as well. Would vote here if I believed in pressure votes.

Dy - From following the social threads, I know that Dy plays on other sites as well and the site metas on other places tend to be more aggressive than SDN. While her wolf-hunting is rubbing me the wrong way I think that would be a weak reason for me to vote here. Personal feelings aside, generating comments and her logic has an organic flow to it.

Allieh - On thread, I flagged her post re: Greeney but wasn’t able to effectively analyze why in the moment. Looked back and its pretty much sketchy for the same reasons everyone was saying. pre-flip thinking: it could have been Allieh protecting greeney because she knew greeney had a PR. Post-flip: there goes the previous theory, now its just sketchy. I’m okay voting here if the lynch is between me and her.

3M - I would like more content from. People are developing as sketchy (myself, coops, cowgirl, staff etc.) yet 3M has neglected to add their thoughts one way or another about any of the number of people. I would expect some participation or at least saying something along the lines of who they want to narrow focus onto to avoid another diffuse lynch board like last night, but got nada.

*sigh* I get called out for assuming people are attentive enough to pick up on things, and last game I get called out for assuming people aren’t attentive enough to pick up on things. Its a very damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. I have nothing to rebut this with.

Coop beat me to this, but yeah. I had previously thought that Pippy and Cowgirl had SOME sort of back and forth that made Pippy trust Cowgirl over me, but now I know it was a gut call. I don’t know if this alone particularly makes Cowgirl wolfy or not, but does lend credence to what Cray was saying about me being scapegoated.
 
@staff_wielder I never called you a dick or dickish. You may not like being asked questions, but explain to me how I'm supposed to figure out your thought process since you offer nothing up?

And then you attribute things to me I've never done. It feels like you're voting me because I questioned you. That's noob wolf in a nutshell IMO
